I recently had an auric damnation run with my Blaze Trauma Psyker. I'm not used to Trauma staves, since I haven't played with these much. Also I don't play that much damnation. I kept going down and had to be rescued often, also it felt like I couldn't kill anything, as Crushers and Bulwarks were staggered at best, but almost always were killed by Vet nades or Zealots.
At the end of the mission I thanked them for carrying the mission and got a reply "You're second in damage by stats."
I guess that's why I don't use stat screen mods.

you may have some misconceptions about trauma from this

generally trauma staff is hardest to use and manage staff out of the four

each staff has a "specialised" intended purpose

voidstrike is range/accuracy/damage/high stagger

purgatus is horde/dot/damage/low stagger

surge is damage/high stagger/lowest aoe

trauma has everything that's good

but doesn't excel at any compared to other staffs

its main downside is semi limited reach and awkward aiming, that's more reminiscent of shooting a catapult arc

and high base cost for secondary cast simmilar to surge

however

stagger is top notch as long as you half charge your booms at least

and the area of effect is misleading

ofc the damage and stagger force are proportionate to diameter distance from center of aoe
