The way I've heard Krieg described is that they view their lives as bullets. Beyond the memes of high casualties is a theme of tactics and viewing lives as bullets. They will spend their lives like bullets to kill an enemy, to destroy a target, etc. but they are not going to needlessly throw away lives ever

You have tank mechs, lightweight mechs, tetrapod mechs that are basically walking super juiced soulgrinders. You have mechs that are completely locked into melee.

There are even better mechs called NEXTS that are basically walking stars that have no limitations.

Warhammer truly does get carried by it's aesthetic and lore not it's writing. Probably why it's not as popular as other things like Star Wars or Star Trek. That being said I do love the universe of Warhammer far more.
