sure, they get a lot of survivability talents for restoring Toughness. They can also select a Force Dome to block incoming gunner fire, or take Empathic Evasion to be briefly immune to ranged when they crit someone (very useful)

I think assail is pretty strong though with psyker blitz you are at risk of using it over your primary weapons which some people get stuck doing and that feels like they're less helpful in certain circumstances
