speedload on the dual smgs makes them actually bearable which is nice, their base reload is awful
like you're capped on reload speed at a certain point.
You can pretty easily get +28% atk speed reliably from tree, without rampage
Hyperviolence also scales super well with BM
And since it doesn’t scale well with chemist talents u can just skip them and get nicer things elsewhere in tree to max melee dps

Don't forget there are plenty of nodes for reload speed + reload speed stim
this works just fine but you can swap out scattershot for flechette if you prefer.

Adrenaline seems so good. Besides the immunity to damage part of the vulture tree i think its the best keystone overall (but of course any gun focussed builds should still grab vultures still i just mean in terms of relative value)
btw, am I the only one who uses Coated Weapon on a non-toxin build just to get my Custom Stimm quicker?

You can dump either stability/mobility/damage
guns are decently held back by needing to dodge to get a lot of your damage perks to activate, and sometimes you're just not having to dodge anything even on higher difficulties.

Maybe if you stack ranged damage nodes you could make the initial damage kill a pox walker in a few shots. But the poxwalker is already dead after one shot no matter the diff so im unsure what the utility of that is. And those nodes arent very useful on a needler build beyond in your face which for some reason is raising my tox damage despite no other ranged damage nodes doing so.
Maybe to trigger the aoe tox faster?

See I'm one of those players that performs okay and can usually throw stuff together and it works. But I don't know a lot of the math that takes place. Like for instance, I still don't know what Rending does 
I understand. I think it is one of the biggest problems, and actually one of the biggest learning curves of this game

Well im basically always hitting (humanoid) enemies for more than half thier HP with them, so I dont see why it supposedly isnt. The only major exeptions are Maulers and Plasma gunners/Cara Ragers if you dont dome them

For example, dealing 700 damage with a critical melee hit to an enemy who has 1800 current health will not proc an instakill because the enemy's remaining health of 1800-700=1100 is greater than 700. However, dealing 950 damage to an enemy who has 1800 current health will proc the instakill because the remaining health of 1800-950=850 is less than 950.

Bosses tbh, stack up Brittleness, shoot with launcher for big chunk of HP gone, you can proc DoT with it too, and toxic DoT is easy to come by in melee too

"Dead imminently" doesn't work when the damned thing takes like 2 seconds to draw and charge up before it fires

Ehh, Ive not had issues with the draw speed myself, but yes the charge time is a little annoying, but you can work around it. Its great for clearing a bunch of Crushers or Bulwarks off someone for a res for example

Hello I was wrong about reload speed being bugged but it's literally so diminished after 30% that it's literally not noticeable past it rn and also speed loader doesn't stack with the talent speed load so um yeah

Basically, weapons have a damage value, and then each attack has modifiers for all 6 types of enemy armor (Unarmored, Infested, Flak, Carapace, Unyielding, Maniac). There's no armor values or damage reduction or anything like that (normally). It's just a multiplier based on the attack and the enemy's armor type.
