I've had Very Bad Times trying to do quickplay maelstrom. Got ASS with a premade team, was a grand old time. Tried a few public Maelstroms this week, decided it was more headache than it was worth

Just checked the Atheneum for the electrokinetic force staff and it has an extra bit about critical bonus being the bigger dump stat due to the bonus being lower. It also just makes sense now that I have more experience and I want to cast the RMB for it as often as I reasonably can.

With ER 60 warp resist is comfy. It sometimes feels like too much peril gen mitigation because of needing and wanting to shriek often.
Athenum isn't updated yet, but also Pygex's stance on dumping crit bonus has never settled nor been agreed upon in psyker chat.
Yes there is diminishing returns on crit chance, but also 80 crit bonus on surge staff is like a 5% crit chance perk.
So if 60 WR with ER feels like too much peril mitigation or close to it, then I'm definitely dumping WR and not crit bonus.
ER is strong enough that I comfortably played a match with a 17% WR trauma staff.

Even when I pick up the ER node, I feel like I want to cast more out of my Trauma staff. I dump quell speed ( preference but you can roast me on it ) because I feel it doesn’t make a difference since I’m always sliding and then quell. You can hate me for not dumping warp resistance

It's better to evaluate it in terms of how many ticks do you need to quell for between shots, as quelling from 100 > 0 and then starting to blast again compromises warp nexus and warp rider
