Considering that in the later parts of Havoc it does seem to lose its effectiveness. It goes from being able to shut down enemy hordes to "Well it does tickle damage and makes everything take a little bit more damage but that's about it."

Then you've got the Shards which are horde and squishy special killers but that's about it.
Then Brain Burst is just chonks of damage but only to one thing at any given time.

But yeah Smite being a pretty easy ability to just kinda casually spam I can see why some would be iffy about it.
