The one feat for Zealot only cares for crits and doesn't specify ranged or melee. For melee zealots it works pretty well if you are just spamming crits. But since it applies to ranged as well, having a blessed crit ranged weapon also gives you a lot of reduction as well
You'll mainly be doing melee but having the extra interactions on your ranged weapons as well just feels nice

I also own several knives with lacerate and other blessings that are actually relevant for the Knife playstyle of running at people and stabbing them in the head
And I'd absolutely whip these out in damnation or lower where you can afford to play like that and get away with it
Utility knife is just a more consistent playstyle in hi5, the volume of ranged enemies is high enough that the killing should be left to veterans

its even funnier when you realize that 5k+ is average pc playercount. most games stay stable at those numbers if they arent massive titles

For me I love crushers since their moves are slow and my axe is a can opener.
But Bulwark hitboxes plague me since you don't have the ability to break through their shield and it blocks all damage. I usually just kite bulwarks like you do but sometimes people just don't take them out when they are wide open.
Now I gotta learn to solo them boys with slides so I can do both ๐
