You could also try the voidstrike staff, it has a lot of cleave and the charge attack staggers enemies. Essentially a deadly bowling ball.

If you're still leveling, Assail (right side blitz; green node) will be your main thing.
Psyker doesn't come together until they have access to basically all of their kit and staves suck until high investment.

The thing about smite is that it scales with density and it is a catlyst for other nodes in out kit in part because it very good at getting that last tick of damage. EP smite yes, but also get PC, psyk's aura, shriek, overpowering souls.

You can kill like 40 ragers in 8 seconds but the busted part is you are proccing all of the SB and turning off their AI. All of the talents working together.

DS4, knife and FGS are good melees.
Staves fall behind but if that's the way you want to go, inferno + uncanny melee is fastest magic. If you don't want to melee then inferno or EK.
Psyker is not a boss deleter tho.
