RPGs think they're providing value by making it so that you can replay the RPG and get different results... but it takes so much time/effort to replay a game nowadays (with so many other games and such limited time) that, who will ever play the game a 2nd time

Actually, I think I've heard other people say the same thing, so I think you're correct.
I never became that in tune with the game sounds (some of the game sounds are quite subtle when there's a lot of noise happening), and then eventually I just started playing my own music over the game and relying on instinct.

Helps with getting the damn things cus it means you dont have to rely on randomly stumbling on them in the case of the books and idols

but like I said, almost every rpg will have you visit the same places mostly because the story needs to happen
