But also, just so you know: There are a lot of players who don't mind playing with dead weight teammates.
Some don't notice who's dead weight (because they don't pay attention to other team members).
Some actually like saving people, that's their favourite thing. So if you suck, that makes them feel important.
Some just like playing for fun and have empathy for other teammates, so they understand if you're not great.
There are a lot of different types of players.

8-player co-op... that sounds interesting. Darktide uses 4-player co-op. So you can end up with 1 player going off on their own while 3 players stay back. Or you can end up with 1 player going down, then 1 rushes to save them and dies, and 2 are left alive... lots of interesting 4-player dynamics/
I have no idea what a 8-player dynamic would be like. I wonder if it would be too many, or if it's a good number

Its quite different. The map is open and theres no progressing the campaign, just surviving the wave. Players can absolutely survive solo if they have the skill for it, and theres no downed state iirc, so you have to be on the move and avoiding the friendly fire and adapting to the different enemy types while upgrading your weapons and buying ammo at the end of each wave

A better comparison then darktide would be cod zombies i guess
