Purg SB cap is 15 (16 is the last hit is a crit). SB stacks last about 8 seconds and actively take on buffs including rending buffs. So you can get SB onto a boss, switch to melee and stab for awhile, puff at it with purg, then stab some more.
BUT DS4 already does good boss DPS, so you can just stab it without doing th fussy swappy things.

The problem was, with that build, you literally can’t do anything yourself. Smite won’t do dmg, EK staff can’t kill more than 1-2 guys per sec, and neither can the sword.

You should probably take ER because POTS doesn't do anything. You can change the perks and blessings on your ds too.
Wouldn't necessarily recommend toughness stacking on psyker. It does work but I'd consider if it's good for your play style personally

I started experimenting with a diff setup, basically I've always run a 2x toughness + 1x stam curio with 3x ER, Toughness, Stam regen as perks... but I traded the stam curio for another toughness curio and traded toughness as perk on curios for 3x efficiency

You can buy them from the brunt’s armory, and if you’re struggling to get the specific MK then you need to level up the weapon first to change the MK
