The rule against exploits does say "this includes speedruns that involve exploits" so I agree that all the runs that involve reaching the spawn cap to win should then be removed. That's complete consistency.

However you can absolutely make the argument that someone who's beaten havoc already and is good enough to abuse the 'exploit' effectively, doing that by themselves in a solo mission or something, is less problematic for the game's health than someone actively advertising a service to ferry people to h40 by doing the same thing, and therefore creating a whole new breed of players with Havocforged and H40 clearance -- players who wouldn't even be good enough to do the speedrun themselves.

And then the motivation to ban that content is a judgement call and not any particular explicit phrasing in the rules.

Doesn't seem outlandish or unjust to me. People can be banned and content can be removed for reasons that aren't covered by the rules. They're not intended to be exhaustive in all circumstances.

you cannot have a speedrun (thats considerably less than 20 minutes at least) without reaching spawn cap so that means nearly all speedruns should be removed, i dont think this is a good point, and besides this fatshark has known for years that people do speedrun this game and have never banned or made a statement about it being an exploit

and i believe that a hyper-optimized build for a specific map is not an exploit, i cant see anyone thinking that using stealth at the right time to not get killed and be able to do mission objective is an exploit

and i believe these speedruns are overall beneficial for the game's health due to getting newer players past the rough grindy phase of this game and letting them actually play and enjoy a larger variety of builds from the 35k plasteel and 23k diamantine which has been the main point of these runs

Havoc was definitely not designed to be fun. It's a deliberate torture factory. The clearance rating and the titles associated with beating higher ranks exist to be a reward for enduring the very high difficulty, and to serve as indicators of experience and skill level in the party finder feature. Pretending like your ferrying of unqualified players to that high clearance level using speedrunning tactics doesn't violate the spirit of the gamemode seems like wilful ignorance tbh

We do it sometimes with other topics when they actually flood the subreddit or cause a lot of complaints but there's not enough time in a day to be super proactive about finding every infraction and making sure rule enforcement happens fully equally
