No I use my ring finger for shift because Warframe isn't intensive enough to require access to all movement keys within milliseconds

It's not 100%, and your team will often fuck it up, but a lot of bad rranged rooms can be mitigated with proper macro positioning
dodging, positioning. get behind cover, back track. you can force gunners to reposistion. they lose line of sight for awhile, they will advance, and while they're advancing they are alot more vulerable. less accurate-- not entrenched.
you have to be clever
that pub teams won't do, they'll run out into the middle of a million unners, die, then complain there's no counteplay

if you find yourself constantly getting gunned down by ranged, while fighting melee enemies, you are doing something wrong. get a better position. dodge more often. dont get surrounded. leave yourself an out. kite the melee guys, and kill the ranged. and again like i said, make the ranged enemies relocate by losing their line of sight

I mean you don't need all 3 for non-melee focused builds. Burst of energy + one other is usually enough on most builds, although for melee builds all 3 is basically mandatory.

You'll get that from middle tree without you having to use an item or waste your stim tree so thats probbaly better to grab
and even then its iffy cause toughness regen is shutoff when enemies are next to you
a gun build gets alot of toughness through gun kills and potentially blessings, melee gets alot of toughness through hitting and killing stuff, and a chem build gets alot of toughness from chem kills and also depandancy if you get hte node, so extra toughness on stim isn't needed outside of giving it to teammates

The melee slide dodging is also really strong cuz you can slide to dodge melee and ranged simultaneously
This is especially strong when carrying a capsule or something (btw desperado speed is goated for this), or using stripped down on the needle pistol and spam sliding, the stamina profile still gives you a net positive when doing so

6 pistol shots to the chest should be more than enough to stagger something, mobility would be the second c hoice to dump but you'd probablygety way more value from the 20 extra mobility

The penance counts coherency regen and the toughness replenish nodes in the stim tree, while the toughness regeneration buff in the stim tree applies to only coherency regen.
The issue for the penance is that coherency regen sucks. You need to run 3x 30% toughness regen speed curio perks, be near your team constantly, not have any enemies in a melee slot, and not cap out your toughness from other talents while your stim is active for it to count anything
You can hold A or D to look diagonal to where you are sprinting
the fundamental problem is that the way scum works, you're either at full toughness, or not in a scenario where coherency regen can do anything for you
and there's no middle ground
oh wait im stupid even if coherency works I have like 200 toughness so the % will barely go up on the penance regardless
I wanted it to be good, I even ran the curio perks, but getting all the way to level 30, I managed like 200/2600 on that penance
I’m at like 1500 now just farming bomber fire patches
