The game has a massive memory leak, and every time you go into your inventory you are inflating the heap size until it crashes
You can try this launch option to limit the heap size of the game
--lua-heap-mb-size 2048
It doesn't fix memory crashes but it can help
Still if you're playing for hours you should restart the game anyways
