Radicals are more likely to employ xeno tech or even chaos to some extent like daemon hosts. Puritans are the no nonsense rules are everything extremists.

Both side have pretty major issues but the best inquisitors tend to lean towards radical without tipping over the scale into full corruption

Leather "armor" isn't really a real thing for the most part. You have cour bouilli from the French and Italians, but that one protects your chest. A good buffcoat will cover your arms, chest, and thights, but you'll overheat in a melee. If you want to get the most out of it, you may emulate the samurai and make hardened leather plates but this isn't flexible, and will also overheat
