#psyker-class

It's very safe to fight crushers with duelling sword.
Big dodge make you unhitable and uncanny does big damage on crushers.
my biggest issue being
ragers
the stun duration
i feel isnt enough on our special to
do a heavy
If you can't get the timing to heavy ragers then just use staff to make it goes into stun action then heavy it.
show me
maybe heavies on mkiv are too slow?
I played a lot of rapier in vt2 because of the kit behind witch hunter class (headshot bonus damage and instant kill).
Also it had range stagger with the pistol.
Mk5 is the swaggiest with overhead heavies.
We love inf ammo pistol alt fire
H-how
Dueling Swords are so bad 😭
Like, at least they're better than Cat. Combat Knife, I'll give em that.
But god I was blown away by how bad they were when i finally got around to use them
dueling swords are rather mid, just not enough benefits
cuz nastalgia
simple as...
@olive ember did you say wildefire is terrible btw?
Yeah, it has a lot of weird drawbacks
You can stack soulflame like 12 times or something
15? I dunno.
But it only transfers up to 4 stacks
transfer range is 5 meters
and you can't transfer less than 2 stacks
He doesn't even play anything other than surge.
I use wildfire with purg and blaze trauma. So op mane.
Yes
So does pygex
Very bad skill
wait you are surge user? i lost all repsect
Buggy as shit
you basically a shield ogryn for psykers then
If you like tickling 20 poxwalkers for 1-2 stacks of soulblaze
Then wildfire is for you
i see okay
I use every staff
i mean the 6 stack seems nice actually
Except voidstrike
oh yeah you did tell me its unyielding and maniac are ass XD
thats why i dont use it
so what do you run then with purge?
@olive ember
Eh personally I run flak + crit
Tho maniac and unyielding are fine
Basically your choice of specialization
whats the best on it?
Literally up to your choice
flak manaic?
Flaks the important one then it’s just what you think you wanna kill faster
maybe flak infensted?
Maniac is good for specials and ragers
unyielding is for boss damage shield ogryns/reapers
crit chance is just extra damage but not as much as the specialized perks (I believe around +10% damage effectively and only matters on tankier targets since trash dies so quickly anyways)
Infested is mid imo because you already melt trash quickly af so it would only be good if you are purging pox hounds
i see thx
@olive ember waaat
waait
i mean
blessings?
Flurry nexus
I honestly forget which one is more important on purge but that’s the meta combo
thx
Hey guys.. wondering what beat feats for a gun psyker using auto pistol?
I'm at level 25 btw
Pinning fire as a blessing and tbh your mostly set with shredder. Flak/maniac damage perks
Talents I mean
Ah
This is my pistol for now. Just running uprising and malice so I don't need to worry too much on stats
That gun is pretty good to run in damnation
I'm not there yet. Malice is still sweaty for me 😅
Well grab top talent in the first row
And then the peril = dmg perk
I reccomend kinetic flayer aswell
The standard build is similar to a purge build, so 3/1/1/1/1/2
I personally actually don't like how AB plays on my gun psyker build so I opt for the 3/1/2/1/3/3 build
this thing any good from melk as a psyker with nothing above 340 yet?
charge rate could be better
run n gun is crap
blazing spirit is pretty good combined with warp nexus though
also ive got 12k melk bucks atm
melk bucks lol
but yeah not the best charge rate so be careful on that
and you would need to at least swap out run n gun blessing wise
hmm alright
would probably swap out ranged crit damage on the perks, you mainly want crits on your purgatus to proc more soulblaze rather than the damage of the crit themselves
that and crit damage doesnt really do much for burn ticks
I have no idea what to do for deimos
Why do people go full cope when I tell them purgatus is bad?
Cause it isn't
Yes it is
Infact it is up there with rumbler in experiencing an Auric Renaissance
"Well in my super specific situation whenm literally everything is in my favor, its the best staff!"
Wildfire scales with enemy density, and you have a deimos to back you up and you still have BB
imagine needing a dedicated poxwalker killer
Easy shooter clearing at short range minus shotgunners
More liek
Everything killer
nope
Only staff that is bad are surge and void
I don't need to but ok
this is the smartest copeatus user
Oh boy the weapon with the only viable damage case is vs scab shooters
this is the darcy of psyker chat
Cc is a bait
lmao
Yes I can tell I'm just playing along so they can get their kicks
Surge staff is just Illisi + KB build
nah youre coping
Boo get a new line
Stop coping then
a purg user assaulted me in an alleyway
Me easily carry aurics with my purge deimos cause I know when to swap to BB and deimos and how to slide and position
hated that staff ever since
Meanwhile the only time I truly carried as surge staff was a ranged only scab only maelstrom
Yeah because its only good in narrow spaces
Cause it sucks ass
Sounds like a skill issue
Please let's not do this again
Like void is bad unimpressively because of it's hit cap
Surge is just a cc weapon of the likes of crusher, or more like paul
Cause it does have use cases
This is the smartest copatus user
But the best surge players use it as a utility and know when to not use it, focusing Illisi and KB instead
If you want a real staff Rending Flurry trauma is waiting for you
Its funny how copeatus users are blind to what surge staff can do because they blind themselves everytime they use it
Fucking larper
coping larper
I have bloom off
ok larper
Also I think I have more hours on surge and trauma but whatev
Keep bottom fragging
im not going to talk to you because you just want to larp as some whos stupid
And bottom damaging
Wait are you that dumbfuck from general who called me a larper too for saying kindred?

I mean you can't argue but not for that reason
More so anytime real numbers are involved purge is actually great, so is blazing trauma cause of enemy density
Surge just flounders on damage and kills for CC that could annoy your teammates
True
equalized damage so that all enemies take as much damage as flak/carapace
and then its amazing
It's up there with dclaw blending hordes
Honestly turning maulers and crushers into lightning rods would be cool asf
Honestly if I was in charge I'd tone down the CC slightly and lower the duration, then increase damage, chain range, and chain targets
And give it blazing spirit cause lightning makes fire
the moment a horde shows up it gets annoying
meh blazing spirit would be mid on surge
It's best when you don't need to use it
you stack fire on like 5 enemies at a time
and carapace enemies aren't even weak to soulblaze so you can't even say its good against crushers
KB, Illisi
kid named uncanny dueling sword:
It's not about being good
It's about being cool
Like how twinstubbers should have cavalcade
mfw your go to strategy is to crit twice with surge, then smack the crushers individually to stack rending
I mean if you want rule of cool Pygex over there is running a revolver psyker with AB
(and have equivalent dps to a dclaw vs them)
hell yeah
and according to him he's popping off
Rip the unreleased purge staff blessing that gave it rending
Would've been unstoppable
I love it when I'm winding up a T Hammer Heavy on a mutant and it gets stunned just out of reach
Great times
simply a skill issue
hold w
thats all zealots are good for anyways
Notice the out of range part
Thunderhammer heavies slow you the fuck down sadly
You're right, my keyboard has lived a good enough life
What is a KB psyker ?
And it also makes us gamble to press F when we don't know if you are gonna keep stunning or let it go
kinetic barrage
BB spam level 30 feat
look you must simply be attuned to the mind of a surge psyker
too bad most surge psykers are dumb as rocks and surge poxwalkers but
Oh
its what you must do
i mean if its stunned once just go and hit em
Basically "surge" builds when used at their best don't play surge, they use surge as a utility like vet nades or zealot nades
I fucking wish
i've had situations where i was waiting for a mutie to run through a doorway and the area he was coming from was in the los of a shooter patrol
well yes but the same can be said about trauma staffs
and the surge psyker stunned him before he got out of los
and its like
bro
what the fuck are u thinking
I had them dropped right before I reach so the mutant either grabs me or runs away to an ally
Trauma is good that's the difference
It does damage, and cc
well it doesn't CC as reliably as the surge staff imo
Also easily applies rending going standard flurry build
Or you can go blazing spirit
Doesn't need to when you can cast explosions
Death is the CC
yeah thats assuming you kill
explosions in a 0.2m circle
True
and im ngl i don't value trash kills that much except when my team is complete dogshit
Never said it was perfect
Blazing applies to all enemies you stagger with it, doesn't need to be damage
embrace the shotgunner 1-shot trauma build
because some people think trauma is the worst staff
idk if stuck in the past or just
bad
Surge is the worst staff cause used improperly
because by that logic trauma is complete dogshit because you can throw hordes behind your teammates if used improperly
I like the surge and trauma. Mostly because I like Quicken
Well yes
It's knife and Paul having a kid who was raised to be a ranged weapon
voidstrike needs like infinite cleave until it hits ogryn or wall or wte, surge needs increased target cap and just standardized damage
Building stupid shit and playing around their shit surge staff as their primary DPS took and wonder why teammates call them out
I mean no one is using their surge staff as primary DPS
no one i would consider decent*
I really do but I've seen some shit
I dont consider anyone decent if they instantly call me names like "ur larping" dude
idk this whole "purge staff is bad" thing is
weird idk where tf it came from
its been considered good since the start
Probably reddit or YouTube
like its one of the few weapons that we were right about back in fucking december
I don't care for the purge, but it is for sure strong.
Or pre feat rework
Also it got indirectly buffed with more missions with more density
Which wildfire and purge loves
Like rumbler, it had an arc
Amelia, are all of your characters named Amelia?
I've played with a Psyker twice with your name.
Veteran Mallava, Psyker Sarine, Ogryn Drog
Damn.
I had a Psyker nerd out today about Try-Again Bragg, and Gaunts Ghosts in general.
Because I was on my Oggy TryAgainBragg
And their name was Amelia
Also all my names are default names besides, Drog? Which might be but I typed it out myself
Also purge doesn't suffer from the issues flamer zealot has
You have BB
You have synergizing soulblaze feats
And unlimited ammo
flamer doesnt need those
It doesnt
except for a little ammo management
But it's icing
Also flamer zealot when your team won't deal with distant bombers or snipers
Is a massive pain you cant solve, only like, delay if you wanna throw a nade
Speaking of Zealot. Today I learned that their alternative feat to 20% melee damage, the "more ranged damage for being closer to enemies" is actually +20% damage
even though the feat tooltip says 25% damage
Also, the damage buff is between 0 and 15 meters
like Fire Frenzy/Death Spitter
EE hits some breakpoints but I love rising conviction too much
And there is something so, thrilling about
Seeing the blood leak from the neck stump of a heretic
Its a viable pick if you're running Thunder Hammer is really my point.
Because Thunder Hammer just doesn't need that extra 20% damage from rising conviction.
Ehh, kanty shotgun has made flamer irrelevant
You are probably right there,
Like, it might not even help me when I'm spamming heavies on hordes
Any other melee weapons that don't need that extra 20% damage?
Hmm. Combat Axes, currently. Might change with the new patch and how Brutal Momentum nerf goes down/if headtaker-decimator get nerfed.
But beyond that, you definitely want rising conviction.
I mean, the other part of the equation is what weapons can actually make use of EE on zealot?
Flamer, and that's it.
Nothing else has the ammo pool to actually utilize the extra 20% damage.
its why flamer needs buffs
flamer too weak
no one uses flamer anymore
also buff purge staff while you're at it

Memes aside, the real problem is that Kantrael has infinite cleave on its special round.
It invalidates both the flamer and lawbringer shotgun.
infinite cleave and infinite range
Yeah, my bad. Can't forget infinite range.
All around the special shot is just a tadge too strong.
Not really overpowered. But it stands to be nerfed and the ammo reserve of the Kant buffed.
technically speaking flamer can delete mixed hordes better but when you have an infinite range infinite cleave dragonsbreath that just strips the horde away from mixed hordes and can also hit shit like snipers without barely aiming
¯_(ツ)_/¯
don't tell the zealots I said this tho
they have some weird takes like how the flamer is still op strong and no one uses it just because its boring
Shotguns need to be more gun and less special shell delivery.
But are there special voice lines for the Kant ?
If fatshark really wants shotguns to be special shell delivery tools, they should only use their special shell.
So kantrael always fire dragonsbreath rounds
Lawbringer always shoots the manstopper rounds
Agrippina always shoots slugs
That'd be a super interesting way to go about it too.
I mean I just want a shotgun that feels like a classic shotgun in a horde shooter
Not this. . . really tedious bolt-action rifle system they came up with.
as in you point and click and the horde gets turned into mince
Wouldn't the agri just be .. bigger revolver then?
I miss when voidstrike made popcorn sounds when it hit things
It hits a revolver breakpoint I think xd
Agri has less cara damage than rev and more fall off
I'd love this so much
I'd go do scattershot flechette kanty 24/7
Not cause it's good
But because it's bad ass
You say it like its not already
I do think its an abject failure to try and balance weapons against each other.
All fatshark needs to do is find some acceptable baseline in damnation for each weapon family
and balance them against each other internally in that family.
Something they've failed at epicly so far.
didnt know there were bolt action shotguns
They should of brought in some people with sci Fi fps experience
ripper gun
Like, las gun is good visually and sound wise but in gameplay only a handful are good
I mean, that's just what Fatshark has made them.
They've actually made them single-shot bolt action rifles
Like some old french rifle from World War 1
Or before.
I mean lasguns wouldn't have recoil and like
The actual ammunition pool of shotguns should be ignored for the sake of their special rounds.
There have been much worse las guns so maybe I'm gaslighting myself
The only one that that doesn't stand true is the lawbringer.
Because its special round is incredibly ass.
Also the flamer is just fucking
Still really good?
Probably one of the best flamethrowers in gaming history
Oh I'm talking design and sound wise
The only one that's better is the one from Spacehulk: Deathwing
It was the second best weapon in SHDW
The first was the Plasma Cannon
Unless you had friendly fire turned on. It would oneshot a termie friend.
Couldn't stand space hulk
So you'd just swap to flamer instead lmfao
And refunded it
I mean, overall, that game is really fucking bad.
Felt terrible to play
But they nailed the flamer.
P2P connections only is the worst part.
Like, sure, it keeps the game alive, even to this day.
I could install it and find 4 open matches right now.
But 3 of them would be from Japan, and one of them would be a guy cheating.
tbh the DRG flamethrower is better imo
DT would be helped if they had more effects associated with burning enemies
Darktide's problem with flames is that it covers enemies.
It makes it impossible to see their attack animations.
Burning was a whole status with its own synergies and not just a DoT, probably contributes to the whole flamer fantasy
idk if anyone answered but slaughterer is easily one of the best blessings, that with warp charges makes your deimos pretty much a horde weapon too given how quickly it chews through everything
all you need is good damage, finesse, and first target
mobility is ok but not at all needed, warp resist can be low and not hurt you too much
With the way the weapons are rolled you could just embrace the uncanny strike and give it unstable power for maximum crusher killing
Also +maniac to get ohko on mutants
i feel like psyker is how this game was meant to be played
i hope my builds still work in the rework..
I'll immediately try a melee focused psyker if I can
yeah the temperature spread and radiance mechanics are great
You can already. Just take a force sword and start swinging.
I do love me a good melee focus with a laspistol and kinetic barrage
Wish they hadn't nerfed inferus into the ground during their war on the flamer though
Last night I set up 5 psyker builds (gun, and one for each stave) - gave them appropriate icons and aesthetically agreeable cosmetics linked to the build. It made me happy.
10/10 balancing
I will run a recon las veteran build one of these days
and that is the only veteran I will run
Recon revolver wen
@azure veldt ahh so you are a person of culture then
guess which one of mine is which
Purg. Surge. Void. Trauma. Gun.
purge
surge
void
trauma
gun
Gmta
As a newbie, my cosmetic variation has been mediated by the cosmetics shop.
You're welcome for my contribution to keep the game alive
give every weapon a distinctive feature and make them really good at that one thing
like shotguns you want shotguns to be alt fire powerhouse ? then make them alt fire powerhouse. im talking about 1000 damage alt fire.
recons have the fast fire thing ? give them gatling gun rate of fire and high headshot multiplier so if you can score headshots they can do really well
Right now I think the guns that struggle the most are guns with poor ammo efficiency, that's just the way the ammo system works
correct
How do you play the trauma ? I tried it and found myself sticking to melee for most of the mission. I can't seem to find the right situation to use it 🤔
don't think just use it
depends

I have a melee playstyle and like to leave my trauma as just a support weapon or anti-ranged weapon
trauma is great for the carapace and flak enemies when melee isnt enough to kill quickly
its stagger is both a blessing and a curse, so I prefer not to use it until it is absolutely needed
sooo kinda like the opposite of purgatus XD
So - been using trauma staff for a while, i have a good one ive been using and have warp flurry 4 and shattering impact 4. I know shattering impact is one of the 'meta' blessings but after a lot of play i have an issue with it, and maybe its bc i dont play with a full stack all the time who are coordinated.
Shattering impact only helps the team, but people who rock weapons that dont do good armor dmg to crushers/armored units tend to not shoot those enemies with those weapons anyway. How much is it -really- helping vs just getting warp nexus or something?
I think it helps in no ammo mode because you are more likely to get melee teammates
prob not that much value in pub matches unless you tell them about it and they're decent teammates
true, and you can hit them then pull out your melee and kill them easier yourself which i do
I don't talk to my teammates or trust them, so rending shockwave doesn't have much value in my case
but im not sure that works when you put the staff away
it's a debuff, so it works
though force swords have good armour mods so it's also whatever
its like shattering impact on bolter is amazing bc it significantly reduces its OWN ttk
and for a while i liked the idea of having the support aspect, but the more i use the trauma the more i notice people -not- taking use of it
even if i try to tell them its like who wants to do that ya lol
e.g., force sword heavies deal 65% to carapace
40% rending means that you'll deal 65% + 14% = 79% damage to carapace, which is eh
right, i can power an illy like twice and kill a crusher or close to it anyway lol
yeah they're not going to break their habits and whatnot
josho and I did consider slapping on rending shockwave on my staff so that he could do fire frenzy + inspiring barrage on his ripper next time we duo'd
but that's for a specific build in a premade
SI doesn’t just help the team. It, for instance, helps with any follow-up shots, say, spamming bolter shots into a group of Crushers
die
SI matters on Bolter because it has “eh” Carapace damage, but with SI any follow-up shots suddenly start dealing a lot of damage
Tbf - new skill trees cometh soon. Much theorycrafting now may be moot in 2 weeks time.
though two weeks isn't a trivially short time
I like to run focused channeling instead of rending shockwave, though focused is a blessing that requires you to change your playstyle to make use of it
so if you're not going to run focused, you might as well just run rending shockwave since the other blessings are pretty crap
ya that sounds fun
i was considering nexus, but forgot about focused that does sound good
crits are +15% damage so they're pretty bleh unless you're running blazing spirit as well
this is my trauma, i can be flexible since shockwave is my pasted-on blessing anyway
part of me likes infested, makes quick charge clear easier but
part of me wants to roll another for maniac/flak or even carapace
to see how much it increases kill times on those
good point on the only 15% forgot that
i think i'll try focused
trauma only has two damage rolls
inside circle/outside circle
at fullish charge infected should all just perish if inside circle
those outside circle take minimal damage (~20) and get staggered
just go to the training area and see what dies and what doesnt, for my staff all commons will die at 4wc
so I dont really need any perks for my staff
With a trauma staff that has…
- 58% or higher damage, you need at least 3 warp charges to one-shot Poxwalkers
- 71% or higher damage, you need at least 2 warp charges to one-shot Poxwalkers
remember when people said gunpsyker was bad
It’s not, but the current skill tree doesn’t support the playstyle very well
Well, that’s another can of worms to open
you guys ever see someone so bad at melee you dont understand how its possible lol
playing malice on my lvl 20 ogryn, bc im leveling with blue stuff also im trying to get the "10 matches without going down" achieve
this lvl 80+ psyker goes down like 6 times in melee to basic zombies lol
every time i pick him up hes down with like, 4 zombies around him
one time he was waiting in the elevator why we dealt with shotgunners at end of map. he runs into elevator ahead and i see him fighting like, a smallish amount of groaners and he goes down, no elites lol
then as i pick him up he goes "this ogryn doesn't know how to play and protect his backline"
LOL like what
3 of us are together killing shotgun spawners in the final hallway
and he runs ahead to the elevator and goes down for time #6 in a malice to just groaners
i wouldn't be talking shit if he hadn't said that, did he expect me to charge ahead and stick on his ass to "protect" him from basic zombies?
has he ever heard of an illisi? haha man
some people
stats for the game, i wouldn't of even really thought much of it besdies "maybe he was drunk" or something if he didn't shit talk lol
covered names bc im not trying to shame, but like, wtf lol
dude was the highest level in the lobby
im kinda amazed i feel like its a skill to be that bad at his level and then still manage to shit talk
31 is a bot right
No lol
That’s the guy who was shit talking and died like 6 times
Maybe he was drunk or something but it wasn’t a bot. He even said “I think we have some new players who don’t know how these missions work” at one point. I think it was directed at me too bc I was practicing against a horde with the Billy club out of coherency for a minute rather than scanning lmao but didn’t care bc it was an easy 3
I wish I was recording lol so I coulda clipped the chat logs. That’s why I posted I wasn’t just trashing a bad player I was kinda actually amazed he was lvl 80+ in malice, performed THAT badly/died that many times…and still managed to trash talk lmao
Maybe he was having a really off day
wait, rending does not bring the damage to 100% ?
whats the point of rending then ?
it does if you have 100% rending
brittleness, the debuff, only stacks up to 8 times, and you get 5% rending per stack (and thus 40% max rending)
I did not know the cap was 40% 😦
yeah, it really is quite a shame
that is super sad lol
simply build a tent in the discord to know about all of these fun™ facts
hey folks , what is the different between forceswords ? what is people prefer?
is like 3 type right?
yeah there are 3 marks
but the Obscurus is a strictly worse Deimos, so no one talks about the obscurus
Deimos' 1st light deals 2x damage, and the 2nd heavy deals 2.5x damage
Illisi has pretty much the same special as Veteran's power sword besides minor differences in damage and cleave
The Obscurus and Deimos special do huge damage on the next hit, the Illisi special gives massive cleave on the next hit
the obscurus/deimos special only deal remarkable damage to Flak because of the 200% bonus to flak
so does anyone have a godlike roll sword so i can see what perks/blessing for fswords?
these are what i use
the 2nd perk on deimos is whatever, what you're mainly looking for is 25% maniacs
some people prefer deflector or what have you over unstable power, i don't find it all that useful. first target doesn't work on the illisi special so dumping it a little is fine
so dumb stats are first target and warp resit?
about blessing i find out deflector help abit again gunners if my curios dont have reduce gunners perks
on deimos since you should almost never really use the special for anything other than generating peril i prefer a low warp res
but with illisi you're spamming it a lot and the total damage output you get from extra warp res is way more than the benefit from feats due to having a low one
yea but
this is 79% 71%
it could 1shot poxwalkers :(
if it was just a bit better
just a bit
you pretty much 100% of the time have some form of global damage buff
from psyker's baseline warp charges, warp unleashed, unstable power, slaughterer
the same still applies really. you're looking at at least 20% global damage increase when playing psyker normally unless you're running inner tranq or smth
idk if illisi can reach 300 infested damage without other stuff
i dont what to commit must for crafting since big update coming up , but these infos should help me understand base psyker weapons
i'd probably just leave it
if i was grinding for stuff i'd just get a loadout i can use and farm plasteel/ordos until the update drops
because who knows where weapons land in terms of balance
illisi special very nice for horde clear
doesnt really matter what stats you have after that
yea illisi make me feels safer when shit hit the fan
illisi is fairly overtuned. with the right build you can 1-shot muties and whatnot
i expect slaughterer and other +75-100% power blessings to be nerfed generally, cuz thats obviously way too strong
you can prob reach the 300 bp with sweeping lights with warp unleashed and slaughterer
illisi heavy spam, h1 cancel spam, or h1l2 all good
and then the special is great
even on the light attack the special is great
so thx about the swords , what about staffs ?
all good at different things
i got a pretty decent staffs but i feels like i do something wrong cuz i aint deal no damage
surge is the worst damage dealing staff vs anything that isn't flak
ahhhh
but by god it staggers the shit out of everything
the main draw is the crowd control
surge left click dps on top
It does good crit against unarmoured though
thats the tradeoff i guess
but I wish it did more damage to unarmoured because I really like lightning
surge's crit bonus stat applies to the m1 as well which is fairly funny but also not that helpful
only a good relative bonus to unarmoured
Yeah, the CC is the main reason most people use it
it's still only roughly a +100 flat damage which is in line with the other armour types
after using surge for a while, i really miss being able to stagger a whole area of shooters from behind cover when not using it
thematically im fairly annoyed they relegated lightning to crowd control and not smiting people
ideally on purg your dump stat would be damage (it deals a pitiful amount compared to the DoT from soulblaze) and you would have warp nexus instead of run n gun
but that's not a bad staff
that trauma is very nice, shame about run n gun but you can't get too much more out of blessings if you already have flurry, since it's either flurry + whatever or warp nexus + blazing spirit
what the , dumb stats on purg is damage ? xD
yeah, atleast the oct4th new smite looks to be more dmg focused
yep! your burn stat dictates way more of how much actual damage you deal
I think..... I think she might be learning!?
because thats what dictates how many stacks of soulblaze you apply, whereas damage is the very small amount given from the flames themselves
what does this stat mean on purg
always wondered
it also seems more close-range oriented, which i hope will be more useful for playing aggressively/melee psyker
@spice veldt
probably how fast soulblaze stacks are applied
i think i know but i'll probably word it wrong
but if it is, then the number there is also completely wrong
"probably"
i think it's the interval between soulblaze stacks but i have no actual idea what it does
i love fatshark
description-itis strikes again
man those staffs make me confuse as hell , let me just use my autopistol
Burn Damage = Burn Damage + (Burn Damage * Secondary Action Burning Intensity)?
but higher damage is lower burning intensity
but
what is voidstrike blessing and perks?
thats the dot damage speed
oh was the first image for the damage stat
tick of damage per X
yeah
it literally says application rate
damn i'm blind
probably direct damage tick rate (the range is very small) (aint nobody got time to time that)
i timed it but i also forgot where i wrote my results down
does 2 shots from surge blessing work with voidstrike charge attack?
1 tick of DoT every 23 frames at 30fps
is 0.34 Secondary Action Burning Intensity
hmm
same tick speed as burn from m1
ok i think its secondary direct damage tick rate
thats harder to check cuz the dot starts ticking too
but its like every 10 frames at 30fps
there's the debuff indicator mod to check when a stack of soulblaze has been applied
which is close to 0.34/s
last time I checked, i think the range of the rate at which soulblaze was applied was smaller than the description implied
either that or it's some weird esoteric calculation that is not immediately apparent by just looking at the description
yes theyre coming on the 4th
I'm debating if I wanna carry around a spare set of clothes or to just wear a suit for the entire day
fml
id carry a spare
suits suck man
also shit happens, ill walk around with a stained t-shirt but a stained suit naaaah
dont change
then u need some hangers and shit for your suit too
aint nobody got time for that
just wear it
the soulblaze applies before the damage does
guh
yea thats why its hard to test
u dont know what is lagging
and the difference between the tick rate seems to be miniscule anyway
ok this time the damage and soulblaze appear on the same frame
the next tick of damage happens 9 frames after, the next stack of soulblaze is 2 frames after that
hope this helps
(i have learned nothing)
that they at least operate on different intervals and that the intuitive interpretation of their description is probably correct
i suppose
i need to test a staff with very different damage and burn stats
make a new psyker and buy some low level stuff
true
purg unlocking at level 15 😔
im sure arco can just set his graphics up to pull 3000fps and then we'll get a solid answer
ok this ones much better
the university experience

there's a panel from the latest chapter of the manga i'm reading that would work really well as a reaction, but I need someone to disagree with me first
no ur wrong it wont be
ha ! it's time to settle our disagreement the old way
lmao, what manga is this
batuque
firm batuques
Dunno if it's because I accidentally quickplayed normal Damnation or if it's because the Illisi is OP, but I just had the most zen game in a long time
Yes
What makes no sense?
American college in a nutshell
ok now someone say the joke a third time
Hey I'm an American in college, you can't expect me to read anything
@fierce crest what is your question? What are you trying to find out?
🙏 thank you for your service
what the stats mean
mainly burning intensity
but also if application rate is actually true to what it says
but the ui is super inconsistent with when it displays numbers
so
we just cry
it can
oh wait
i have infested on this
does that add into the values in the tooltip?
i dont think so
^
was talking about a light
deimos heavy can def 1shot poxies
but thats good to know for illisi also
ah i read your comment asking about if illisi could get to 300+ infested
just wanted to show it could
i have 2 or 3 over 300 dmg infested on H1
which one should I keep?
kinda a tough choice, but the low quell speed on the 2nd is making me ehhh
i would rock 1st, change barrage for Warp Nexus, and swap crit hit dmg to either crit chance, flak, or maniac
unsure if others would agree but thats my thoughts
unyielding isnt awful, you can burn out bosses pretty well if your team doesn't have any other good bursty boss dps
its better than crit dmg at least
I was also leaning towards first because of the quell speed on 2nd, also it looks more well-rounded in terms of stat distribution
ya, and it has a better perk without any changes made yet
Also, thanks for the second opinion, I'm currenty lacking sleep so I need a second voice to help me decide, and to make sure I'm still sane
ideally i would rock flak/maniac or crit chance and one of the other. But unyielding honestly isn't the worst, im often like the 2nd best boss dmg class on runs as flamer next to like a good boss dmg build like the bolter
or a TH zealot
well, that ones tougher bc they literally delete it in 2 swings and you dont have a lot of time to burn it haha
at least vets have to reload bolter usually at least once, and can miss some etc
you can stack up a boss quickly if you're at 6 stacks, and using ascendant blaze + a full charge of the staff
or if you have time you can keep the stacks and just burn it, keeping them for the dmg
honestly coming back to Darktide and seeing that they added in chaos spawn reminds me of Peregrinaje mod runs on VT2
this coming october patch im excited about
everyones brave until a spawn starts stampeding and yeeting people off the map (but I'm sure they disable instakill yeets here in Darktide)
bit nervous its gonna mix up the game and all my builds so much we all gonna be starting over on our "meta" crafting but
i think it'll be overall good and exciting, something new to chase
lol
i was going for the achieve for 10 games in a row without downing.....i know i have like 600 hours and still dont have it, im bad whatever
i was on game 8
spawn threw me off into instant death
literally last night
just yeeted me off the map lol
I tried doing that penance last weekend
its harder than it sounds bc even hanginjg off an edge resets. join a late game thats failing? reset
I was joining my 10th run, when I loaded-in I was already downed and everyone was getting mobbed by hounds 🤦♂️
i was at 6/10 a few days ago trying it and my teammate shot a barrel
blew me off the map
i was so mad lol
was one of the few times ive ever alt-f4'd a match early i have to admit
rough
randos are the bane of penance hunting but then again, thats the fun of it
One workaround could be to play in a 4-player team when working on achievements like that.
do you happen to know if the private games also spawn-in bots?
was thinking of duo-ing a private game if it doesnt include bots in it
Autocorrect hates me extra hard today, it seems.
There's bots.
But you can kill them off and not rescue them.
fair enough
I'm just effing glad Darktide is actually playable now
I stopped a few weeks after release, it was disastrous
I only started playing again last week and I have to say, they should've released it in this state (or Oct 4 state)
Yeah, I played veteran at first. The crosshair didn't render on my scope.
and I kept getting stuck in the elevators lol
But as a casual player with a pretty powerful pc, I'm actually really enjoying where this game has been going, and while I'm a bit annoyed all of the non-premium cosmetics are a bit meh, I can't really get myself to hate that monetisation.
I think its a given, I also play Warhammer Total War, and they've been recently trying to milk the community for more bucks and lesser content.
It got review bombed recently and its currently standing in overwhelmingly negative lmao
Honestly though, I can give premium cosmetics a pass.
I would, but if only that deathkorps cosmetic was attainable through penances/dockets
Not happy about it, the game itself wasn't super cheap, but it's cosmetics. It's not gonna take affect your game if you don't.
It's basically the definition of nice-to-haves over need-to-haves.
isn't it $30?
that is pretty cheap imo
for the level of quality this game is in terms of production/graphics etc
(but not scope)
compared to VT2, yeah, they really worked on monetizing the cosmetics shop
not to dick ride, they could improve a lot in all these areas I agree
I guess part of it is that I haven't been playing AAA games for like 10 years.
but its not an expensive game
I remembering being so bad at launch, they had to stop making new costumes and focus on bugs because the community wasn't having any of it
i mean starfield was $70 and its just fallout with some boring grey space scenery
Its certainly gotten better since release by a significant margin
I'm used to getting last years game on a stream summer sale for 5 eur or less.
BG3 was $60 and is one of the most incredible gaming experiences ive had in a decade, same with elden ring
Just taken an irritating amount of time to do so
I really should buy bg3.
I initially pirated BG3 and finished it twice, I'm buying it tonight because I looooove the game.
FS been on a roll since 2009
disclaimer: bg3 is NOT bug free and has some silly and sometimes actually annoying buggy moments, but its such a deep complex game and it works so well as a whole it didn't bother me nearly as much as it typically would
releasing every 2-3 years too.. with dlc in between
AC6 i bought, played the first boss, loved it but just haven't had time to go back
but ya, im a fromsoft dick rider FOR SURE
you check out lies of P? Pretty good for a non FS soulslike
played basically all their games
and beat elden ring 2-3 times and put 500 hours into it
If you can find the time, its well worth the three playthroughs to do all the content
2.5 times, 3rd playthrough i never finished and dicked around, pvp'd invaded a lot etc
Nah, i havent, i hear good things about gameplay, but i dont like the art style
not yet, but looks good been watching a friend play
I only watch souls-like games, I don't have the skills nor patience to play them myself
I dabbled in Sekiro tho, but I didn't make it to chapter 3 😅
Most souls-like games arent so much a skill test as a memory test
I do need to go back to AC6 too. I got to chapter 5 I think? And haven’t finished it. I blame the Darktide hyperfixation
Yeah I SHOULD try it, now that I have decent hardware
but every souls game has insane OP combos and easy ways to kill bosses once you 'figure it out'
Like you'll inevitably get beaten into the floor by a lot of the content, but its about memorising where your openings are and how to exploit them
you can usually summon some sort of help too
I’ve played through every soulsborne title at least 3 times tho… and bloodborne and sekiro like 7-8 lol
I was embarassed when playing multiplayer games with friends, I would always load the slowest
or, if you’re into it, just cheesing every encounter lol
I do have thousands of hours on multiple Monster Hunter games tho
Mage gameplay be like
shh you’re not allowed to say that
Lool
ya, its designed to kill you a few times until it clicks. You're not bad for taking 10+ tries to kill a boss, its normal. its supposed to be like a combat puzzle you figure out and then its super satisfying once you win
Pretty much aye
I'll probably try out AC and Elden Ring soon™, primarily interested in those
Might play that when I finish my 4th playthrough of baldurs gate. God Iove mods
as well as Bloodborne, IF THEY RELEASE IT ON PC
but i feel lots of people who think "im too bad at this game" are used to more modern games holding their hand A LOT
and when they die 10 tiumes on a boss they think they are playing wronug
and they get in their own head
yeah once you get used to playing them I don’t think it’s really about being “hard” and moreso that they can be very obtuse and like said, they treat you like an adult
or dont have the patience maybe to push through until it clicks
That was honestly what i liked most about AC6, its much more based on reaction time an decision making vs Souls/ER, which on one hand makes it actually difficult, but on the other hand, much more rewarding
that’ll be the day
they’ve done some rebalance to AC6 right?
Not really yet, we're awaiting a big PvP patch
I think I started losing steam when I changed my main loadout to be super lightweight with dual shotguns before I knew those were apparently broken af
its not that these players ARE actually "not good enough" its a mindset, they die 5 times aren't used to a game stopping them like that and go "fuck i must suck, this isn't for me" which is totally ok if its not your thing and its not enjoyable.
but I truly feel like a lot of people that turn away from this, its more a mindset than anything, its like them getting in their own head that "im bad" and it feels bad and they don't push through the learning curve
They nerfed bosses because game journos were screaming about how hard some of them were tho
and then it was like oh balteus isn’t hard, I just needed to be fast
Mine is more from a gameplay perspective, I'm used to Monster Hunter combat that I can't bother learning souls-like mechanics. Or I'm probably just lazy
but I will soon enough
A lot of it is about build, if you're equipped for the situation then most things wont give you much trouble, Balteus an the Helicopter filtered so many people though, which was pretty hilarious (those that were inflexible and refused to adapt tho)
yeah you gotta be down with the experience. I still get my shit kicked in on most playthroughs lul, every time I’ve gone through elden ring on a NG it’s like “oh yeah Margit still can make me look like a moron”
sekiro is #1 for me on pure gameplay still, but love em all
I remember being in college and we had a christmas party at a friend's house. I was oblivious to souls-like games and we had a game where everyone would take a shot everytime I died on dark souls 2
took me 155 attempts my first run to beat the final boss 😐
everyone got drunk within the hour 😆
They dont call him "Margit-gud" for nothin 😄
sorry to rant,
but ya, exactly. You have to be ok with losing sometimes. Similar to darktide and the harder difficulties, it gets boring if its always a guaranteed W. I had friends who played for a bit, never wanted to push the harder missions and quit. Some came back recently and I forced people to play damnation and high shock/auric. Oh look they're having fun now even tho we lose way more than spamming heresy (which is what my bad friends wanted to do lol)
just my thoughts on these games. I had more than 1 friend who thought they were "too bad" for souls-like games and "i just play casually man"
who ended up getting elden ring and loving it once they got past the initial curve. Similar experience with me pushing some of my more "casual" friends into Damnation+ in this
yeah outside of sekiro I musta had more deaths in ds2 than anything
Sorry to interrupt siblings, quick question: Leveling my first psyker, I like the trauma staff and the deimos mk IV blaze sword, could someone tell me what the dump stats for those two weapons are and if those weapons are decent for damnation eventually?
Level 21 now and wanting to get free of Malice because the lack of teamwork is painful
it’s funny bc I only like the hard, gotta improve to succeed approach to action games lol. if I’m playing total war or something, meh, lemme just mindlessly steamroll the world and enjoy the power fantasy
deimos dump is warp resistance or mobility, probably
This. Humans are geared to overcome significant challenges in life. Gotta push harder like
@fossil tinsel ignore it patch in 2 weeks keep stuff in reserve in case stuff changes dramatically
yeah I’d def dump warp resistance on Deimos
yep warp resist
good advice but he's leveling, nothing wrong with making an ok weapon now to get him out of malice i dont think
I WAS ON THE CUSP OF GREATNESS
still 2 weeks away
you'll want that high peril to deal more damage
trauma like, a combo of quell speed and warp resist I guess? I don’t really want super low warp res on trauma tho
quell speed fairely important
tbh trauma is tough
it doesn't really have a dump stat
yeah
Quell speed is often insignificant unless you're trying to min-max to a stupid degree, the bonus' provided by it are much less significant than other stats
this is mine
Yeah quell speed is the least important on trauma at least
i deal with the infested bc the stats are so good otherwise lol
Warp res iirc has a more impact esp since it does build a lot of peril unlike purg
yep
Hrm depend on your trauma build. For blaze trauma charge speed is more important.
thats true, some peopel build the blaze trauma build i forgot
Higher, I think around 74%+ you can quell for 2 tick and do a full charge blast again.
As much as i love it now, i wonder if Void' is gonna see any buffs in patch coming
i hope so
i also hope we get a new staff or 2
but im thinking probably no new weapons
and that'll be a following update
Ye, more staves would be stellar
I’d be surprised if new weapons but who knows
honestly I think it’s be better to not do new weapons now
the only thing that makes me think new weapons could be coming, is bc the new trees technically mean new subclasses
they’re already doing a LOT at once
I imagine this is gonna be the skills patch for the most part an we'll see more weapons and a proper rebalance down the line
Coz christ knows we need a proper rebalance
so there would have to be some new synergies and talents and stuff, feels like new weapons would fit with that
we gonna need some cleanup patches after this im sure lol
ya
No fuckin doubt
Given the time they've been working on it tho, its reasonable to expect it might not be super buggy, just some stuff might need some tuning
its possible its just balance changes/blessing reworks + skill trees.
then a few weeks of balancing/cleanup for things that are probably not working, or OP or whatever.
then maybe like....christmas, new years? we get another content patch with some weapons and a map?
just speculating
maybe later
I'm expecting some talents to be too powerful and get nerfed repeatedly, same goes for underperforming talents to balance everything out eventually
Yeah that doesnt seem unlikely tbh
they'll probably take a vacation lol
They'll take one over xmas for sure
wish i worked in sweden lol
Innit
yay USA and no minimum off time law!
From what ive heard there are certainly some powerful elements, the shards are menna be really good
Ty for the input everyone
lol I’m US but work for a European company and yeah summers and definitely December is not much work going on
god im so excited ngl. I've already done most of what this game has to offer and its still fun. can't wait until we have the equivilent of 8 new subclasses, abilities and builds to try lol
im hyped
Yeah, actual builds in DT being meaningful will be dank af
im not like one of the lvl 1,000 or 1,000 hour+ chads who also hang out here, but 600+ hours since launch most of my friends think im crazy they dropped it after the first month lol
Really hoping for Wrack an Ruin to work with shards ngl
I think i got 1200 hours at this point? Not bored of the game by any stretch of the imagination, but do need a break every now an then
Mainly for AC6
I got DT on July 10 and have uh… 382hrs
oh im at 720 now, not 600
but at least 100 hours has to be menu idle and mourning star time
i would think
i hang out in the menus a lot lol
I initially clocked in about 20 hours when it released then I quit, now I have close to 300 hours and I only started last week lol
yeah I have basically no afk time
It wasnt ideal that shopcamping was the optimal way of getting gear during the release window, lets be honest
ya i hated shop camping
checking melks is still a thing but much more reasonable now
you dilating time bro?
ain’t even 200hrs in a week
yeah cool check how many tide players ahve over 6-8k from the previous titles
Well, started Sept 8th, mb
but mostly afking in menus when im not playing so thats on me
and still ask for more with a please
Oh yeah ofc, but you know, some of us have to work an keep the bills paid
mfw wfh
Im hoping for more enemy varieties, but not on Oct 4th
unlucky mf
Such is life fam
hey i have bills too i just dont pay them
meanwhile I just sat here for 20min waiting for a client to join this meeting. this is the literal 3rd one we’ve scheduled and they’ve not showed up every time
guess it’s time to game
i was trying to kill the helicopter with the plasma sword, switched to the bunker driver and it made the fight a walk in the park
it does like 3x the damage of the plasma sword lol
somewhere down the line I hope, want some nurglings and toads since we have sewer maps in darktide
Oh yeah pilebunker is fuckin goated
Good in PvP too if you can setup a good strike for it
fun fact the pile bunker is also a weapon in bloodborne
the stake driver
it’s like, basically the same model too lol
Yeah you can make it work for sure, but its hella inconsistent
toads would be cool i hadn't thought of that
nurglings have been a big suggestion, would be cool if they moved in a group but were individual nurglings still, so needed aoe or precise aim I see them moving eradicly and jumping everywhere hard to hit
they swarmed someone and captured them, maybe like the vt2 netter that actually takes someone away instead of net them on the ground
i think they would be good as elites, and they can tounge you maybe and pull yo to them out of position (but not capture you) if you dont dodge
totally down with a plague toad boss
I was thinking of chaos marine too, but thats already too much for a single strike team to handle even with the arsenal lol
hence we got a scab (or was it dreg) captain to deal with instead
they could easily justify a plague marine/chaos marine tbh
we already take on thousands of zombies....beasts of nurgle...daemonhosts and often mulitple of these
psykers are one of the few things Space Marines have to fear though
a chaos marine in the lore, isn't really that much more powerful than what we already accomplish, our strike teams are already stretching the lore a tad lol
right and we have psykers and ogryns
Imagine if trappers could instant kill by dragging you off a ledge
ogryns are as strong as SM
Aw hell no lol
two-shotting monstrosities, yeah thats def. a stretch from being canon
but hey its fun! and thats what matters
Thankfully the AI could never really pull it off
... Pun intended
always fun to have a mutant yeeting you off the cliffside of the shantee maps from the 3rd floor lol
then you land on a patrol and you get downed; your strike team kicks you for wandering off too far
feelsbadman
Classic
A little bit, but nah, a chaos marine would take out the whole squad with not much effort
Shh! Dont give them ideas 😄
Dont know that ive seen someone get kicked for that ever tbh, but then in Damnation teams work differently so that might be it
Usually its just a silent agreement that you let them die an get on with it
it was honestly not my fault, which four souls are even sane enough to run extra bursters/mutants/hounds/specialists maelstrom on auric damnation lol
You signed away "sanity" by clicking on the auric board
I love those missions tho, extra volumes of the nastiest enemies make for a proper challenge
b-but my resources
They said no CSM because of SM's usually taking over stories and making them revolve around them
tho I wouldn't mind a single deathguard
agreed, the amount of failing auric V runs I've been having are slowly diminishing as I learn how to handle situations
You get more resources for doing the Maelstrom missions, you just gotta be lucky an not roll a team that consists of one brainlet and two Zealots who dont know how to play
Yeah that'll happen, a lot of the harder content is just adjusting to the increased enemy volume an polishing up those threat priority skills
and learning how to play roles correctly
I've been mostly running surge staff as a support psyker, and it works well for most of my runs
just constantly stunning everything so everyone else can finish mobs off quickly
Tried running a couple of private games yesterday to get monstrosity award. Bots managed to steal the kill both times. Grrrr
oof thats rough
I know how that feels, I keep trying for the 20 headshot kills penance and I can't do it cause of the bots
I am really not looking forward to the Zealots challenge 😦
im confident that 4 psykers could handle just about anything. 2 surge 2 flame, at least one specced for brain bursts
