The Community Manager thing has always been a bit strange, as it it's in this uneasy place between what we used to have in late 90s/early 00s with fan forums (like HeavenGames, twcenter, etc) where Admins/Mods were separate from devs but acted as a conduit to them vs CMs who act as modern face of dev studios in the community and often bear the brunt of consumer backlash/community anger but don't really get the praise for the game (if successful)
