Does the inferno staff apply soulblaze to bulkwarks even with its charged attack? I always assumed it deflected it fully since you get blue hit markers but I've seen people saying that the soulblaze effect applies it's just that the direct damage gets blocked

Yeah, I agree. Seer's Beloved has some deep lore knowledge that very few people know and a daemon probably wouldn't share even if it did know. I mean, stuff like, "My Beloved wants you to know what happened on Cadia wasn't your fault" is very empathetic for a daemon. There are also loads of lines about life on Terra, the Emperor's intents, and so on.

Though they also have:

"Sometimes I dream of an Impossible Fortress, floating on a sea of pink fire! A voice calls out to me, and it sounds so like my beloved I almost follow."

And

"We've all dreamed of the Impossible Fortress, with its twisting spires of formless crystal. Haven't we? Haven't we?!"

Seer can also, rarely, comment on the combat music starting when they get into battle or reference doing the same mission multiple times. They're knocking on the fourth wall. Maybe the playerbase is their Beloved. After all, they say stuff like, "Yes, Beloved, a medicae station" when you ping.

This is what i use. I run EK staff and force gs. Long as you keep killing elites/specialists you're in perpetual SG the enitre match, and can use both smite and EK carefree.

You will get a different answer about smite in this discord than you perhaps will elsewhere. Very many regulars here are regular Havoc 40 players who have a strong dislike of smite. I am among them. But if you enjoy it, go forth and shock things.

Though I would strongly advise using Smite judiciously. Use LMB to quickly shock and push enemies rather than holding RMB, and don't turn to Smite for every single encounter.

Ya, that's why it gets such a bad rap is because people just hold it as long as possible. Basically just turns enemies that could be giving your teammates buffs and toughness into solid walls trapping them in

A vast majority of Smite users just hold RMB. It works well enough in lower difficulties. It's not nearly as useful in higher difficulties, where you need big damage, especially with certain Havoc modifiers like Encroaching Garden. Or they'll just turn red and kill you.

Also, a Smite RMB user is largely immobile, and in Havoc that kills you.

I'm a big fan of assail ngl, gunners become a very big issue in higher difficulties and assail allows you to take them down while remaining completely mobile, and can be used in a pinch to get grunts off of you

Assail is good with many builds. Less good if you're already generating loads of peril with most staves

Assail is not an amazing long-range tool. It's decent, but usually you'll have teammates taking out enemies at range. Inferno has a 15m range and tons of suppression, plus Shriek to stagger, ER to maybe help you clear distance, or an aggressive bubble to charge through

I use Assail for close-range, loosely packed enemies when paired with Voidstrike

Or for keeping peril up with Meleeker

Or just always for gunker

It's exactly why my previously shown build follows the logic it does. O n l y on it do i use smite, and smite just makes up for the poxwalker hordes from a distance. Everything else, every big encounter is just EK m2 spam on permanent SG

There are a few maps where I feel like garbage without long range weapons, like Magistrati Oubliette or Dark Communion, because they have such open spaces

One thing I have found is that in many H40 groups, even randoms, people are good at filling their roles. I kill chaff and melee elites, the Ogryn saves me from Crushers and bullies bosses, the Veteran kills specials and ranged elites before I see them, the Zealot reads stories to the heretics, and the Arbiter runs off alone and gets confused when the team can't keep up.

Don’t remember the name of them but I know there are several that reduce peril cost in general which is great for smite since you generally only stop it once you reach 100% but with the other 2 blitz’s it seems like they don’t benefit as much/at all and there’s no other perk that buffs your blitz other than the 2 options that are next to them in the tree.

smite is also pretty much a terrible idea in auric or havocs

So see not only do you need correct items but items also have skills associated and special upgrades. So you randomly roll attributes on the item and then randomly get assigned how strong the attribute is. Then you can corrupt the item to prevent anymore upgrades but randomly get a really good final attribute. Unless it fails then you scrap it and start over.

There’s an online marketplace like WOW to get and exchange gear where the currency is the special item drops (there is multiple) that “upgrades” items by forcing attribute rolls

i now have firsthand experience that, indeed, the arby is not pay to win. arby died first in auric, rage quit. we literally got further with the bot than we did with him.

worst offense i've seen was 2 bots while spouse and i were doing grimoires. spouse needed medicae, was a room behind me, i was on botsitting duty. full medicae terminal. bot logic:
