Definitely seems so. I've played 50+ games since release, Heresy till Damnation, a bit Auric right after release where I was carried to on a wave of arbites (2-3 of them on every squad back then all the time). In 90% of the it's arbite guy who has been on the top in terms of damage dealt. Sometimes a vanila class, but rarely. And they were showing up to 50% higher damage dealt in a mission than most of vanila classes players in the same mission. I also see them doing tons of kills of specialists, gunners specifically, the only ones I saw killing gunners in such numbers before were veterans.

I mean, may be they are not OP in terms of cheesiness, like you can't pimp them up like some classes to get ridiculous damage numbers on huge hoards. But they definitely seem like something that is hard to build or play in such way that it will be worse than vanilla class played by an average player. They are much tankier and punchier than those classes, in its core. Though I think there was a fresh thread on FS forums where a guy claimed they still can output insane damage too
