A few friends have asked if I wanted to join their warhammer game. After playing this. Ive decided I should get into it. I like the Nighthaunt army. Do you guys have any suggestions on where I could buy a set? Im not really into model building and painting.

you can make your own chapters and its actually recommended due to the new wysiwyg rules(if you use an official one, thats the only one you can play, while custom can play any chapter), orders arent a thing anymore and objectives are based off a seasonal book you have to buy, regiments are custom as long as it follows the rules

Metallic: Iron warriors & leadbelcher sprayed as zenithal, a very liberal coat of sepia wash, black wash in the crevices and finaly silver as weathering & highlights.

You can tell its a metallic paint through a weird way too, on the right waist armor thingy(left in picture), the weird circular dots are lens flares from the PW20 Mica, mica unlike real metal interacts with light is a fucky way, which is why its also used in a lot of color change paint

So, just a slight idea perhaps, what about taking a battle cannon on the castigator and leaving the war suits with their heavy bolters perhaps?

It seems that you have lots of anti tank, but lose out on a bit of anti infantry

Outside of the large tank hordes, (That only a few factions can really field) for 1000 points You may only come across a single vehicle. and the battle cannon offers you longer range anti tank, rather than having to run up to within melta range

I'm sorry, my knowledge on sisters in incredibly limited. I only looked up the units on wahapedia and made some general observations. It could be entirely possible that my advice could be entirely false as the army has a rule that I didn't know about

Im working on diving themed forgeworld and this guy is the concept for my Titans <titanfall> dunecrawler standins

The key is lots of surplus plates and dremel work

its better than a lot of first attempts, its what I'd call a TTS, which is what most hobby painters think is good for a full army. once you get more experience, the same thing will take you way less time.

the hard part is to paint 40+ minis in as quick a time as possible so you can make it to the tournament next weekend without having them look like you dipped them in a wall-paint canister

Also tip for painting yellows:
Most yellows are transparent, the fillers hobby paint uses makes them really bad because they arent very strong pigments, the best being benzimidazolone.
Non-transparent yellows are yellow iron oxide, Nickel antimony, bismuth vanadate, cadmium, these will make it easier to use.

Just use cadmium, its safe. There isnt enough soluable cadmium in cadmium paints for there to be a toxicity issue. Just dont airbrush it.
Dont want to use cadmium? Just buy yellows from a high end artist grade brand. It'll cost a little more upfront, but thats it. the bottles are bigger

I dont generally use primer as it doesnt really do much other than a unified color which i dont need for my painting method, glue most use tamiya extra thin. Paint, I use professional grade paint, its cheaper and higher quality. hobby paint is actually really bad, I can go into its chemistry, but everyone rolls their eyes when i do or gets a headache

the trans flag uses quinacridone magenta(pr122), titanium white (pw6) and phthalo cyan(pb15:4) as its basis, you can use those for increased visual flare

since both PR122 and PB15:4 are transparent you can build up layers to get more accurate shading

the fact you can spot your mistake and fix it puts you above a lot of hobby painters. I know ones that have been painting 15+ years and still think shading doesnt improve models at all

I would normally despise a controversial topic being represented (fielded) in game (I.e you painted kreigers as Nazis or tau as communist or any other subject)

You can boost it up even more using things like indanthrene(some times called anthraquinone PB60) and Quinacridone violet(PV19), you also have a mindmeltingly bright pink called quinacridone pink

PB60 and things like that are pigment codes, P = Pigment next letter(s) is the color ie B = Blue, R = Red, Br= Brown, the number is when it was added to the list(not when it was invented as you have things like PR101 being synthetic iron oxide and PR102 being natural iron oxide which you know... came first... Or the fact one of the first red pigments is vermillion and thats PR106)
