There are a few things you can. Shredder and braced autogun both get blessings that let you hold the button for a second or two in their direction to stop them from firing via suppression. Good for melee builds that need to get close.

Vets are expected to... just shoot them.
Psychers have options including the bullet block.
Ogyrn... look you either brought a stubber or you got a problem if your teammates aren't doing it. Because you won't have enough rocks on Auric and using anything else will run you out of ammo fast.

Shredder and autogun have weird blessings because they're not meant to be used as main weapons. They are 'stop fucking shooting me' or something like that and meant to get you into melee. That's why they have a bunch of blessings that reward non-stop firing and give movement speed boost.

Those weapons usually have more direct damage blessings though. Or even strength blessings which also increase stagger and cleave. Or even the toughness regen blessings which are actually really darn useful for survivability for that same reasoning of not wanting to use your ranged weapon as a proper... ranged weapon

It's not that suppression isn't useful. It's that those blessings don't provide that much to add to its value in the first place, especially since most of the roster isn't even affected by it at all.

Meaning the damage buff, also doesn't affect most of the roster.

You seem to be missing the point I am making. These are weapons for people who put all their damage into melee, they are not meant to kill anything other then gunners and ranged chaff and there is no better blessing for pure damage against ranged on the shredder and braced then the supression one.

You could get a higher % with some of the 'close range kill' blessings but if you're probably not at close range if your trying to stop yourself from getting shot and you need to kill four dudes just to get the same benefit.

What you're describing isn't what the braced autogun and shredder are for, you wouldn't want to pick them at all for those cases. they cant even pen carapace. They are ONLY for chaff and flak at most. Also you can get two blessings.

Ya. They're still not that good compared to other options in their respective pools. Especially Shredder which has both Blaze Away and Pinned Fire which are straight up some of the best blessings in the game for building up stagger for basically just shooting your gun.

Again. The blessings aren't great. Suppression is useful itself for what it works for but there's a reason you don't see those blessings very often.

I've been using the sprint one (only weapon I've ever used it on) and the more damage one. I am doing a stagger build with arby and rushing at an enemy and blasting them followed up by rapid bonks seems quite effective.
The double barrel seems to only exist as a weapon to be used before getting into melee.
