Some wip of the guard kill team, needed to make a duplicate of an arm because part a73 isn't available often enough in the kit to assemble all the options even with 2 sets. The sticky tack held even after spraying and dry brushing (grey seer and some artist acrylics titanium white)

I didn't want to sub assembly the meltagun, because I didn't want to risk reposing the arm after painting the mini, as well as filling gaps. I'm much more confident with the plastic - plastic bonds

For those who were talking about apps you can use to test paint schemes with, I've used one called Impcat which is very good and easy to use. It's how I got this image testing my scheme. They have files for most any army faction you'd wanna try.

I did want a frosted over look, else I wouldn't have used the stuff called "liquid frost", but it built on the tips more than intended

the other model that i worked on is my first completed one actually. I gave the rest to my little brother to paint.

So 2 model so far, i did a little messing around with 2 previous models before that but gave it away so doesnt count.

I used liquid frost too a while ago on a model rusted barrel. This was done with an airbrush on the sides and top, brushed on the rim. Rim crystals were more prominent, but got knocked off over time because I didn't secure them with CA glue.

On the bright side now there's a legal kill team model with an eviscerator, and you can take other auxiliaries like kasrkin to pad out the team, so all the easier to run a darktide themed kill team. Shame no psyker/ogryn option, maybe you can substitute a model to represent legal options (purgatus psyker using the rules for a flamer guardsman, for example).

The new kill team expansion thing (soulshackle?) is also neat, very nice pieces for a game board or diorama.

They are armour sets that were more common during the Horus heresy but still see use as relic armour
