Space Marine 2 suffers badly from this issue since the bolters are ping pong ball guns in that game, I don't want to see WH40k:TW have the same problem where things are super far removed from the lore and don't make much sense.

Yeah, the TW dev said the Eldar will work really differently to all the other factions.

The Guard is meant to be most similar to the more typical armies in other TW games and act as sort of a beginner faction. People who played the other TW titles should easily learn the Guard.

The Orks are a horde faction, relying on sheer numbers, but also have their Ork technology as well.

The Space Marines have small squads, but they are space marines, so each dude is worth like 100 or 1000 guardsmen etc.

I do wonder how they'll balance all this, it's probably harder to balance then any of their previous titles, even the WHF series simply because of it being sci-fi.
