I use scrier's gaze + warp peril protection, that gives me about 10 seconds to go on an attack frenzy, i like using the buff bar to squeeze as much out of it as i can. I think it has plenty of little uses like this, but it boils down to preference

The problem is that Havoc is balanced in a way that requires at least 3 people to be pulling their weight well

People who can carry aurics, unless they're using gigameta builds, usually can't carry if two or more people suck and keep drawing ambients and boss triggers

In some cases it matters quite a bit (op single target attacks, great cleave attacks) in some cases it's fairly just preference. For the most part, experiment, only ask questions when you are absolutely lost, i think you'll learn to enjoy and understand darktide better that way
