I do kind of wish chaos undivided had its own benefits. But the mark system is pretty cool

Yeah, IMO a good way to do it sould be just to make the default unmarked

And then chaos undivided's mark doesnt give you a buff, but gives you all 4 god keywords

So a undivided marked unit can be buffed by any gods stratagems or other unit abilities(such as prayers or spells which call for say, <SLAANESH>)

I find myself taking some marks just for the stratagems so

Ex) Slaanesh on my Havocs for murderous perfection

Better feel pretty good about the scheme it looks dope. Since you have a messy base try making a earth debris type thing. Like mud and then you can cut up chunks from the frames of those models to make ruble like bricks and stone thatve broken off. If you have it stirland mud, very small twigs from outside and some of those stones would look nice

i mean i want it to be an Inuit inspired affair. Im still working on the background but in general, they live on a planet cold enough to freeze a persons soft organs in minutes without proper protection, surrounded by large predators. It was founded based on a crashed colonization ship. Was hoping to say they used the significant part of their undamaged tech to dig in and establish a living space around a cobbled geothermal heating system under the frozen ground and over time have basically been doing the badass survival thing

maybe have a tech priest who integrated himself with the little tech left over to maintain it, becoming sort of a deified and totally misunderstood figure

if i could id make every vehicle they had based on animals and sleds

but GW really doesnt make that many.... also how would i say "yea heres this tank turret on the bear"

If sleds are what you want then do it though I'd think screw drives make more sense for an underground culture. That said what GW does or doesn't make is kind of irrelevant to me personally. I'm keen to do wherever I like, and if the orks can strap giant guns to various kinds of squigs from sqiggoths to whatever those new kill rig things are, why can't any other faction?

Screw drive vehicles go back to at least the 1920s, they aren't that advanced a concept. Tanks using them were experimented with after the 1st world war.

I'm always curious to see why other people are getting to this stage. I checked out of 9th pretty early on. To me it's never been a good editon. Too much baked in rules bloat right from the start

I just looked through the new models imperial guard are getting because I was curious. They will be replacing regular guard it looks like with some models they haven’t shown off yet.

My biggest fear is the loss of modularity like with what happened to the orks and death guard. If they kept it as head, torso, arms and legs with optional accessories I’d be just fine. But it’s when they fix a unique pose that bothers me. For instance imagine this.

You have a command set where the commander is standing on a rock striking a heroic pose

Cool right?
Well what about the collectors who make huge battles with them that have more than one commander.

That’s why I’m hating 9th edition. The rules suck but the models. while detailed, you can only have so many squads before they all look the same

That's been a problem with GW ever since they moved to more "dynamic" poses. Pretty much anything made since the death watch release has been that way outside of necromunda, regardless of which game it's been for. Exceptions have been few and far between. GW has stated the more dynamic poses make their models look better but I'm betting its more about screwing over people that were making compatible 3rd party bits.
