Press the special attack button and you will do a sort of guard animation. Right at the beginning if you take a hit you will block the attack and counter attack doing good damage. I think it costs a little stamina. After the beginning of the animation, lasting until the end it, there is a window of a less powerful parry, costing more stamina and dealing a little less damage I believe. Can think of these as a perfect parry and a normal parry. The Devil's Claw and the Dueling Swords both have these, and they function effectively identically.

The counter attack does good damage on both weapons, but any video or thread talking about instant kill mechanics with it, especially on bosses, are likely due to bugs or outdated information, to my knowledge.

i have to step away to gert some cleanign done. ill look at it in a min. if you have any other suggestions for h40 runs or auric, id appreciate anything helpful. i like psyker. i like hive scum too, but psyker just feels like better hive scum. but i got to get ready for my brother visiting for the holidays, and im a hermit. so i got some CLEANING cleanign to do, lol

can you explain to me whats going on here? you apply stacks with secondary fire, but what is the block doing in this combat loop

the push attack is always a weakspot hit, and has a 9m reach, and because of DoT interactions with held weaponry, it causes soulblaze to do far more than it otherwise would

it seems to make a little difference i guess

only really effective against mauler and crusher

but nice to know i have options for them now thats more reliable than what i was doing

just knowing i have a way to reliably trigger "on weakspot" stuff is worth it by itself. and i like the force sword anyway so that i can block ranged BS whaile i move arounf

it will also kill rager packs and such a little faster

its situationally dependent but ye its mainly for crushers overall, with their large HP pools and carapace core

works on monsters too tho

oh yea. thats more than enough for me. the fact that i get a good stun in the combo makes it worth doing even without the rending

i should be allowed to at least rename it myself instead of default name

Whats all the differences between staff smite and blitz smite?

staff does more dmg and only hits a few enemies

blitz doesnt do a ton of dmg, but can perma stun lock entire rooms

there are better optins for staffs

like........basically any staff is better

I dunno man, the voidblast rclick seems to take forever and fire staff works better in my fire build

inferno and voidblast do serve different purposes, tbh

voidblast is better for low density stuff like damnation and below
