Cog is renowned for his resistance to plagues and poisons. He's credited with killing Plague Captain Divoc, a member of the Death Guard Traitor Legion- without becoming a vector through which the Plague Marine may infect his regiment.
He began the battle by shooting into the air- or rather, at the fuel tank in the floor above them, whose location the Ogryn insisted he knew beforehand- dousing himself and Plague Captain Divoc with burning fuel, allowing him to beat the traitor to death without getting infected.
He then spent two Terran years in convalescence, getting vat-grown skin, augmetic eyes and lungs to replace what he selflessly sacrificed to defeat an enemy of the Imperium. But his sacrifice earned him free beer whenever he goes to a Hive Guard bar.

That's not correct. The coat, helmet, etc is inspired by WW1 french military uniform. The only German bit is "Krieg", because "Death Guys of Guerre" doesn't have the same ring to it.
Plus the whole trench-warfare thing was very WW1
They do have stahlhelm style hats though because it better fits the gasmasks

IIRC GW actually talked about that themselves when they re-did the DKoK minis recently, and it was just because "Krieg" sounded cooler than the alternatives
Something I didn't know, but looking it up just now, the DKoK helmets themselves are actually closer to the Russian helmets, than german.
German helmets were smooth. Russian helmets had the "plume" bit the same as the french ones, but had the extended sides to surround the head a bit more
So DKoK inspiration is WW1 French uniforms + British gasmasks + russian hats
Then slap a load of roman imagery on everything, and the european love of grimdark funeralary stuff with skulls literally everywhere.
And it gives a good approximation of 40K xD

you could try the agripinaa VIII (however you spell it) autoguns. quite precise, a lot of damage, but more spray than aim, really.
