It's one thing to play as 'four solo' when you know everyone is going to do their job. THe 'teamwork' happens automatically. But with randoms you'll often find mind baffling behavior. Like I was holding off a rear horde, all three of my teammates in front of me. They let a dog casually walk past them, pounce on me, and then waited till I was at 20% health to hit the dog despite it being in plain sight. No cover between me and them. Do you know how long it takes a dog to get someoen down to that low!?
