The middle one has an hexagon shape (kind of), it's the smallest of the three and the majority of it is being controlled by my warband (Prowling Claws) while the rest is fractured between smaller warbands and smaller xenos races
The second one (the outlayer) is mostly controlled by loyalist forces but fractured with small gaps between their controlled zones with Wild Space (aka unregistered places)
The last layer is the biggest and it almost encircles all the other two, control is very splintered about loyalist forces, major xenos species (mostly orks), has some necron activities and chaos

Maul and Shield is more for hordes. Also depends which mark from memory.

As far as i remember shield and maul is only a little weaker against crushers and both marks also had good single target attacks

for learning new weapon movesets ill also occasionally pop into a malice mission and just really put a emphasis on trying to use my weapons more fluidly with enemies that actually attack you. i try make use of my full fov and try to almost 'duel' anything that comes up to me

ive tried infantry lasguns in deadside runs, it just doesnt really feel good

granted, im used to the recon because of the sheer utility and ammo economy

Basically, use anything but dueling sword for awhile. Even powersword, also OP, has a massively poor mobility.
