There's just something about having a 40 minute run and 3500 kills that just feels... well pretty darn good

its incredibly misleading and encourages toxicity and bad play

higher number is usually exclusively worse in this game

a game with 30 deaths that you barely complete in over an hour will have far more damage than the literal best player who speedruns an auric damnation in 12 minutes

and ive absolutely played with people who comment on peoples scores after a game

it is fun and nice to see your numbers and how good you did, but its "fake"

the game director spawns things as fast as you can kill them

this results in a large amount of "padding" of stats that isnt really reflective of being more effective

There are kinda really hard to suppress. And that is even if the other players decide to shoot the gunner. Also just hope that all 6 gunners only shoot one person

Gunners can be disabled very briefly if you repeatedly shoot at them or anywhere near them to break up their attack cycle

the issue is most players dont bother and usually tend to suicide charge only to get gunned down

Its a lot smarter to do what you did and just hide + take potshots though

Most of the time unfortunately however its usually unlucky team composition or not having a player thats properly equipped to deal with a large group of them

the thing is its very useful but also situational like, well, actual smoke grenades

It has neat shit like forcing trappers to come like 1-2m to you to even attempt to capture you, same with shooters who basically stop attacking all together and gotta move closer to even see you.

The issue is stuff like Krak tends to be more useful due to the damage/elite killing output so the smoke nades tend to be entirely shelved for the most part.

All 3. It entirely depends on the situation, the most useful it will be however is situations like the video you posted where you can go out into the open/where you are going to proceed from and throw it at your feet there.

You can see through the smoke very clearly yourself and the shooter AI will get confused and stand around aiming or not shooting half the time, buying you enough time for counter fire

the smoke also covers a pretty nice area so usually even 1 is enough.

Like I said its VERY slept on, I don't blame people for using krak at all but smoke very much has its uses. Its very much down to your playstyle.

most of the time it becomes a bit useless because most online teams tend to get psykers with a dome shield which does the job itself minus not making enemies attack you obviously.

So id prob suggest making a loadout for it and changing to it accordingly if you dont have a good defensive teammate

people use it for defense when it excels as a frontline tool, it's very useful for breaking into gunner territory

see an area chockfull of gunners, shooters and reapers? just throw a smoke smack dab in the middle, rush into it and watch as everyone loses aggro on you or blindfires into a general direction

it's immensely useful for hi intensity modifiers just because of this

you have to keep in mind though, it does not work on snipers (they wear funky goggles) nor any melee units (they target you anyway), so it's strictly a tool to help you disrupt or counter ranged enemies

it makes many "stand your ground" segments very easy to complete because shooters just stand and wait for you to come out
