Souldrinker definitely does NOT usually proc if soulblaze doesnt get the killing blow... however about 10-20% of the time it does proc due to the server reading a soulblaze tick at the same time as you get a killing blow from another source

Mainly its due to kill time. While smite empowered can do a lot of damage and its ability to stun in a bad situation is great, the issue is that its best use IS when things go horribly wrong. In terms of gameplay, it can be rather slow to really take off and there are other choices people can take that have a wider function or the same function but with a wider spread of damage and speed.

What kills the run the most is slow time to kill and lack of damage, things go too slow, you risk further complications in a fight
