Yep, just because an anti-cheat is kernal level, doesn't mean people can't cheat. They can and will cheat no matter what since most AC software is bloody useless. So many blatant cheaters still go undetected.

The best kind of anti-cheat is just someone straight up recording the cheater and having a report player feature that lets you submit video evidence and grab action logs from the reported player.

Then if someone gets reported multiple times a human moderator can look at the footage and see if they're cheating.

Or just do overwatch. Have random players review footage if they want to. Any cheat footage marked as cheating MULTIPLE times get sent for mod review to be certain.

One might be a mistake, but when a massive majority viewing sees it as so, it should get carefully reviewed.

Yeah, self moderation could work well in that way. Players making sure other players are not cheating and then if enough people vote that player is cheating a moderator will look as well and decide what to do.

It does need some tweaking to get right for sure, I found it worked more smoothly on a slightly older driver (I was running one from March 2025 until recently)

It is possible, iirc the foxhole devs manually ban people and they run a big persistent war MMO and I can't remember ever seeing a cheater once. Only ever seen alt griefers and they also seemed to get banned when mass reported relatively quick.

Yeah, AI is really bad at that sort of thing, they're simply not advanced enough to use for that sort of thing yet, like maybe in the future (like 20 years) they will, but not now, they're simply terrible at that.
