What abt psyker cant attack when shielding
Wall with that stun
what is psyker instantly dies if the shield is broken by enemy fire
you know, as a fuck you
Ok, but only if they get buffed if it lasts full duration
RNG based chance to manifest a greater daemon on power use
Does lethal proximity require the bolt pistol to be out when you toss grenades?
No
awesome
smyker is bothersome but you're kinda immobile while doing it, the bliz should bit tone down in terms of dmg tho
Smyker can still kill a metric fuckton of stuff on the correct build
I have no issue with scryer tbh, exec stance is roughly on par right now
Maybe psykers should have charges on their blitz like everyone else
it needs it's uptime cut, but I think it should have it's impact upped during that
so does ws db vet
make it be used proplerly instead of perma stunning a horde of nothing
the problem is infinite cleave, dots and rending
WS DB vet requires any level of input
literally unplayable
i can't just hold down two buttons and turn off the game for the entire team
anyone have a good rampage crowbar build
no weakspot? must not need it i guess
the weapon doesn't have much finesse
ic
Tbh I only run weakspot with the Vraks
Shivs is great with it
needle pistol doesn't have the benefit of immediate feedback but it is a great weapon still
the loose end is the 3 second window before it dies, plenty of time to get hit lol
You shoot a trapper once with that, he dead
Nah a loose end is the trapper running off because you failed to kill it
Don't have that with NP
me: -fires three needles into the trapper and turns away- "Heh, you're already dead"
the trapper: "You're already netted."
me: "NANI"
same here, but I do like having high ammo reserve and good ammo efficiency at once...
the idea is to shoot in the general direction and move elsewhere
I consigned myself to using the stub revolver
ive just been using the stub pistols and they seem to 1shots specials and whatnot generally
and they're pretty conserative with ammo
whats the best heavy sword if im just gonna be pulling it out to kill mutants and ragers
Ole' reliable revolver
all of them
3?
it's a question of moveset
I prefer the 7
because you can sidestep a mutie and do H1
very satisfying
3 would kill trapper almost instant
1 will do it
1 is enough to kill in like 3 ticks
Need discipline if you're running the needle pistol
desperado pistol build here i come
yeah lol, 1 tick
1 kills a trapper quickly
I panic shoot all the time in the hopes they die faster, knowing they'll die before the next shot even lands
imagine having to sidestep lol (laughs in mk6)
ngl i fire two at everything because who gives a shit
remember guys pickpocket is overpowered because no other class has genuinely infinite ammo to shoot all game with /s
Not with infinite ammo XF
ammo econ on needle gun is wild and all i need is one scummer or vet and its essentially bottomless
let alone fucken pickpocket
my stubpistols have run&gun (for bonus accuracy without needing to spend a point on Sticky Hands) and Desperado or Crucian (for bonus crits).
And no, I don't use Speedload blessing with it, because its duration is a tiny bit too garbage for my liking... (I use +10% reload speed perk to compensate)
in which case it IS bottomless
pickpocket should be nerfed anyway
cool, i realised i only rlly needed to kill mutants and ragers on this build with melee
absolutely no other source of infinite ammo in this game
so thats ideal
Wish it was vet with an infinite ammo gimmick, and not the literal gutter rat
Vet hasnt been busted with infinite ammo in a long time
i use run&gun and speedload ye, i might swap speedload though, you're right about it but tbh i honestly dont find myself reloading THAT much
if infinite ammo was the actual source of gun scum being too strong shock trooper would have been nerfed or reworked on the veteran talent tree a long ass time ago
At least give Vets auto-reload when they use exec stance like it used to
Its only infinite if taking everyones ammo in whole map
the mixed horde combo is H1 > Special > H1 > Special and so on. It's what has the most single target dmg and also very diagonal
I had to pick up ONE ammo stash that entire game
Mk XIV recon lasgun
I shot literally everything within reason
only using my melee for shit that I melee on gun scum too like mutants/hounds
also did they ever say if half of the human backpacks missing from scum is a bug
shock is kinda at the bottom of a dead br... oh wait
🫃
More lasgun buffs
Knowing the shit they're trying to pull with the two new upcoming 40k games, I'm all for making lasguns the only correct option for anything related to the astra militarum
lasgun will be buffed with admech, trust me bro
They got rid of the beams.
what are people running on the double barrel with desperado?
haymaker surgical
bruh, how i am outdamaging desperado smg HS as infernus recon vet
the gun in question for those stats I just posted btw
class doesn't make up for being bad most of the time
vet has higher gun damage than scum
also tru
scum just has better mobility
depends if youre running exe stance prob tho
Arbites exist.
most of the time
even if you can stay alive it doesnt mean youll do well damage-wise
I use it with recon :)
xstance just the best ult
I just facetank ranged damage on purpose to have infinite stamina to keep deadshot active xd
shout is just for babysitting and i dont babysit (for anything less than $50/h and at least one fudgesicle from the freezer)
Does "Chem Fortified" count when you deploy the stimm supply?
but yeah pickpocket is totally overpowered and totally unprecedented infinite ammo in a tide game
sure
bah, excitedly bought a +3 stam curio. Then realized it's 400
yeah, chem dep node works with bag.
sigh
Clearly, the only correct choice is to run infiltrate vet
From anyone's kit
hilarious videogame
Good, because I was wondering: Am I wasting a point in here thinking that using the ult will also replenish toughness?
infiltrate base cd should be 30s
whats crowbar dumpstat? defenses?
If it didn't make you lose invisibility from attacking it'd be a really good ult, but without that it's pretty meh.
how? oO
I just said I run exe and facetank ranged enemies for infinite stamina
I know a guy who unironically runs infil vet "so I can stealthily revive downed people" while glossing over a key contributor as to why the team gets downed more often.
also MMF headshot stamina regen
was doing with with Mk XIV recon lasgun to make a point about how pickpocket giving infinite ammo is not the reason gun scum is overpowered
nor is pockpocket an overpowered talent
exec regen stam? oO
Are u inmune to sniper shots during desperado?
taking damage regens stamina
Ahhhhhh
Only the netter can get you iirc
you should continue to
Wish the damage buff lasted at least 15s upon leaving stealth.
if you let it shoot you you're gonna get a bad habit and get shot when you dont have it
And not... 5
Would be nice.
Like shit, 5s for +30% damage on a skill with a base cooldown of 45s
Amazing combat ability. 10/10 design
and for some stupid reason getting second charge increases its cd to 60 seconds
like
why
Zealot laughing its ass off getting a free 2nd charge with their chastise the wicked without any drawbacks
Yeah that is pretty bad considering other classes like the Ogryn can make all the enemies in a pretty large area take 20% more damage from yelling harsh words at them
which he gets back in like 15 seconds anyway
what perks does crowbar need? cara uny or something?
As if people here are any different
Must be the same people behind the boom bringer being "so strong" pre-buff that it should only have 2 charges and basically be a worse krak grenade
It was a SLIGHTLY better krak grenade
carapace and unyielding is good or carapace and flak.
Not better enough to justify being on a class with no regen
yeah, it definitely was better
now its 3 ogryn bombs
ye which is in line with the other scum blitzes in power level
Ogryn explosive blitzes in shambles
1 ogryn bomb is better than 1 rocket
overtuned
yup all 3 scum blitzes are
if its gonna be that crazy, why does an ogryn only have 1
At least Ogryns can still rely on trusty ROCK
because ogryn is not made out of tissue paper and does not die to a single mistake
🪨
ok
if you just have a class that is tanky and gets all the damage too you get psyker
neither does scum
From the needle gun you can only proc glory hunter if the actual bullet kill the enemy? and not from dots?
scum not that fragile
anyone with a brain who can dodge somewhat competently is going to be fine on scum because immunity to literal jesus himself
I still want Ogryn rock to get more upgrade nodes, like having a handful of smaller rocks that act like a shotgun blast or one that reduces max number of rocks to 1, but it's no longer a rock, but a massive slab of concrete that gets yeeted, dealing heavy damage to whatever gets hit.
The pre-buff grind was rough even if you already have enough experience to max every other character in the game by that point
no, it really was not
it was fine for me
No no, it was. Especially in pub lobbies
honestly leveling scum was way easier and more enjoyable than arbitrator
i played only pubs
4 scum go in. 50/50 chance for the mission to outright fail before the 2nd medicae
i guess if you don't expect to clutch every single game its rough
but i just clutched nearly every game and didnt fail basically any
did you do it before or after the talent reshuffle?
literally on release
It was rough on the HK server.
Easier I call cap on. More enjoyable? That's different
lol
honestly
using a shiv and actually being able to move is way more enjoyable than arbitrators slow caught in molasses shit while leveling
how on earth was it easier, I saw SO many all scum parties fail. Arbites was a kennel of faceroll victories
I genuinely cannot tell if people were just doing their penances, or were hoping they can get away with 200 rating equipment on damnation and above
Hivescum revealed all the bad players tbh, even more so then Psyker can.
The number of times I've seen completely unupgraded 0 rating autopistols in heresy+
contrary to what people here think, by the standards of most games, darktide is fairly difficult. The average player is markedly worse than dedicated players.
i also have a brain so i just got a tac axe and used a maxed weapon from level 2 or some shit
Surely there has to be a point where they are obligated to literally just
whatever level tac axe unlocks
Buy some random bs from the shop
Rather than use the literal starter weapons and starter talents
sure, but you're still semi beholden to your allies doing dumb things, even if you can clutch the whole run, that's not easier than murdering everything as arbites. Just a silly thing to say
oh this isn't contrary, its quite well known how bad most of the darktide player base is, half of the game is complaining about bad teammates
tbf, it was roughly only the first 48 hours since the class was purchaseable
But people can't be that clueless
does +75% coherency radius spawn less specials for running forward a little
Even funnier, a good lot of them had ASS, Poxbreaker, Havoc-Forged and True Survivor titles
nah it was easier than arbitator imo, actually being able to move is way more important to me than being able to eat shots, i avoid damage completely if possible
and between the expanded explosion radius and free weekend I saw more run failures launch weekend than I have in months
hmm... what's the dump stat on dual stubs? Mobility or Collateral?
this is pretty consistent among most games, honestly. casuals are dime a dozen while sweatlords are few and far between
at all difficulties
Did HS release coincide with the free weekend?
ofc, but some games are far more casual friendly than DT
Not sure those mechanics are even connected tbh.
bro i had a dude in my damnation when i was level 24 or something, bro was true survivor and died probably 6-8 times on scum
i had to clutch that game 3 times to revive the team
i mean, it's not dark souls, but it's on the harder end of the scale
man why do people think dark souls is hard
this game is harder than souls
it's just pattern recognition
suuure did
that thing our monkey brain is hard wired to be good at
yea but slowly but surely the game is caving towards casuals. they DO make up the super majority, after all
souls games on new game is very easy if you build your character correctly and use a good set up
and can time dodging even slightly
I should've went with my plan to pick up every grimoire I could find in low level public lobbies during the free weekend
people whine and cry enough about why everyone and their mom can't casually complete h40 and they make changes
because it is unforgiving compared to most other games. The various souls games are tougher by a substantial margin, for the average player, than a typical arpg
p sure you put a new player in an arpg on any difficulty other than easy they're going to get floored
honestly im mostly alright with havoc, but i wont play it until they get rid of the aids systems around it like party finder and get penalized on loss
also fuck rotten armor
and blight spreads
stupid modifiers
path of exile, last epoch, grim dawn don't fuck around
Because they insist on using a purely physical build with negligible buffs or strats other than "me dodge. me swing beeeg sword"
I have no idea about diablo IV because I immediately pegged that game as a shitshow
If you want a game to survive and grow, it needs a player base. As long as there's still engaging gameplay for me, I'm okay with some smoothing of the difficulty curve
this is...how I played every dark souls game until 3
Not me
oh not bloodborne though
Built different
did SKILL in bloodborne becaues cane whip cool
Which bolt pistol mark works best on the Hive scum? The one without the AoE?
tbh almost every souls game i just start with a strength build
brainless and usually strong enough
The difficulty of a souls game is entirely dependent on how you build a character.
Issue is, some people would rather stick to whatever is familiar than experiment.
The healing enemies modifier needs to get deleted, it's super broken, especially when there's a huge amount of bulwarks with it.
maybe delete bulwarks
from the game
really dumb
see its not fun at that point, its just obnoxious
if we're gonna argue that the essential design of most DS games isn't substantially more difficult than average for games, I think we're entering the territory of myopic perspective
At least make the shield destructible, that would fix the problem.
I think that's more of a symptom of bulwarks having limited counterplay than anything
The monkey's paw curls.
For every bulwark replaced, a rotten crusher takes its place.
I'm just of the philosophy that it's okay for games to have really challenging content that isn't for everyone, and for that content to even have rewards associated with it. if you want it, become the sweat and earn it. but modern game culture seeks instead to pressure devs into just making it "more accessible"
anyone got a build for the twin pistols
souls games are harder than the average game if the average game is like legend of zelda or something yes
not the autopistols, the other one
but they're not that bad overall
just because something is easy for you, does not make it easy.
And knowledge contributes to skill. The average player doesn't get the knowledge necessary to make DS 'easy', typically
Havoc is for those players, tbh
people dont do research
This is where I like to bring up Armored Core
give it time.
people blindly pump stats evenly without knowing anything about it
is coming, I assure you
You're right. Most players don't even engage with the communities surrounding those games online.
im curious
or if they do research at all, they use whatever google floats to the top
A game people can set down and pick up at any time is always going to be popular among working adults. Especially dadgamers.
Yeah probably, if the shield had like 5 pieces with 4 corner pieces with 1k HP and 1 central piece with 2k HP it would be a lot more fair.
what I did for "looking up builds" in souls games ws just scouring the wiki for a weapon that looked cool, and building the stats for that
theres definitely souls bosses that are difficult on newgame just because of their attack patters and whatnot, but tons of souls bosses can be dodged just on sight as long as your timing is decent
A boss fight could quite literally be the only activity for the day
honestly a lot of attacks can be avoided just by sprinting for tons of bosses
im all for making games less accessible. tarkov should be entirely in russian or at least riddled with spelling mistakes
it me, minus the kids. I'm getting toward 50, though I don't feel that old at all
I finished Earthworm Jim
that was not fucking around
fucking submarine lvl
my first playthrough was always as pyromancer
DS levels of stat autism.
3D environment and movement.
Even the UI element of targeting your enemies at certain ranges is customizable.
platforming aids
Also, the difficulty Fromsoft games are known for.
I've heard ACVI is very smoothed down customization wise compared to older AC games
i've played AC4 and ACVI
dude i booted up ninja gaiden a few years ago for shits n giggles n i have no idea how i beat that shit at 13
Yes
tho it was a very surface level playthrough of AC4, i had no idea wtf was going on
It was certainly designed to be more approachable compared to the previous iterations.
those old console games were heavily influenced by the difficulty of arcade games, which were hard to get kids to spend quarters. Then it was to extend the 'life' of a cart, so people didn't feel ripped off by finishing a game too easily.
Most players didn't finish games then, and most players, now that games are more accessible, still don't finish the games they start.
Cowboy moment
absolute dedication and fuckloads of failures
tons of original nintendo games are hard as fuck
honestly I'm really hoping the next AC game (if we get one, I hope) will introduce some more complexity to the customization
but honestly I don't have the highest hopes, it seems like from is way more focused on their soulsborne titles
I'm honestly more surprised AC6 has had several rounds of balance changes regarding the PvP
simpsons hit n run was also weirdly hard to play in my 20s n i beat that shit was i was like 9
fromsoft has to get that switch exclusive game out next
yup. I think the hardest O.G. NES games I recall finishing were original teenage mutant ninja turtles with the absolute bullshit underwater mine level, and Kid Icarus with the real ending.
gotta make a souls game for switch to get a couple more sales
AC7 when
Fromsoft is always working on 3 projects at once, and Duskbloods is the only one we know of atm
people joke about battletoads, but that fucking mine level from TMNT was hell, in an actual game. Battletoads was just badly coded trash
AC6 Expansion, hopefully
i played battletoads with my friend a long time ago, original nes he had, yeah shits hard
Like AC5 Verdict Day or
also nes controllers are so light they feel like they could float away
I know they said no DS4, but where's my DS4
elden ring 2, erdtree bogaloo
its just not the same
What's Nightreign then
boss rush simulator
roguelike
should i play Elden Ring
the first xbox ninja gaiden game was also great. I never owned the original NES ninja gaiden for some reason.
i skipped it
Nightreign doesn't look like my cup of tea
Solid game, but honestly too big for me personally
elden ring is good but its definitely different for a souls game
I don't even like the prospect of shrinking maps in general
honestly I thought so too but Nightreign is easily my 2nd favorite fromsoft title rn
Have bulwark shield look like this roughly for the breakable hitzones.
It's the jump key and open world environment, isn't it
I like dedicated locations intertwined with each other like DS. ER doesnt really have that same feel except in their dungeons
honestly elden rings open world feels kinda empty
well also item crafting, and being built off the back of sekiro's engine not the older souls games
so much area but really not a ton going on
Elden Ring is just Dark Souls 2 2, which is peak.
also ER is easier
tbf, back to back legacy dungeons from DS did give a more organized feeling
You have so much stamina in ER
But sometimes, you just want to actually explore ya know
Not to mention the copy and pasted bosses.
elden ring is the easiest souls game by a good margin, broken weapon arts make the game pretty brainless for tons of bosses
People be shit-talking triple stam curios, but Sure-Footed gets stronger the more max stamina you have.
shadow of the colossus is the better game
does mean you get loads of whack crap for build variety though which is great
my playthrough of elden ring was an int/faith build which I have never done in a souls game before
ds2 had great magic
what a time to do it too
ds3 magic builds were kinda doodoo
I wish they brought back more of the cool Dark Souls 2 covenants and gimmicks.
they were strong early but fell off pretty fast
Rat Covenant was silly
Dex/Faith builds were a ton of fun though
i never bothered much with magic on ds3, mostly dex/strength/quality builds
from soft going into dark souls 3 very clearly had an "everything dark souls 2 did was bad so throw it all out"
Also, Dex/Luck with hallowed jewel
and that included regressing the magic
ds2 had climax though, nothing better than shooting the host of a fightclub with climax and 1shotting them, then getting a message on xbox 360 calling you the nword 30 times
The only thing the melk gacha reliably gives me more copies than I can actually use.
I have fond memories of DS2 pvp with forbidden sun spammers
Because I just used the shield that could parry spells lmao
So they would just kill themselves
the forbidden sun build was a good meme build, kill someone in like 2 giant fireballs
All the fight clubs on Iron Bridge. Good times
Point and laugh at Zealot for his shitty attempt at a pickpocket skill.
👉🏻
yeppp
I still can't BELIEVE they nerfed the fucking ultra greatsword golf swing
I find that stacking up as much attack speed as possible makes the chaxe extremely funny.
god i was so toxic on ds2, deserved for a lot of those people though tbh
jesters robe, minotaur helm for max poise, no stagger, dagger for backstab fishing
disgusting
backstab fishing when ghost ring, or turtle armor
My favorite combo was the fact that you could powerstance Butcher’s Knife main hand with an offhand Zweihander. R1 true combo’d into an L1
jesters robe served the same function, thats usually what i used because turtle was heavy and i needed the ringslot in pvp
i had thousands of invasions of ds2 pre scholar of the first sin
Don’t forget the funny crit gloves
honestly i usually ended up using havels gauntlets because i needed the poise and defense
I also remember doing bow shenanigans in dark souls 2 pvp
you could infinite someone with the bows in that game if you got a headshot
i remember when you could stack great magic barrier and all the other broken as fuck buffs
this chat rn
and just kept headshotting them
Dark Souls 2 is still probably my favorite souls game ngl
and then in elden ring you see some fuckboy doing that and you just law of causality them
the greatest idea ever was soul memory. oh you just hit 13 million souls total? looks like you go into the pool with the people who have a few billion
I miss solo invasions
or wait no other one
law of...regression?
yeah law of regression
turn any turbo juicer in PvP into an immediate black crystal user
i always kept black crystal on my hotbar
soooooo many ganks it was disgusting
also very satsifying to have a gank group chasing you then black crystal out infront of them
so many hate messages
+24% attack with 3 stam curios seem like a silly thing I now want to try.
Not even including the cartel stimm
Is Hypercritical supposed to
do something?
Or rampage
kills stuff
On average, it means one less hit to kill a guy.
should do something for most kills if you're built correctly
I can´t say I noticed the difference really
Crit spamming appears to be genuinely easy to do as scum compared to classes.
probably more noticable on big elites and shit
yea it's super op
yeah they can literally get 100% crit chance
so
hyper crit is most noticable on the low tier elites like gunners and ragers imo
For multiple hits, too.
youkill them so much faster
however the fuck
ive only used hv so far
Zealot wishes it had a fraction of scum's crit chance steroids
You can put additional stamina on weapons with a high stamina profile.
Getting to an average of 50% crit chance with scum is pretty reliable
I hit a rager twice with a crit to a weakspot and he was still living, isnt the point to one shot?
only problem is it requires work and for that reason im out
or am I misunderstanding
hyper violence means that if you ever critically hit an enemy for more than half of their remaining health they just outright die
ur crit atk needs to do >50% of enemy's remaining hp for hypercrit to be considered
I mean, you can reliably hit 70% crit chance just by spamming left click with a TAxe
Brain off
right but it requires putting down a crate or something
I see
Nah. Just dependency and the right blessings.
The crate is optional™
But would ramp it even higher
crate giving stim effect without it being off cooldown now is pretty strong though
Dependency alone gives you 15-20% crit chance.
20% from dodging with that node near the top of the talent tree
Crit chance can be boosted further with the tax node you have to take to access pickpocket/hyper crit, stimms and the blessings on the weapon itself
And Taxe has that blessing that gives free crit chance on hit
So...
Left click to win
what about carapace
and is this good with bonesaw?
Use the toxin on crit node.
1 billion toxin stacks murders crushers in a few seconds
dot 🤮
The DoT helps but you get most of your damage from the crit spam and hits
its either just proximity or its calculated with time spent out of coherency with people
maybe i should ask the loner zealots
loner zealots dont exist
That and the whole point of applying tox with the crit spam is to decrease the CD on the stimm with sample collector
It's great but it's a tax if you want to run a more useful aura
damn imperium with their constant taxes
By default, scum already has so much crit chance baked in that 5% crit for the whole team is kinda meh compared to a 2nd source of extra melee damage or even more ammo for the team
Wish it was a rending buff instead of a crit chance buff
why not take it? its not like youll be taking ammo
I mean, 5% for the team is still good and 10% if a Psyker runs theirs is REALLY good
i think the 5% team crit + pickpocket meaning you dont pick up ammo is more valuable than ammo share
Ill try this, thank you
Pickpocket is only infinite ammo for you.
yea
and thats more pickups for them
hive scum is just psyker minus psyker btw few know this
Unless everyone else is running either a psyker or another scum, I will never not see a reason to just take gunslinger improved instead.
the blunt mode could use a bit of tune ups tbh
i think its just a math thing
you not requiring ammo pickups at ALL means that the vets and ogryns can take every pickup for free
ammo you dont take is still 'shared' among your team, just not explicitly stated in a handy little perk tooltip
Shovel superiority
hivescum doesn’t have psword they’re bottom 1 class fr fr
idk i never really have ammo problems til like h30 or something so the notion of needing an ammo aura is super lost on me. only matters if im intentionally playing and excessively shooty class
I can't get mine to 2 shot crushers, no matter how hard I try...
using*
im still saying
the crowbar feels anemic unless youre going full melee
is that not what the pinned one is?
it is but thats still a problem
save me techpriest
do we light spam or charge heavies with crowbar
outside of rampage with only a few damage buffs, a heavy sweep will be hard pressed to kill a poxwalker as the first hit
Thing is, gunslinger also buffs ammo pickups for everyone involved, and not just be another player to feed ammo into. While a psyker helps with overall ammo consumption, they don't literally generate more ammo from nothing.
takes like 3-4 heavies with the claw side without rampage
personally i was disappointed that the crowbar couldnt even summon a single goddamn crow to fight for me
yeah crowbar seems bad compared to shivs that can 1shot two crushers at the same time
At least the crusher is being dragged along towards you rather than prepping for a big overhead swing.
Probably the only reason I'd use it
But I'd rather that the crusher die instead, since the animation takes too damn long
yeah with my shiv build they die in 1-2 hits max after a couple stacks of uncanny
Shovel superiority
They could've given scum a shovel and it'd make the crowbar a mere novelty
Please FS
Give me my flip shovel
I beg
Granted, ogryn latrine shovel
the game spawns (relatively, the director gives and takes) the same amount of ammo. having 4 people that need ammo pickups means everyone struggles. having a psyker that doesnt need ammo doesnt generate ammo, yes, but thats one less person dipping into the mission's ammo pool
i think the crit chance, while a simple buff, is more valuable. not only are you not dipping into the pickup supply while using pickpocket, but you're also giving them (and especially you) more damage with which to not waste ammo
gunslinger feels nice to bring but is outshone by the other two and made irrelevant if taking pickpocket
Those can still oneshot crushers
Yea but it’s comically big for a hs
psykhanium needs a function to refresh your stim so you dont have to wait on it when testing
chug those celerity stims
cant lol
ability to instantly eat stims on the floor with cartel special when
it wont ever happen
This is where I petition FS to add a new category of shovel called the *Große Schaufel"
You wield the shovel like a relic blade
crazy how strength and rending do almost nothing for the crowbar on crushers
they really do tho
compare crowbar during rampage vs out of rampage
fatshark will never give shovel to any other class than vet
im testing without rn
besides ogryn but we dont talk about that
Wish there was another way for HS to interact with map stimms than oddly stare at a med stim while only having a single wound left, pleading and begging your team to drug you with your consent.
Totally not me
i think its fine that you cant pick up map stims when you have your own self replenishing stim
I had a game once where I just instantly stabbed stims into the nearest hivescum because I was the only vet and the other 3 were hive scum
At least let us jab the map stimms upon interacting with them
no
they should let you use concentrations or something in psykhanium for testing
Like, immediately
thats part of the tradeoff
or instant regen or something
I shit you not, in a damnation lobby
I was Scum with one wound left, I come across a stim and ping it for my teammate and begin typing in chat
The Vet with 3 wounds, no corruption but only 1 wound of health takes it and jabs it in him, I contemplated continuing to play for a solid minute after witnessing that
i can see that being uses for toxicity too
oh i cant use this stim, better use it instantly
I've been taunted by med stimms showing up more frequently when I play scum than when I play literally any other class
And with how common the blight modifier is for havoc
and you have like all non scum teammates with no stims on them
crazy how the stat that multiplicatively increases all damage does nothing for a weapon that does damage
I want more corruption cleanse
if youre not using rampage it doesnt add that much
and its really effective
crate is good for blight
crazy how reading works
Or you know, just use stimm supply.
helps you run through puddles
Stimm supply gives you temp corruption immunity
or deal with them
Perfect for stray hexbound DH
yeah
Corruption puddles
you cannot make me equip that ability
i refuse
Corruption immunity for 15s
i enjoy having fun in the video game
khaby lame mechanism build
Think of all the dirty doodoo you ignore
melee supremacy
It's like strolling into a dogpark knowing your jays won't ever even be tainted by a random brown landmine
dot bad
cole knows just how broken stimm supply can be
crowbar doesn't clear the screen instantly and delete all bosses in the area at the same time
needs buffed
yeah stim supply is literally bugged in the players favor right now
Boom bringer should've been an equippable secondary instead of a blitz
may it remain so forevermore
Gotta give people a reason to buy the brand new class 👌
yeah crowbars like a 2shot minimum
You screw them over after the hype (if scum had any) dies down
not bad but eh
Shovel supremacy
what the fuck does this mean
fox
what fucking genre is fox
What the hell even is this
when did i play an open world survival crafting game
blunt side clears gunners thats for sure
And where is it from
My biggest spike on this thing is just "Dwarf"
that you played alot of witchfire?
I mean I like dwarf fortress, but they could've been subtler about it
not that much
my biggest spike is souls like, then cyberpunk... both of those make sense... but then i also have hunting? idk why i have hunting
need to play it more
tragic. great game
i only started it like a few months ago
and its still in early access so im taking my time cuz they keep adding new stuff
Bro said a few months
i just restarted another character for the new update
yeah??
average folk around here got more time than that in on darktide in the last week
i know i literally said i barely played it
I know. just messing with you bro chill
lol i've had witchfire for like a year and only have 40 hours on it for the same reasons tbh, it being not totally finished yet
at any rate they are pretty much done adding stuff
still one more map and the story mostly is whats left to my understanding
I know there's another map coming at launch but I don't know about any story
what am I looking at
Tunic I think?
i don't mean like... alot of story but they talked about adding more stuff to flesh it out and things
I haven't played since they added the last update though. new melee stuff and a few more weapons
WAIT.... the reason hunting was a spike on my graph is because of monster hunter... that is so dumb
it definitely needs more. it's amazing as is but needs more maps and whatnot. I hope they continue developing on it
you probably going to regret looking that up bro
I don't know what it is but I have an idea and it's not likely anything most people.. sample..
i love monster hunter man... Tide, EDF, and Monster Hunter are my beloved franchises
ok the fox genre is literally playing as a fox
should have refunded it
would prolly need to restart when i do
It's not a genre, it's a steam tag
oh god
33? EXPEDITION 33 REFERENCE????7?7?7?
ainz had like 1724 sessions
you guys have me beat for this year on tide play time, i've taken too many breaks
i also play WAYYYY too many different games tbh
ive been doing my yearly nioh 2 replay again
Game too hard
you didnt even play renegades when it released lmao
yeah
i still havent
and im guessing nowhere in the future
no idea
winter break is a good time to knock games out of my backlog
i just beat unbeatable the other day and that one was pretty good, had been looking forward to its release for a while
CURSE YOU BAYLE
thats gogmazios
oh my gog
i need to do the gog stuff, just uninstalled darktide so i could install MH wilds and do the fight
im liking it so far, but its definitely a little janky in parts with the UI
and the animations
do you actually aim to get achievements or does that happen naturally for you?
i ignore achievements
it was fun but imo i didnt like the way the story headed, that was probably the biggest let down for me
depends, usually if im replaying a game im going for achievements
but nothing in the game matched how fucking awesome this sequence was
i platinumed paradigm and clair obscur
does the story include the songs from the demo, so far i havent heard any of my favorites from the demo
I find getting on VOIP, addressing non-Scum by name, and asking them nicely to stim you in low intensity situations works like 70% of the time
that makes sense
did you like proper rhythm
yes, but I understand if that one isnt there
expect a remix of it
sicko mode
I think i have a problem cause i blow all the steam medians WAY out of the water
lol yours looks like mine
no but i know about it
its sorta wario ware like right
||https://youtu.be/7JbQ_re5XNc?si=gD8weQsYpaf7yX7p&t=100||
spoilers in terms of yknow, whats happening on screen
but i timestamped all dialogue out
did we ever figure out what fox actually meant?
that doesn't make sense lol... how are starfox and epistory related tho
I love how hateable the social media twins are
the only thing i can think of would be nine sols but that one still doesnt make sense cuz the race of the main character would be more like cat-people-things
Hi. I primarily play on the HK server due to ping reasons.
How do you communicate that to players with simplified chinese, japanese or korean usernames in a timely manner
grunts
go to the main store page on steam theres a yearly replay thing
ping the stim and spam "i need healing" from comm wheel?
oh wait i misunderstood
How much cleave does the crowbar have at base value?
nah that's probably over like 5-6 years
Tried that. The thieving little magpies just took it for themselves
rip
Bold of you to assume the comm wheel is actually working at that current moment.
since unlike the arcade, you dont slowly heal by hitting notes, this part fucked me up hard since i played on expert
its a long stretch with lots of tricky parts on that difficulty which slowly whittled me down
no shot I could ever put that kind of time into any game over even 2-3 years. that's ridiculous
yeah idk, i agree with you on them being more cat people... maybe it goes off of play created tags and people are dumb?
I have one with more but that number spread is nice to look at
oh
ive had a few times already on expert (the difficulty the dev plays on it says when you pick it) that ive debated turning it down, just cause its tough to even move my fingers fast enough for some of the songs that are fights with cops
i need some name sugestions for my crack head woman, any ideas?
I mean if you get into an MMO and actually play it regularly over it's multi decade lifespan without burning out, yea you can log crazy numbers
Tweaker Bell
but I think the amount of time I have into that game specifically is quite a bit. cuz it's not an mmo
what a crazy reason for them to say you like fox games
flintlock was fun as just like a "i need a parry game right now i dont need it to be stellar"
but i played it for like 24 hours total
how is that defining enough for an entire genre
big fox is obviously paying off steam to push an agenda
parryslop
that's generic af
that looks ok, but yeah if i want a parry game i'll sit down and finally beat sekiro (i'm the worst parry game player ever so i keep stopping halfway through)
Ahhh SEA player. I grieve for you, my friend
That is a pickle
it helped when i started thinking about the parry button like a kickpeddle on a bass drum
it is but it had some cool bits in the systems, but not enough to take it to status higher than parryslop
did you know that nioh 3 will have deflecting
here's a rhythm, parry, gravity puzzle game that i found really good if you havent already played it
Explore the twisting passages and alleys of the Halls, a liminal manifestation of the subconscious of many.
After clicking a shady looking hyperlink and filling out a survey, you find yourself in a non-sensical place where gravity implies no "up" or "down." The unfortunate residents encourage you to find your way out by facing your regrets and…
$12.99
494
i enjoyed it enough to finish it on the hardest difficulty
big ass
that too
425,640, 7094, 295 days in my most played
jesus christ
Sounds like Sekiro
its more puzzly than it is combat
Oh.
it literally has rhythm as a tag
its more rhythm game in its fights too, especially the bosses
so id assume its like
actual music rhythm
expedition 33 is a parry game
have you played Nine Sols
not a rhythm game but metroidvania like hollow knight
focusing on parries
it looks interesting. but I've never been able to bring myself to try it
paré*
I still vividly remember the time I was deceived into playing a rhythm game masquerading as a fromsoft soulslike
ive no hit the true final boss
okay cool
you say that like its a bad thing I loved it, though I will never fight demon of hatred again
It took me until Genichiro round 2 electric boogaloo before I realized.
Yeah, screw that.
considering how hard it sweeped every award that exists
i think the game might be good and you should play it
my fav "hahah rhythym game now" moment was the secret ending of drakengard that branches off into nier lore
perhaps. I just don't know if it's "interesting enough"
i grabbed e33 because everyone praised it and its very fun but the exploration part almost kills the experience for me
Gyobu had so much aura, every one of his voice actors earned their paychecks
Smack Dealer
I've heard it can be.. droning
why is it not interesting enough
MY NAAAAAME
It took me so long to learn how to fight the purple ninja troops around Ashina that I genuinely thought I was being brickwalled by the game
cole the noob not shooting to remover shields
as far as worldbuilding and exploration goes it do not comes even remotely close to something like bg3 like its not even in same universe
the praise made me want to treat it like i do other games that get that much praise from certain sources... i'll wait and play it in 4 years and if its actually good i'll still have a fun time during a game release drought
I said I don't know if it is. I really need to watch some gameplay. it's one of those things that caught my eye but hasn't really given me the fever
this is the recording of my literal first run of the boss ever
And then the red ones showed up and told me "haha, I hope you bash your head trying to kill the dual katana internal ministry troops"
well i mean i just posted the first boss
In my own sooong!
Yeah... oh yeah,
Yeah... oh yeah...
you should know all of the game mechanics the moment you play
what kind of noob has a first boss run
pros all start on their 3rd at least
yea I've seen some fight scenes but I'm more interested in the "day to day" so to speak. like how things play out between bosses and what the actual gameplay is besides the fights
i do think you would like nioh cole
i think the gameplay between bosses is cool
it looked very cutscene heavy in the stuff I've watched
nioh feels like ds2
i've had nioh 1 and 2 for like... years and never played either
nioh was nuts
DS2 is a great game with some terrible sections to it
good but lots of borderline bullshit for difficulties sake
does "Long Lasting" apply to effects you get from a chem box? what about Blessed Stims?
i havent had any issues with nioh 2 this time even though i die in 3 hits
just gotta dodge and block
learn ki pulses
learn flux
learn your moveset
learn moves with iframes
learn burst counters
learn onmyo magic
this has nothing to do with hivescum at all
learn enemy movesets
longform git gud
who's down for some missions
become proficient
this is zealot chat 2
seek expertise
get used to it
hivescum probably have trouble staying on track when talking about anything so i think this is hivescum releated talks tbh
nioh 1 is like so SO much harder than nioh 2
Nay.
Psyker chat, but with half the complexity
the story, visuals, and music is stellar
they heavily spice up how you kit out your character out with their build with pictos, various effects like halve damage taken, but cant be healed, +crit chance on burning enemies, 50% chance to deal either 50% or 200% damage, and winning fights with them lets you slot them into other characters within a weighted budget you can expand with materials
exploring around nets you these pictos and materials, as well as new weapons with effects that heavily change how you may play around that characters combat mechanic
theres plenty of puzzles and minigames found in other parts of the world too
fair 😭
because the devs found it funny to put a boss as your second story mission which can paralyze you with almost all of its atacks
This truly is Zealot chat 2.0
its cuz im here
i literally started this convo about other games
howdy
i assumed it just added 5 seconds to any stimm effect at all, tho maybe i'm wrong and dumb
No, and possibly; For stimm supply, it lasts for the duration of the box while in its radius. No interaction with Long Lasting.
Long Lasting doesn't affect med stimms, but affects all other types afaik.
esquie my beloved
i dont think the esquie plush is as big as the ingame version
Friends, I do wish to say. The sky is in fact above us all.
this feels like biomutant based youtube poop
it is you who shall be annihilated!
I’m so sad that game was hot ass
clair obscur also has some pretty funny moments
wheres the iconic scene
E33 has some hysterical moments to balance out the times it’ll make you cry

yeah i didn't try it until more recently and... it has just... alot of problems getting in the way of fun
how much time in, say, a 2 hour window is cutscenes? and how "linear" does it feel?
CLAIR OBSCUR EXPEDITION 33 All Cutscenes (Full Game Movie) 4K 60FPS Ultra HD includes the full story, ending and final boss of the game. The game was played, recorded and edited by Gamer’s Little Playground team. We recorded the game in 4K 60FPS on Steam PC. In short, the video includes the full game, ending and all story related scenes. The v...
7 hours
rookie numbers
like for me, there's times when I want an interactive movie but I'm just not in that mode currently lol

they are really good tho
the cutscenes are amazing
i dont think they overstay their welcome
how many hours was mgs4?
it has main areas you get through that usually open up into a small open world area that have many branching side areas that then you can go to the amin path area after exploring enough to then open up into another open area etc
Id watch that..
9 hours
its like tiny tinas wonderlands wasy its map worked
yeah but i also fought a boss earlier than i should have and it took 30 minutes straight
play it instead mes ami
I watch rdr2 20hr cutscenes
having done the boss medal in mgs4 I can tell you the "game" is definitely beatable in 3.5 hours but it's like a 60 hour game
the real question is if it makes sense with just cutscenes
Too busy in dt
Sprong:
death stranding 1 with its 11 hours
ok so still somewhat open
no
i dont think it will
Those arent just cutscenes prob
RDR2 is the most "this is a movie not a game" a game has ever felt to me, like even when you're playing it feels like it puts its presentation over the actual game play (i love the game tho this isn't me calling it bad)
theres plenty of moments where important stuff happens in actual gameplay
the game has alot of exposition and lore that arent told within cutscenes
They are game movie bc they include gameplay and dialogue in it
do you think i described it well enough @novel oracle
Someone hasn't played Metal Gear Solid 4
yea that's another cutscene heavy game
but it's enjoyable when you have that itch
yeah
Its been awhile since a game has really hit me like the end to RDR2 did
yeah pretty much
RDR2 is best game of decade
i have alot, that doesn't feel like a movie, it feels like a kojima art exibition like all his work tends to lol, its got the same vibe as when you go to a contemporary art place and they have an interactive exhibit
Snake talks to the colonel through the codec.
Not perfect but idc.
ah the original
the ending of clair obscur has probably been one of the best endings to a game in a long time and i cant even tell you anything as to why it was good other than it is because that would completely ruin the ending
back when you had to unplug your controller and remove the memory card to interact with the mechanics
the story in its entirety is just amazing
i want it, i need it
same... just pretending i'm not waiting for it because the wait is terrible... i like death stranding more than the mgs series tbh
i want Ghost of Yotei on my PC too
good endings are crucial
https://youtu.be/O91YcZWcUVY?si=pIvnJ_FjHD9XdbsV tell me that isn’t the wildest form of exposition in a game ever.

finally being able to use guns since there are robot enemies
ive also seen nothing of the story lmao
after the first death stranding I just can't
this game is so stupid sometimes lmao
a good ending can make what would be just an okay game into something people remember fondly in the future
oh i know im on the final act
Alan wake has best musical in game
to me this is a sign of a bad ending, i've never seen a good ending that can actually be ruined by knowing it before the story
bro what the fuck is this
the gestrals
its Clair Obscure
trust me it will genuinely ruin your experience
the game is best experienced blind
alrighty then
because it ruins everything before
The best part about clair obscure is when you find the next boss that you shouldn't be fighting that 1 shots your entire party
Clair Obscur is a game you genuinely don't want to be spoiled for
the story is integral to fully enjoy the game
then its a bad ending, its like twists. if your movie is ever ruined by an audience member knowing the twist before the viewing then you've failed to make a good twist and just put in something as a shock reveal to trick viewers into thinking it was good
this game is literally the silliest thing half the time

pink sheep
this is another thing I heard. that is places some steep difficulty cliffs in weird areas
it definitely makes it harder, i went in with an IDEA of what it could be (I was right) I wouldnt say it ruined my experience it just changed how i read into things happening and saw them I think its incredible either way
Because part of what makes it so good is how it completely throws your expectations for a loop when you least expect it.
clair obscur is a traditional turn based rpg
and takes heavy inspiration from ff8
FF8 ending is a great example of a good ending and good twist that doesn't ruin anything by knowing it before hand
i was so dumb because i didn't like ff8 when it first came out, played it later as an adult and its just... one of the best final fantasy games
...but a twist never has the same oomph to it if you see it coming.
This game rides on those twists.
its the favourite final fantasy game of the director too
Id say you get a different kind of enjoyment being able to see how they hinted at it before hand
its always foreshadowed somehow
if you rely on the oomph to the point where your story has something taken away from it then its not a good story
always its like a chief storytelling principle or something
the infamous fetch quest. "I'll help you save the world. if you go fetch me a rock"
its got an amazing story
except Esquie isnt lying
Is this build good for the TacAxe? moved some stuff around on Cole's build to skip the blackout grenades and pick up sample collector instead
my archnemesis stole it
françois
hes my neighbor, over there
I knew about one of the major influences on clair obscure and thought I knew what it was about. turns out, I should have stuck with dark souls 3
yeah, any good story worth anything will craft the story so there is value even if you have the knowledge like how you are saying. I'm not saying there isn't value in a first time impact of a twist or something but that it should never be so overshadowing of the rest of the art as to "ruin it"
Tbf I don't think that's truly the implication. That it just ruins the entire story.
Almost everything Esquie says sounds like gibberish if you're just listening, but if you think about it they're actually saying some wise shit
I mean they typically aren't ever lying. it's just the most trivial, mundane shit you can think of.. being placed between you and saving the universe from annihilation or some shit
fetch quests are ridiculous. but I get it. not too many ways to motivate people to go places
i loved esquie
why do you have toxin?
noone likes people who spoil stuff, regardless of how impactful you think the spoilers are
But for some, given the kind of game it is, it can definitely worsen the experience. It doesn't actually take away from how good the story is.
i wasn't saying to go around saying endings randomly, but more the exact wording of "it will ruin it" lol
Some stories really are just better experienced blind imho
And Clair Obscur fits the bill for that criteria.
both the inspiration I talked about and clair obscure are experiences just as much as they are carefully crafted narratives. you cheapen your own enjoyment if you let yourself get spoiled.
Im sorry guys, Darth Vader is...... Working with the empire!
maybe you shouldnt worsen the narrative experience of both the narrative goty and overall goty
yea i guess thats exaggeration but it still makes the experience much worse
Better to not have it?
i think its a sign of lacking media literacy if it cheapens your enjoyment. Part of that literacy is suspension of certain pieces of knowledge, part of it is what you are actually gaining from the media. Its almost insulting to say that an understanding of a piece of art cheapens ones experience of it... it should only grow with understanding otherwise the art is failing in some way (thats not to say bad art isn't great and can't be enjoyed still, i love bad art)
I was reading above about the toxin stuff enabling the toxin mania
But wasn't sure if it's better to just skip it lol
crit on toxin works well on taxe cuz it has innate crit chance and swings fast
with float, stat node, and innate class and taxe crit chance youre at
I know Cole's build is built around the blackout grenades that trigger the toxin but I can never seem to regenerate them properly
like what
cole wanna see something fnny
47% crit chance
gotta be agressive be be agressive
what
I am!!! I just think the toxins are stealing my kills lmao
