Early on you're gonna struggle just because of lack of good gear and levels. The simplest low level playstyle is to grab Assail and Toughness on Warp Kill which will make Malice a breeze and Heresy doable. Besides that focus on the Mastery rank of your Psyker uniques including staves and their swords/greatswords. You might do alright with a Rashad Combat Axe early since all you need to enable it would be the Brutal Momentum blessing at lower diffs.

On high level + top gear Psyker plays a bit like a glass cannon with the caveat of having the best block in the game, instant stamina regeneration letting you abuse pushes/push attacks and a variety of other defensive options.

Psyker is the easiest to play (other than Ogryn) at high skill level but the hardest to play at low skill level
