2 maps (could use more) up to auric difficulty
between levels you get extra blessings and modifiers, like regen grandes, healing grenades, set everything on fire, throw all grenade types, and so on

That is why its a stepping stone, Mortis Trials is an incomplete dip into a chaos wastes mode on darktide. Remember that the two games have two seperate dev teams, there may be some overlap between devs who have worked on vermintide 2 and darktide, but i'd assume most of the darktide team is new to it. So a Mortis is them testing the waters for a chaos wastes mode, if they do plan on actually adding one.

When looking in the direction of certain players (inconsistent, maybe 1 in 5 matches) my game goes from the normal 40fps to about 5. This immediately ends as soon as I look away

Never in game, only in menus or loading into "Penance" when i'm in the hub, scrolling trough weapons and similar quick loading things. Game wilist in missions runs smoothly on a full AMD build (9800x3d and an XTX with 32 gb of RAM, game running on an SSD)
