They are pretty OP, from what I saw. Combining a "press to kill a specialist" ability with no cooldown with pretty high firepower at close and middle range (so 95% ranges that matter in the game) is brutal, and they are not easy to go down either. When I checked post-missions dashboards a few times, the guy on top in terms of damage dealt was almost always some arbite player

Yea, their number seems to make everything even crazier. One dog is already somewhat irritating when it snatches and kills a target you aimed at with your Ability for example, happens rather often. 3 dogs turns it into whirwind of death, they just run around killing most of specialists on sight, while their masters keep shooting things. I think a huge portion of the damage comes from this extra they don't need to actually do themselves, beyond tagging something.

Also, I think their ranged weapon is kinda punchy too. I saw them killing tougher specialists like gunners with 1-2 hits from close distance with it (not headshots). I'm using a maxed almost-perfect revolver myself, the punchiest version - I don't think it can one-shot them at all, with a body hit. And they don't need to aim that good either, just fire in a general direction at that range, with their shotgun.

I don't think it's a functional scenario, honestly. Won't combine well with quick match findermost people use. You get on a team with two other dogs and suddenly you need to change the way you play your character, people won't like it.
I just don't understand, help me here. With that ability they activate via double-tagging, the dog can

1. Hunt and kill most of the specialist in a few seconds. Even maulers (saw it many times, just drop them to the ground and they are dead in a second)
2. Stagger big elites, like bulwarks, exposing them to their weapons

That seems like tons of utility, how comes it doesn't have any kind of resource management, or cooldown? I'm well aware, I play Auric and have done so for ages. I've gone to h40. Revolver is a much easier and better weapon than the dog. The dog is just a few kills here and there, maybe more if you invest a lot, nothing super special.

It would be "every now and then" if the dog had limits and cooldowns any other ability of comparable strength has in the game, but in its current form it's "kill one after another, a specialist every 10 seconds if needed with no skill and effort" - what is huge bonus, because specialist is like 50% of the factors that decide if you live or die when fighting a wave.

90% of locations you'll be fighting in are closed spaces, and besides snipers any specialist still needs to be close to you to matter, so it's not really a factor. And when you have 3-4 on the team they are just everywhere, it takes a few seconds for them to reach the target

not really, when you have a wave to fend off, and they are not standing still, and you may not even have clean line of sight often, like in case of when they are beind fence, or behind bodies - but tag works even if you tag them through the crowd
