Male V was used for most of the early marketing material. CDPR realized the fuck up and used Fem V for the after release stuff. Because almost every thing post launch has been fem V the idea she is the canon choice stuck. Me personally i think she is. The actress does a better job and the dynamic with Johnny is better with Fem V. Male V is sorta to much like Johnny for the intents of the whole “opposites sharing a body” gimmick
