naw its easy, most pigments are fairly safe you just need a mask. Plus a kg for most brown pigments is like $15, so getting smaller amounts from someone like gamblin isnt that far off that. all you do is mix it in

thin it with water a little before you apply, gives more even results
in my experience
especially if you're using army painter shades
they're a bit thicker than most other washes
ive also heard adding a tiny bit of dish soap to the water/shade mix helps even more but i havent used it myself so take that with a grain of salt

|| Long story short, the My Dudes faction of IG/Imperials I made up before I had a look at a fucking map was a group of loyal Imperial citizens trapped in the middle of Tau space with no way to get a distress signal out and being out of range of Imperial support in general.
So they have no Space Marines. But because of low supplies and abysmal manufacturing capabilities compared to their enemies, they started stealing shit. The few Tech Priests that were with them were also massive Xenarites, so they started tinkering.
So those aren't Space Marines. They're the bastard hybrids of Tau Battlesuits and Power Armour ||

oil washes are weird for a lot of reasons as you will need specialized varnish for them and you will need to wait a minimum of 6 months before you can even apply them.

It depends on level of quality. If it's the traditional base coat, washes, layers, highlights, etc, then no more than 5 at a time, especially on units with lots of trim, like chaos space marines. If I slap chop it (black/grey undercoat, white drybrush, then metallics + contrast paints), then I can raise it to 10, because then I pick a colour and apply it model by model.

What color mud, and what do you mean by contrast well? Mud is usually in the red-orange range (brown is a mix of multiple colors), so something in the green range would work well. Neon green to maximize contrast, though it would likely not look very nice.

Yeah, it looks good. It's all about the story/setting you want to present with your minis. To me, your cadians are fighting in a late autumn/early winter period, or in an area with lots of traffic, such that only hardy bushes/grasses remain.

pobably base with an orange or orange/brown mix, one of those nice warm browns, then yellow with a touch of brown mixed in, maybe a brown wash to really pick out the details, then a couple layers of the yellow, and then finish the edge highlights with some yellow mixed with white or maybe a much lighter yellow.
the feet would be to go up to the second layer, do a red and/or brown wash, then highlight the raised areas with the yellow/brown again, and edge highlight with yellow to make it pop.
man i hate paint mixing, but there is not good way to do smooth yellows.
i'm assuming you know how to wet blend already, on the grounds if i have to explain that nightmare i will kill whoever hears it.

what yellow paint did you use on that
The basecoat for all my nurgles are Dead Flesh from Vallejo. Then once the basecoat is dry I wash entire model liberally in Aghrax Earthshade. Then I used Imperial Fist Contrast over all the armoured pieces and when that was set, used a base of Averland sunset yellow over them. Then orange wash into recesses and the bottoms of the armoured pannels and finally Flash Gits Yellow on the edges.

I got a superglued magnet out when I messed up polarity on one of my Tau guns. Drilled a 1mm hole on either side of the magnet, then used those holes to get the tips of my cutters to grip it, then slowly twisted (needle nose pliers would probably be even better). Superglue is not strong under torsion, so if you can grip the magnet to spin it in the hole, you will be able to break it out without a huge effort

I think honestly the way you can so easily scrape superglue off metal that 90% of the adhesion is just having a tight hole for the magnet to sit in.

(albiet, SM getting massive rerolls across the board) most of the criticisms seem to come from people talking about competative play, is that mostly because rerolls mean that like, average performance for a given unit is more the same and lessens the likelihood/affect of multiple bad rolls in a turn?
