my wife really liked guild wars 2, which was odd because was never even interested in the first one, and when we were playing RvR in Warhammer: Age of Reckoning, she wasn't ever really interested in the actual RvR aspect; what kept her in MMORPGs like WoW and SWTOR was the roleplaying and social aspects -- which is true for a lot of the women I've met in gaming communities. So Guild Wars 2 was kind of an anomoly in that regard but she found a very serious roleplaying guild and had fun for years with it and met some neat people and even had a party with them down in Dallas and California (they went to Knott's Berry Farm) in an annual get together (I'd never do that for personal security issues, but that's my own hang-up).

However, as it went on, the organizers became a bit more narcissistic and micromanaging like any progressive raiding guild, and she was finishing her Master's Thesis and had a career and it was causing her some undue stress, so I had to help intervene a bit because what does some teenager or 20-year old know-nothing do-nothing brain-rot kid think he is putting schedule demands on fully employed adults and acting like he can control anyone because of some fukken pretendy fun-time game. The guild then kind of imploded after that but it was the first time some of her guild friends met me and they still kind of hang out with me now.
