carapace with counterfire and volleyfire up will 1 shot a crusher to the head within 13 meters

Alright, then you probably installed Nvidia driver for your GPU and with the driver it also came Nvidia GeForce Experience too. Within that there is something called ShadowPlay, basically Nvidia's own recording software built within the driver that comes with it.

one of the more important things is disabling steam overlay, same fix as from Vermintide 2 and it genuinely stabilizes performance for me and some other people to whom I suggested it
another thing is enabling upscaling options, XeSS gives best performance but needs an AMD graphics card to look correctly, otherwise use FSR 2
remember that upscalers only truly work from 1080p minimum, so you don't need to lower your resolution under 1080p AND use upscaling
if you want a weird way around this like me, put the game into windowed mode in a smaller resolution, then use Lossless Scaling from steam to upscale that window

I do appreciate the thought of giving players more confidence to not need the perfect weapon to do damnation and I've done that with weapons that I knew how to make good, but at the same time the stance of "it doesn't matter" is a really bad one to have because of blessings that stand out, like heavy sword's rampage giving up to 50% damage and headtaker giving up to 75% power, shattering impact on bolter being the way to crush crushers and pinning fire drastically increasing the bolter's ammo efficiency, pinning fire and blaze away being the defining blessings to make the shredder autopistol genuinely scary, and so on
Changing from the illisi to a dueling sword, my horde clear tanks so much it's ridiculous, and without uncanny strike there are enemies that are just painful to deal with

One of the psyker players did some checking and, if memory doesn't fail me, he found out that one of the best scenarios of a dueling sword is wrecked by a gray illisi
Well, I say wrecked because they had similar DPS clearing a horde of a specific number of poxwalkers
And it's just absurd when a gray weapon beats a fully upgraded one with good perks and blessings
I definitely wish we had the approach some people were mentioning in the comments, where gray weapons stand on their own and the blessings are more handy bonuses than build-defining

Honestly bm is a pretty nice blessing on midroll weapons, it just fundamentally alleviates the caxes "balancing". BM on caxe is like if hsword got a 100% brittleness uncanny strike, it just warps the entire weapon.

Darktide will possibly have a lifespan of like 3-4 years if you use Vermintide as a "framework".
