#psyker-class

I also have the skulls and noise from pinged enemies turned off, so I value pings a lot less
since I got annoyed my teammates who had ping on their m1
I've run into it a few times on NA west
i can see the argument of not tagging if you know yuo are going to kill it fun to see someone hate it though
That explains the incoherent rambling.
7/10
Like, I'm out of coherency a pretty good chunk of each match
and I ping literally every single special and elite I can
Regardless of if they're near my team or not
Its just information
for free
for literally everyone. Why the actual FUCK you'd take that away from your teammates is an absolutely insane debacle
Eh, I told the "a bear goes into a bar" joke on another server earlier. There were many groans.
I don't because I can have the weirdest teammates who decide to just break coherency from the 3-1 group split (me being the one that's alone)
I do not trust my teammates at all to use the information properly
maybe if I can see that they're all high levels
but I don't bother looking at levels anyways and just assume that they're all shit
But all you need is 5 minutes.
they dont deserve my info
people can have bad days or suck at dealing with certain situations, so I don't judge them based on the gameplay that I see most of the time
unless they're straight up dying to minor things consistently
all the tasty piss covered enemies are for me alone
I absolutely don't get why downed players don't ping things.
At that point, it's all you can do (other than being a punching bag that keeps a horde busy for a bit).
actually true because they do tend to go for me because I'm the plasteel goblin that's running around alone
@sinful bridge And I ran into each other and butted heads for the first, I dunno, 5 or 6 minutes of the match and then we just clicked
That's really all the time you need in a match to understand your teammates.
But not pinging targets because they may or may not chase is so fucking insane that it kills me
literally, in most cases.
Because now there's an invisible dog in a horde
because some fuckwit refused to ping it
i mean if i see that they're going for a teammate, then I'm pinging them
but if I'm forward and the dog is almost certainly coming for me because they're coming from the front
i'm not fucking pinging them
just so that some dipshit takes the aggro and then gets pounced
what does that matter
or if i'm behind and they're coming from the back
because the dog gets to live
or literally anything
That trapper that just got you?
FRAGGING. PING. IT.
That's a big threat that significantly affects your chances of rescue.
i also don't trust the rest of my teammates to gank the dog immediately
maybe they'll knock the dog off and but keep it alive
So you're just an incredibly selfish player
yup
who refuses to play the game in a team oriented fashion
I don't trust my teammates at all
I mean i think some of my complaints are valid
not your teammates
but I do like to complain about them
"Everywhere I go it smells like shit"
You should probably check the bottom of your shoes bud.
idk, puri taking this kinda personal man
I only particularly complain about certain teammates who do certain things
thats cause puri doesnt actually ever tag, he just wants you to really think he's the kind of guy who does
Yeah, because I'm sick and fucking tired of people not pinging disablers
e.g., I don't complain about vets or purg psykers because the playstyles that those classes and weapons don't incentivize being annoying
I'm actually probably a little neurotic with it
I'll tag a dog as I'm shoving it out of the way
i know i am lol
whereas it is extremely easy to be annoying with trauma/surge
And then murderize it into paste
it's only in lights out where i start to REALLY fucking hate how little people tag
In which case, the tag was mostly pointless
we're in lights out specialist monstrous maelstrom and you DON'T want to tag? interesting choice
and psyker is easily the class that is most annoying to me
But I'd rather take the 0.05 microseconds to tag an enemy every single time than have the one time I ignore it bite someone in the ass, literally.
the game has given me my 6th +3 stamina curio. Guess I might as well run one
it's not even about my teamamtes anyway
i tag because i can now see the guy
if you tag, i can also now see that guy
it's the balance between my teammates getting screwed or them screwing me over by taking the aggro
and the decision I made is to not tag them if the dog is coming from the same direction that I'm at
how many times have you tagged a hound in a horde and watched it beeline straight to an ally who basically does nothing
It's a good combination with Kinetic Deflection, seeing as KD is multiplied up by your stamina.
Good fun for rezzing in the middle of a horde.
Considering that Arco literally doesn't tag enemies
0
he's seen that 0 times

I do tag enemies?
just not dogs in particular because of how their aggro is easily stolen
they're so noisy too
I don't use KD, but 80% defence on a mk5 dueling sword is really damn solid
I straight up don't care if my teammates react to tags or not, I just want them tagging so I can fucking see the god damn enemies through the 1200 poxwalkers, 92 scab stalkers, 500 dreg stalkers, and 4000 groaners
defined soundcue on when to dodge
or push, or swing
not that you can rely on anything with those ffffuckerrssss
Specifically trappers and dogs. Mutants if they're really feeling kind
I do tag trappers and mutants because the former is quite good at running away and the latter is tanky
but not dogs, who I can just knock off of a teammate if they're within 30m of me
love hearing them giggle as they waddle off
like the teammates i get genuinely can not be trusted
the exception being if you're running nurgle blessed maelstrom
and I'm not going to spend a good portion of the match paying attention to them
true
those green fuckers always get pinged
god I hope there is a Veteran Sergeant class with Saltzpyre style pinging abijlities
had the misfortune of a blessed hound spawning literally right on top of me while I was kiting a plagueryn away from the team
100-0 in 4 seconds
not even downed, just instadead
man
(I wasn't going to get rezzed anyway but like, fuck)
yesterday i was repositioning to push a burster, a grenade lands basically on my face, i have to sprint and slide out, land the push on the burster, fire staggers me, i eat the edge of the burster which throws me back into a hound, and then three ragers drop down from a catwalk above a second later and maul me to death
took like two seconds
sometimes the game just fucking hates your shit lmao
Might just be confirmation bias, but I swear that shit only happens when I play Psyker
my teammates even got the dog off me but im dead before my dumbass character can even stand back up
at least on psyker, I have to be a lot more wildly out of positioning to deal damage
I watched a veteran push a burster behind another burster who caused the second burster to ping-pong back to the veteran and kill him
I have a slot to change on a +3 stam curio, should I go for corruption resist or toughness regen? (currently have +60% regen from my other two, and +12% on one of them)
I also watched a psyker get dive-bombed by 9 bursters in a row because he thought he could push all of them back-to-back
i honestly do not value toughness regen curio so i am not the guy to ask due to my immense bias
instead of just letting me, ogryn, and a veteran mag dump the bursters from safety
Toughness Regen only good on Ogryn
I mean, you can push 9 bursters back to back, depending on how back to back they are
corruption is meh but not awful, i only find it nice on zealot since repeated Holy Revenant procs means only corruption really sticks
because he can get 290% toughness regen
And it is so good on Ogryn
smh
(block efficiency actually gets good at 60%+ tho)
Some sixth sense big jukes play
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A81WLqkD1g
the current setup
this aint vermintide tho
you can never get it to 60% i dont believe
oh wait, with deflector perhaps
arco do mafs for me
68% with deflector?
though the BCR from deflector only applies to ranged attacks (thanks fatshark)
WHAT
and block efficiency stacks multiplicatively
i have been fkn bamboozled there
(owned)
w/e ill still use it
ok 68% is completely wrong if its multiplcative
block eff stacks up to +15% on curios rights
yea
20% on weapon
another 12% from deflector
it's still good imo it's just definitely not 60% or VT2 levels of good
where youre just tossing off Chaos Warrior overheads
Good times.
different game forsho
so 56.8% block eff with 3x +15%, 20%, and 12% (against ranged)
I've managed to block a crusher oiverhead with peril blocking and only lose all my toughness
That's at least four pox walker attacks, up from three!
50.9% block eff against melee
crusher overheads always ignore your block, even if it doesn't seem like it
haha thats why it went straight to 97% peril i guess
and they made an update so that they also go through your toughness even if you have 100% toughness now, with the damage that was not absorbed by your toughness spilling over into your hp
yea they always hurt
so if you don't have enough base stats and/or don't have enough toughness DR
250 iirc
they can one-shot you from full toughness and full hp
yeah around that numbre
I know that they can one-shot a 100 tough 150 hp psyker
which is extremely humourous to me
at least we have infinite dodges so whatever
I also believe that if the crusher overhead breaks your toughness, it doesn't factor in the toughness DR when calculating the amount of damage that spills over into your hp
might've fixed that though
it's breakthrough so i assume not
tbh only the Crusher backhand ever really hits me nowadays
always surprises me for some reason
yeah the swings that come out pretty fast
legit leaves me stunned
esp with ping
I get chunked by overheads occassionally on ogryn
or even veteran
Fuckin 9 crushers in a deathball
Though that's a problem that got ported over from Vermintide 2
With the deathball chaos warriors all overheading at once
with their skates on
Yea lmao
The tracking on Crusher/CW overheads reminds me of Dark Souls 1
Where the bosses will track you through 90% of their attack animation
the chaos ice hockey team must be incredible
They defeated America in the 82 olympics. Disqualified for all the murder tho
lul
mkv duelling sword moment
Yeah, bosses could stand to have a pretty staggering buff to block damage
We're fucking regular humans
why can I block a chaos spawn
what 15% dodge distance does to a mfer
It makes sense for Ogryn
but why can veteran sit there and tank with a funny weapon held in the air
or zealot

or psyker
tbf veterans would just get annihilated if they couldnt even block chaos spawns
zealots at least have until death and psykers have their infinite dodges
That'll teach the veteran not to try and face tank the spawn then
With enough distance, teammates can redraw aggro from the veteran mag dumping a funny bolter into it
chaos spawn aggro is such a fickle thing
ill parry a chaos spawn with my dclaw whenever i want
i can be doing literally nothing to it and get targeted by it
I wish people wouldn't kite the spawn backwards
Chaos Spawn pushes you backwards
whether you want it to or not

Its not like Plogryn
where you can just side dodge forever
though they can always dodge diagonally/sideways
since the attacks besides the first hit of their 3/4-hit combos can be reliably spot-dodged
but I understand why people dodge straight away from the chaos spawn cuz it's the natural thing to do
and the dodge mechanics in this game are one of the more unintuitive things with respect to melee attacks
people just need to remember its as scared of you as you are of it
It just has a different fear response
im not afraid of it. just overly aroused.
blast radius on the trauma staff, esp if you're on the lower difficulties where you'll hit the breakpoints anyways
if it's on the voidstrike, then blast radius is not too important though it does matter
damage past 60% does not matter for trauma
but you want ideally 80 blast radius
and yeah what arco said about void
I don't think the Voidstrike was the problem so much as me not trying super hard, practicing quellcanceling randomly, being left behind looking for materials, and using a Combat Knife as my favorite melee on Psyker
Voidstrike felt awesome
And mine is only decent
voidstrike is one of those weapons where the stat scaling is whatever
I have 20% Flak and only level 2 Warp Nexus
so there's not much of a difference between a good enough voidstrike and one with perfect stats
blazing spirit voidstrike?
surge
That
It worked phenomenally when I actually paid attention
Defo using it more
No more being quickplay Surge Psyker for now
i forget if the doubled shot is a crit as well, but with +5% base crit and +12% from nexus, that's 130% * 17% = 22.1% damage on average over time with surge
It's the only Voidstrike I have
yeah, i'm not criticizing your build decisions
Idk if surge is better than spirit
just that it doesn't scale that much compared to weapons that get +75% damage and cleave from a single blessing
all the force staffs have this problem blessing-wise
I just like shooting balls
and neither do the stats on the voidstrike scale that much compared to the trauma
so you're not losing on out that much even if your voidstrike isn't perfect
Is there any breakpoint I can reach that I should try for? Something that 20% Flak might not help with
313133 is the build I ran with
you're prob going to one-shot scab bruisers with the help of warp unleashed anyways
there's a one-shot breakpoint on scab shotgunners with the help of +flak iirc
I just brainburst them
yeah that's the usual thing to do
Unless I need to stun them
Then I just quellcancel
I'll have you know I've only woken ONE Daemonhost that way so far
its true
i forget the scaling but arco has it
its like a very small increase
from 60 to 70 or 80
yeah 1 damage per 1%
getting more damage past 60% does mean that you need less damage buffs to one-shot dreg bruisers so that you don't need to take +unarmoured
but I value quell speed more than damage/another damage perk
yeah i just take flak and unarmored
find it makes it more consistent for mixed hordes anyway and you can always take out shooter patrols
maniac might be nice although i can just melee or BB that a lot of the time
But- but 1 extra damage is 1 less damage the bots have to do with their Catachans and Axes vs Crushers*!
i hate the bots so much
watching somebody leave to give us a bot so i can watch them attempt to pick someone up 100 times in a row while standing in 14 bomber flames 47 flamer flames 100 poxwalkers and is oblivous to the trapper right in front of them
makes me sad
What are the opinions on the lvl 30 feats?
generally take what you like although AB is good for stuff like auto pistol build or blazing trauma/purg
when using something like flurry trauma or void etc up to you but i prefer kinectic barrage
i like my kinetic barrage since it's a strict upgrade, and I'm often using my ult for defensive purposes so I don't want to have to go and get my warp charges back up again
yea it sucks to press F and go from 49% bonus damage to 15%
go fas go kwik
Didn't think it continued, but last match we killed at least 14, cerebral lacerations plus a veteran with "The strongest plasma I had" works wonders on waves of monstorus specialists
it is better than blazing spirit
it is two balls
when u balls
it rules
all true Gamers know more balls is good balls
What to do with this staff, cause the top blessing was I think weakspot and the top blessing was sustained fire
Just cludged the only blessing I had onto it, but what should I be looking for blessing wise. Don't need perfect stuff here
go warp flurry flak
and ur gooch
peril / flurry is the standard normie loadout, 5% crit 25% maniacs is ok
or 5% crit 25% flak
perks on voidstrike are w/e just live ur troof
flak is like the compromise "i guess im killin a lotta trash but sometimes im gonna shoot a mauler and pretend im doin something" perk
i respect it
It's really not:
- You can cancel the surge proc with quell cancel
- unless it's a horde on a long corridor, you are going to hit the wall already with the first ball which means the surge proc will achieve very little
- blazing spirit does more damage per proc than surge, even on a single target
i mean if u unironically think blazing spirit is better more speed to u live ur truth
both are hot dogshit
blazing spirit on staff being capped at 6 is just the beginning of it
but no blazing spirit is not "better" than surge even in that rubric because its delayed and also borderline nothing, surge is at least comedy
and sometimes gibs things

At least blazing spirit procs when you quell cancel
very true
u can fuck up ur own surges if ur based enough
but this is of course academic
i will show u the true path
but u have to type
"im prepared to witness the Future of Voidstrike"
gimme a sec i have to fine which one of these 60 fucking voidstrikes this one is
hol up
Nothing will impress me with Surge until they buff it
Or give it to Surge (the staff)
Lmao
its the 10% of the time i do something every time
the reverse dirty harry
"am i feeling lucky, punk?"
That charge rate is ass
i do not think
charge rate is the main issue that staff has
its main issue is being too advanced
(from the future)
It's not as vital on void but I would trade that warp resist to charge rate any time
The sad part is the surge proc itself will not be a guaranteed crit
So you can't get double fire balls

Flak n maniac seem the most common
whats the best staff
Voidstrike
Don’t believe anyone else
No just go through all the staffs and use the one you enjoy the most
is that the balls one
?
its gots balls
No?
shoot balls
balls
i like fire
trauma is the best generalist
Why is voidstrike know as ball staff
Because it shoots balls
I just aim good
Its the bowling ball staff
Isn't shooting balls what you do in Sniper Elite?
surge is not comedy
nobody even knows when it procs
u just have to pretend yea uh i think i got a surge yea thats uh 10% yea
it didnt really do anything and i cant even tell when it procs but uh i just imagine in my head it works
Same.
Is psyker still a huge chore to level up?
Everything's tedious to level up.
Under level 30 psykers atleast give me headache.
Particularly if you need to grind class specific gear.
That's just because it's the current psyker
Brain burst bad re
And that's in part because the psyker in dark tide is mostly using telekinetic discipline. In theory any ways
Like they said in the one article psyker and ogryn are in this weird little spot where they are as fleshed out as they wanted
Ogryn is different enough and focused enough on identity that you don't really feel it unless you don't vibe with the play style
Psyker is trying to cover all kinds of ideas but it all only kinda gets one or two mostly baked ideas tossed in that don't match the telekinetic discipline
BB is smite which is a biomancy
You have a few talents and a staff for pryomancy
Ect
The October updates seems like it will be fixing it but until then were stuck being spread a but thin
When October come soulblaze enhancement feats give me
I found the pyromaniac
Pryomancy can do some very cool shirt beyond lighting people on fire
Like. Looking at someone a d causing the blood in their veins to turn into steam, which basically causes an explosion within the person
Or producing a small light equal to that of a star
Because warp fuckery
I love psykers, just not playing them in dark tide they a naturally just limited
I want ultra trauma where you explode the entire map and cause a mission failed screen just to show your distaste for your team
pray for me and my sanity
Anyone knows if the blessing Surge is in the game ?
can't tell if rng joke or not
||it's only on Trauma and Voidstrike||
i want to change the perks on this purgatus
which one should i get ?
on darktide bulds they have groaners/poxwalkers + maniacs
im going to test it in the psykanium lets see what works best
paired with decimator caxe for maximum burn power
Got lucky enough to roll a practically perfect Surge. Should I switch the +Crit perk with +Elites?
criti works best imo
like this you have 35 crit (10% base +20% at high peril +5% from perk)
I’d switch specialists with unarmoured or maniacs and then switch terrifying barrage with Nexus. Nexus is great on Purg because crits add burn stacks.
I switched both perks
now i have maniacs and poxwalkers+groaners
maybe i will do infested + unarmored for gigacleave, not sure if worth
Fair enough! Though afaik Purg and TB do not work together, though that may have changed.
yeah im changing it to unarmored infested
damage to maniacs is too low anyways to clear mutant train
Flak maniac or unarmoured maniac most of the time
Flak to capitalize on its strengths against flak armoured enemies like scab shooters, maulers, armoured maniac
Unarmoured to shore up its weaknesses and more specifically make it better against dreg shooters
Maniac just cuz every other special is a maniac (mutant, flamer, trapper, unarmoured ragers, etc.)
Infested is kinda mid ngl cuz it’s basically just poxwalkers and dogs
Crit chance +5% is also not bad since surge staff is technically a crit weapon
Most classes have a base crit of 5%, it's only vets that have 10%.
Vets when they are the best statistically while also being the easiest to play with the widest variety of weapons

I cant wait for shards
Newbie Psyker here can I block sniper shots with deflector perk?
Last I tried, no.
Better to just dodge them
Xd
I two would love a biomancy subclass, but bio lighting is the simplest and most boring way to do biomancy
no but you can block them with your face (you will die)
When you have known in universe talents like hammer fist which makes a psyker temporarily stronger then ogryn
No, nor flames or anything that has the Block Bypass tag on this list: https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkTide/comments/10f40uz/all_enemy_attacks_damage_values_healthtoughness/
The "block ranged attacks" description leaves out a few details, and it took me a few holes in my chest to realise that, no, it doesn't work on snipers.
I think the Oggy shield does ignore block bypass and might even stop snipers, but I've never played Oggy to find out.
Everything outside of grabs
And fire
Fair enough. I figured it was something like that, but I've not yet built up the patience to level up an ogryn. A completely unique weapon set that I don't have any blessings banked for sounds tedious.
Bearing in mind I haven't even finished levelling my vet.
If your really dependent on blessings and what the "best" blessings weapons and perks yeah
Pretty sure ogryn shield does in fact block snipers.
I wouldn't say I'm really dependent but the equipment grind is still one of the most tedious parts of the game.
Ogryn shield is op.
Yeah but ogryn gets to do this

yeah but surge staff has crit stat increasing crit chanche
Yes, but I can kill you with my brain.
dont give people ideas
My brain is smooth like a polished pebble. All your brainbursts simply slide right off like water off a raincoat.
has anyone else noticed that if you're running ascendant blaze you seem to get free warp charges from your teammate's soulblaze?
like if im using my blazing spirit trauma staff and someone else is running purgatus, i seem to be getting way more warp charges than i normally would
well i guess me running the blazing spirit might not be relevant, but it's the only time i use ascendant blaze when im not running purgatus myself
typical toughness psyker L
yeah your AB procs (and theirs) will give everyone running AB warp charges it seems
just looking at the pygex's guide
thanks, glad im not just imagining it
don't worry it'd just be psyker rp otherwise
btw, which is better to have on purg: flak or unarmoured?
flak
is using a +3 stam curio worth it with deflector the force sword ability
stamina would be a must-pick if not running Kinetic Deflection
otherwise, eh
probably don't need stamina with kinetic deflection
dodges and slides should take some of the heat off anyways
practice the shift + ctrl combo for sliding all over the place without consuming dodge counter
is that. . . psyker specific? 🤔
Cause that eats 2 dodges on everyone else
Oh, dodge+slide eats 2 dodges
Not shift+control
also with this staff vigil station oblivium was a walk in the park
yes 😄 so the combo is dodge + slide, then shift + ctrl
alternate this and you are (mostly) untouchable
works best with high mobility weapon because regular slide distance depends on speed
works great for scab stalkers
You can ZOC the whole group
while only hitting a part of it
you really dont need it tho
ZOC=Zone of Control
it already has built-in on-kill suppression
on top of all the other absurd suppression it offers
But yeah, its more of a victim of RNG
Than it is a concious design choice I would imagine.
if you're looking at suppressing like, a dozen stalkers alone in a room then i suppose it would be 'better'
but i can think of better approaches to that scenario
like left clicking
plus if you have a ton of cloud radius you can just swipe left and right and stagger everything
and get burn
"SMASH"
EXACTLY
Exploits gets it
I have added this to my repertoire of ogryn weapons
Its astonishingly bad
but it is kinda fun to use.
As long as I turn off my meta brain and turn on my monkey brain, its great.
yeah, i just saw maxed cloud radius and burn and i decided i wanted unarmored + infested
blessings are decent but i didn't pick them
Yeah, the crafting in this game fucking sucks
I have no idea how fatshark plans to fix it, but it really needs some overhauling.
Rolling the same exact blessing three or four times in a row on four separate weapons is such a dogshit anti-fun mechanic
that serves to only arbitrarily increase gameplay hours through RNG
when blessings get nerfed, I suppose the emphasis on crafting will be lessened when some of that power is moved into our skill tree
still shitty rng, but the rng doesn't have as much of an impact anymore
The only real impact to RNG so far has been the plasteel refund bug
I've spent ~15-20k plasteel
and still have 11k
weapons with hard stat scaling or breakpoints right on the edge will certainly get screwed though
because I get 80% of it refunded
honestly with brunt armory + rolling 2 perks or 2 blessings I don't find crafting that bad anymore
spend 2millions on 1 kind of weapon you like, then consacrate all of them
Yeah. . . that really isn't a good gameplay loop
eventually you get good stat spreads + the belssing you want
Grind for 6 hours to get gold and plasteel
dump all of it for zero rewards
rinse and repeat
it's fairly painful on the trauma staff
i have not gotten the ideal stat distribution with the perks/blessings that I want
with how the stats scale on trauma and whatnot
maybe I was just lucky lol
and if you get a perfect stat spread on a weapon but the perks and blessings can be trash and the weapon is automatically bad
is trauma staff one of those weapons where you need 2 specific blessings at tier 4 ?
like thunde rhammer ?
When Flak/Maniac make up 95% of choices on weapons, the crafting is always going to be ass
for reference, charge rate scales from 2.5 seconds to 1 second, and blast radius scales the epicentre from 1.5m to 2.5m
Either fatshark needs to remove flak/maniac as perks altogether
I do get that it's very frustrating when you actually are searching for something you want. But the majority of players are crying their eyes out trying to build 380 base stat weapons for their Malice grind, and I don't get it lol
or just buff weapons so they're no longer so reliant on them
and nerf flak/maniac at the same time
so that max is 10% at tier 4
Either way I always have something to try out and play.
and a 2.5m radius circle is 2.8x larger than a 1.5m radius circle
yeah perfect stat spread + perks + blessings can be hard to get
I'll take the Darktide system over Vermintide's any goddamn day of the year.
trauma is probably the weapon with the widest stat scaling in the whole game
took me nearly 40k plasteel to roll the meta thunder hammer
though I don't play the other classes that much to observe the stats on their weapons
but not mindbogglingly tedious
i think vermintide had better grind
at least you can change a lot more on the weapon
Craft 300 gear
throw matts at it to get gold
reroll until you get both perks you want
dump red dust into them to upgrade them to red
and if you got a red it would just have the maxed stats
Vermintide was fucking tedious to interact with, and the result was building the exact same shit you already made a hundred times over and over.
There's a reason I have 1,500 unopened chests in that game.
But that's at least a guaranteed process to get what you want
Whereas Darktide is like "Lol fuck you"
and there is no real upper limit
Yes but I'd much rather have things to test and play with, even though there's no question that the system doesn't make that easy.
its literally just unmitigateable rng
is this a good crafing base for trauma staff ?
fuck downgrading dust
Yeah. . . opening chest animation is cringe af
darktide's random number gen giving you the best weapon possible with the worst perks
Emperor's Gifts are better thought out in Darktide for execution of how the gift is handed to you
but it should've never been downgraded from 3 to 1
That's actually painge
charge rate > blast radius > warp res > damage/quell are my stat priorities on trauma
lets not pretend anybody was excited to open five chests to earn their ten greens three blues and two oranges
I mean, I don't like opening the chests because it just takes forever.
And the weapons are actually pointless and are merely crafting materials
cannot stress how much i fucking hated VT2's crafting
i played the game enough that i could just brute force it
how do I fix this
but at least it was faster to "earn" what you wanted in VT2
but not everybody put 2k hours into VT2
replace shockwave and elite damage ?
Hell, if you don't play on Cata, breakpoints are functionally pointless in VT2
and even today when i play and want to craft something, if i dont have the mats im more likely to just not bother or quit
so you don't even need to do the crafting
just roll corruption resistance on your necklace or whatever
and farm books
While bashing things with your weapons
both blessings are meh; I suppose you would replace carapace but that's also eh
because i do have the mats (1500 unopened chests) but i just CANNOT be fucked
carapace unyelding bad combo ?
trauma doesn't have any single-target DPS to remark on, so unyielding isn't useful
especially since they buffed the weakspot damage on the bonbon so BB deals more DPS than the trauma to it anyways
alright, into the trash it goes
even if the bonbon takes 2x explosive damage
whats the total cd of psykinetic wrath?
20s? 25?
30 seconds
we aren't as cool as vets (who get a 25-second cd on their ult, or 20 seconds if you subtract off the duration of the ult)
Deflector needs either stamina or Kinetic Deflection to really weather much.
The combination of both though can really get the most out of deflector, as they stack multiplicatively. (Roughly enough block to weather a point blank volley from a gunner or reaper on Damn which isn't a bad amount to have.)
so short
back in my day some of our ults had a 90s cooldown
and we had to jump to hit the heads of our enemies!
fighting raki on our way to some good ale, uphill in the snow, both ways!
vt2 ult cooldowns?
yea lmao
god damn
yeah the fact that veterans ult recharges while it’s active is hilarious
with counterfire it’s pretty common to have it already fully charged by the time you come out of it
i wonder if they messed up on the ult CD
maybe it wasn't supposed to refresh while the ult was active
so it would've been 25 + 5 = 30
nah they just toned down most of the ults (except for veteran it would seem)
wouldn’t be surprised
Also, +Stamina and KD is just funny for tanking an entire horde while you rez someone.
typically in other games with similar abilities the CD wouldn’t start until it’s over
i had a volley fire yesterday on revolver vet that lasted 3 minutes and 22 seconds
Just bear in mind that deflector doesn't work while rezzing.
very close to seeing a doctor because it lasted so long it was impairing blood flow
wtf lol
that’s a lot of reloads too
your volley was fired
and it never stopped firing
it's real easy with revolver
just load in one or two rounds at time
it was uhhh whatever that manufactorum map is where it ends in the trainyard
oh right
near the beginning when you go up the elevator stairs
legit lasted at the start of that room all the way to the medicae station before the next big hallway
it's dumb
and that whole time im basically a tank with 800 toughness, fair and balanced
I am invincible!
Who is psykers "beloved" that they talk about?
Up for debate.
Could be the Emperor, could be a daemon pretending to be him, could just be schizophrenia.
Given that Seers think they're dreaming, they've not got the strongest grasp on reality.
their felinid abhuman oc
Personally? I think it's option one or three. I can't recall any voice lines that make me think the Beloved is malevolent.
I was wondering if it was Tzeench.
As the Beloved actually seems to be benevolent, a fragment of the Emperor's or the psyker's psyche seems slightly more likely than a daemon.
Got it.
But then, a Tzeentchian daemon wouldn't be opposed to playing a long game.
But, ultimately, I don't think we as players are supposed to have a hard answer.
Some question are better left unanswered to have that mystery.
Perhaps they guard a shard of their actual lovers soul?
I just made a psycher two or three days ago. Is it normal to blow yourself up a whole bunch in the beginning, or am I just extra bad?
Abaolutely normal imo. How can you tell your skulls limit if you dont test it a few times?
I think as long as u dont charge an ability when ur already at 100% peril u dont pop. But things get a bit purple
Pushing an enemy drains a chunk of peril too
That I did not know, thank you
just tested it out in meat grinder, keep forgetting I have that ability
97% is roughly the breakpoint
though decimals are hidden
i believe the peril meter uses rounding to the nearest (96.5 and 97.5 get rounded to 97 and so on), though you shouldn't quote me on this
normal, and I still blow up even up to this day
Ty for that Arco!
the illisi force sword and trauma staff are probably the force weapons that will tend to kill you the most
for a mechanic where the consequence of failure is death, it sure is completely unexplained
Note that if you are in the Perils state, using your Psykinetic's Wrath will cancel it. It's better explained than it was (in that there's now actually a penance for doing it... an irritating number of times), and I don't recommend deliberately relying on it (the number of times that "oops, I've already used my ult"), but it's something of a safety net.
Anyway, I'm going to call three failed missions in a row time to take a break.
I ended up using my upt more often to AoE stun before reviving allies than clearing peril. Some people love to kiss the floor
Most of those can be put down to poor team cohesion (and in one case that was slightly my fault, but being pinned in a corner by... corpses? Staggered groaners? Whatever they were, I couldn't actually see them until I looked down... and then grabbed by a mutie wasn't exactly deliberate).
Illisi light spam and aim high. Suddenly its raining heads and you can dodge again
No, there wasn't actually anything in front of me, it was something on the floor that was holding me in place.
I think.
Possibly it was just that the corner had some bug.
I had something similar tonight i was stuck in mobs that had dropped from above. Only saw em when looking down
I am addicted to ability cooldown reductions, on high int spec gauntlet i can literally spam F several times in 1 minute
The last of those missions, in the Archivum Sycorax tunnels, with a team that was split between not pushing through and pushing through too fast was probably the biggest mess.
If new skill tree has some perks that allow more peril control, that would be dope
smh only scrubs die to those
everyone knows that the voidstrike is the hardest staff to manage peril with
crit chance feats will be crack cocaine for the blazing spirit enjoyers
all 0 of them 🙂
i am excited to see what stuff we get for the subclass associated with the smite
im assuming the arrow shard things are gonna be with the shield ult in terms of 'intended' subclasses and thatll be the more support-focused psyker build
"Support", that wonderful concept that relies on a team coherency that seldom exists in pub games.
i mean the displayed abilities so far don't really seem to care. like the shield looks fuckin massive
Auric missions now tend to have teams that know wtf to do, lol, at least lately I had way more complete runs than failed ones
"support" that people claim they want and then they shit on you because you have low damage
my dude doesn't care about having both quietitude and warp absorption on at the same time
smh
im a quietude hater
Btw did verm 2 have a healer class? Or something like that
I mean more like a tf2 medic
at the very least there was a datamine rly far back and one of the zealot subclasses had some kinda regen or corruption wte
no
no
you had waystalker which applied a regen to anyone below 50% hp or wte it was iirc
and like some other rly niche healing options
how
waystalker had passive heal, stepsis boosted all heals, merc and unchained had teamwide temp hp ults
well its a side grade to the normal warp flurry + rending shockwave
both work, one is better when you spam it the other works better for burst
finally got blazing nexus trauma staff. It’s nice
I'm still having difficulty wrapping my head around the idea that a weapon with a 30% crit chance (at best) is going to kill anything with a 3-stack of soulblaze
its paired with AB so the burn stacks generate warp charges which you can use for AB
basically think your stereotypical purge build 3/1/2/1/1/2 or wte, but swap out the purge staff for a blazing crit trauma
you trade in some of the horde clear for alot more CC and better range
For what I see the burn aoe is much larger than the circle you draw on the floor
But flurry and shattering feels more right to me, the burn stacks don't really do much by themselves
you can apply up to 6 stacks with the blazing trauma which is pretty decent
and you can add another 6 stacks from AB
then switch to a slaughterer weapon and it's a lot of damage
i think most of the damage still comes from the regular trauma attack, but whenever i use a non-blazing trauma staff i definitely notice my horde clear being weaker
I'm hoping one of the psyker specs is blaze
Let me set the world on fire
Inb4 we get warpfire grenades
Warpfire aura, instead of a measly 10% elite damage put a single stack of warpfire onto any enemies within a meter of allies every second? Doesn't sound strong but it'd be amusing
walks past daemonhost
walks 1.1 meters past daemonhost
I wonder if they will change wrack and ruin, maybe tie it to another blitz
shouldn't be an issue since fshark has coded certain AoE to ignore daemonhosts
but then again
Which talents do You use for Psyker?
I'm just lvl 10 kinda curious what to pick
Also I have seen other Psyker do some kind of meditating motion with their staves to lower peril how can I do that?
same as normal quelling
press R
wait have you been playing psyker without quelling yourself?
stuck in january
Your toughness talent is dependent on your weapons. Typically the go is gonna be Quititude if you're running a staff. Warp Absolution requires you to kill stuff, which rn is only super good with an Illisi Force Sword. For your level 10 talent Warp Unleashed is good, free damage.
Yes I have I just shock them a Lil bit, get close and start swinging with My sword
warp absorption isn't bad if you play aggressively with a trauma staff, but the only people i know who do that also run illisi
you can get tons of burst-toughness from trauma if you catch a patrol before its aggro'd
level 5 for toughness feats, quititude is a standard cause you can bank toughness or generate peril just to quell it for toughness, but warp absorption is great if you are going an aggressive illisi+ staff build
quietitude is the safer pick esp when you're not as comfortable with playing aggressively
essence harvest is just kinda meh compared to the other 2, I could see a blazing build run it since they can generate the most warp charges but ehh, not worth imo
level 10 wrack and ruin is just bad, inner tranq is ok, but I just take wrath cause more damage is good
I've tried it before but every time it feels situational. If I'm getting combo'd or harassed by shooters requiring staff kills for burst toughness gain demands some rizz.
Quietitude is quite neat as far as being the one of the few toughness generation perks you can trigger while in cover.
especially since there is a blessing on force swords "unleashed power" that gives even more power at high peril
it's def a playstyle, aggressive vs defensive
it certainly helps if you're stacking toughness perks to have more buffer and time to regen toughness with warp absorption
and not every build can run WA, but every build can run Q
warp absorption was a recent feat pick for me, and this was after 1000 hours of psyker
it requires getting used to. i play aggressively pretty much always so it wasn't really an adjustment
i kept getting caught in situations where quietude was not providing the raw numbers i needed it to for the playstyle i wanted
it's always been my go to but I play like a maniac, feast or famine all the way
quietude is more generalist, and more importantly, goes a long way when you choose to or are forced by the game into playing passively
Oh I got another question: I started using the Deimos force sword mk IV and I like it But I have no Idea what i'm supposed to "actívate special" for
To be clear for the new player: The feat that was "Psykinetic Wrath" was renamed to "Warp Unleashed", partly because that was already basically the name for the Ult.
but specifically if ur like me and cannot stand being anything more than a 5 foot distance away from another enemy it'll oftentimes just kinda leave u standing there like "ow god i have overextended and have no instant 100% toughness to bail me out"
The special for the force sword just look and feel weird
maniacs, heavier enemies
V to buff the force sword for one hit for 20% peril
damage-wise, it's not particularly great
there are two reasons to use it: the stagger, and the 200% damage bonus against Flak armour
but there is a silly thing with deimos, your H2 does significantly more damage than your other attacks
on the Deimos in particular, the l1 deals 2x damage and the h2 deals 2.5x damage
plus it's fun to molest your giant sword with a warp condom
so going l1-> h2 is sick
activated is still good for ragers and mutant drive bys tho imo
yeah it's nice for when you can't hit the head on mutants
i loved two-shotting mutants back when I used the obscurus
I heard that in a guide but i'm still getting used to that... I got too accostimed to use My mk III Cleaver with My ogryn and just spam light attacks
another player injured by op m1 spam brainrot
Auch... But hey I'm admiting it
the illisi is the closer equivalent if you're into low brain activity playstyle
don't worry, we're all using those sorts of weapons
josho runs ripper + bb3 as ogryn
i'm an illisi psyker
mhm
H1 QQ > M1 spam.
truly challenges the mind
Yeah, you may get on better with the Illisi, as and when that unlocks (I'm not sure when it does).
I mean, it's still best using some charged heavies to get started (and charge up Slaughterer, if you have it), but light spam isn't terrible.
(The Illisi's charged attack is rather different to the other force swords, it's a horde clear rather than a "frag you in particular").
be warned that I will not look upon you kindly if you do not use the special as much as your peril and situation can afford it
thank u for agreeing with me
(sarcasm)
i barely use illisi normal attacks but thats cause I run WA
the real enlightened shit is h2 QQ
some ogryn weapons have this property where quick-swapping puts you into the 2nd heavy if you do the inputs fast enough
gotta get that value from cleaving through 2 random bruisers
for the mk 4 knife, this bypasses the vertical heavy and gives you this super fat horizontal that can get up to 147-ish cleave with savage sweep and slaughterer
its like a BB that requires a lot more thinking
some ogryn weapons have a property where my guy forgets how to swing melee weapons and just kinda holds the thing in place
it does mess with me because I always expect the 1st heavy to usually be the strikedown
like with the mk6/9 hswords
the clubs have this deranged property where if you don't hold the heavy down long enough it converts into a light attack
usually if I try doing a push attack into heavies on my club
in this really jarring way that doesnt happen with other weapons
or i push attack to lights on my BB
the clubs kind of have this interesting property where the horizontals do better unyielding damage than the strikedown

i have thrust 4 i just do both
but i like it
BONK
i mean realistically if you're running a mk1 you hardly use the lights ever
unless ur running something that isnt thrust + haymaker but like why
mk2 has the slap -> punch combo
and gets a pass
i use lights to bully individual heretics to death
So... With the lvl 10 perk that says increases dmg based on peril... I have the extra 10% Even if I have 0 peril?
yup
Nice
the rest of the damage scales linearly with your peril
oh and get use to edging your peril
iirc the H2 on the Mk1 Club also has 0 cleave damage falloff against maniacs for the first cleave. Very cool
so warp unleashed gives +10% + 15% * peril% as a bonus to your damage
you can BB at like, 94% peril and not blow up
we don't talk about club maniac damage
you bring a gun for that
or haymaker
its fucking insanity
Seriously? 😮
and you can press F during the "struggling animation" if you do fail and peril yourself,
the threshold for not dying to a BB cast is 97%, though the decimals are hidden
it is possible to die by casting at 97%, so it's safer to do it at 96% if you're not in the business of gambling
infact, one of the psyker penances is to use your F while you are in your pre-explosion animation
or not in the business of getting tbagged by the same shitter who has blown himself up twice in one game
COUGH
die
50 times infact
i do 94% cause I don't trust my team not to kill the enemy I'm BB'ing and instantly locking on the one behind it
Too Many Hidden mechanics I Can't learn all of this is one go x.x My ogryn brain is struggling
it's actually safe to hold your BB even when the enemy dies
so long as you do not accidentally release your LMB and initiate another BB again
i'd chalk it up to your body doing it subconsciously
exactly cause it's warpfuckery
i installed the trueperil mod, so i see beyond the veil and know that the interp is a lie and i can consistently get the optimal timing on the BB -> quell -> BB chain
unless i ape something up and forget to press r
i've never blown up from locking onto another enemy after my initial target died
(don't post it)
do you wanna know the most deranged secret about staves
Yes
if you shoot a bolt from one of them with m1 there's an animation cooldown between the 1st shot and the 2nd
I swear I’ve casted at 99 and been fine before. I thought the only thing that mattered is what side of 100 you preform the action on
but if you can get the timing on the inputs down you can press the quell key
and cancel that animation
and shoot bolts like a machine gun
could've been a battle meditation proc that saved you
(don't try this at home)
Makes sense
yeah, some of the animation delay after a cast can be interrupted by quelling

for the trauma staff, it shaves ~0.3 seconds off of the 0.6 second downtime after a cast with the RMB
though warp flurry is one of the common blessings to take with the trauma, so quell-cancelling with that blessing on will be detrimental
u can see how ridiculous it gets on the staff m1
but is also useful for stuff like trauma/void
I'm going to bed too much info i'm about to brain burst myself
lmao
his peril is at 100%
its a lot of stuff to take in. most people here who figure this shit out have hundreds of hours more than any normal human should
tfw a mechanic where the consequence for failure is death is completely unexplained by the game
or we play too much of a specific class
the tutorials are a lot more "here's vague ideas of how the game works"
rather than "here's all the statistical breakdowns relevant to your class"
which is uh, weird
when the advanced tutorial is not advanced 😔
mfw advanced tutorial is actually just beginner page 2

Hunting Grounds missions with two veterans have an "interesting" ammo economy. One might normally assume that not picking up any ammo meant I was using a staff:
i love hunting grounds, probably the easiest modifier they've added
next to no ammo
man, i just cant get into vermintide 2
i cant go back to it
the things they've improved on in melee combat feel too good in DT
Admittedly, the MG XII is possibly the most ammo efficient weapon when ignoring ammo regen (at least given that psyker feats can push it into bodyshot kills on most light enemies), but still - I wasn't deliberately going for a no ammo run.
MG12 and MK1 Helbore have very similar efficency
pick your poison between the two
fps meleeing feels more weighty than vermintide 2
i feel like im doing more in by punching someone in destiny 2 than i am swinging a sword in vt2
plus i cant really tell whats going on majority of the time
theres too much visual and audio clutter
V2 is pretty much the same thing as DT but with less clutter. Only shooters are the beastmen ones.
i am no longer the player D2 is intended for. which is fine, darktide has a better difficulty and feel good to combat
and since im a psyker main, i chose sienna
and i feel like im being put in a strait jacket when playing her
I love Sienna in V2 more than Psyker in DT. Tbf I'm an Unchained main so it's a very different playstyle but even Battle Wizard feels sick.
leveling takes too long in this tbh
id have to dedicate more than a day to find out whether id enjoy a class
same can be said in darktide tho, but stil
curious to see how the class changes feel to long time vt2 players
especially with support options being added and enemy rebalance
It sounds like some of the new classes will have some parallels with V2 stuff. Like it sounds like Zealot is getting a Shade ult possibly, and at the very least Veteran is getting a Huntsman ult.
i just unlocked her, and got blown up by just swinging my sword in normal combat
the recent interview on enemies being tweaked for our increase in power was neat
i dont think im gonna play this subclass
I never got on with Sienna in VT; the mechanics around quelling (or whatever they used to call it) were considerably less forgiving than in DT.
You only get overheat from getting hit (and staff usage). As long as you don't waste your ult and you edge your heat you have some of the best DPS in the game. Only becomes a problem when the DoT elites pop out.
i guess i just read that description and just assumed it worked the same way kinetic deflection worked
where it would take 50% damage from health to overheat (assuming your overheat isnt full)
The perils for psyker have a bit of an art to them, yes, but it feels more like you screwed up when you get it wrong rather than the system screwing you over.
It's any hit at all. I think there's a talent that causes you to vent overheat when you block attacks. That makes it way easier to deal with bosses if you aren't familar with them.
yeah
playing sienna i feel like im overindulging in my staff, any time i use my staff, and that ill come to regret it in a few seconds when i really need to actually use it
it feels like "but i may need that potion later", the class
where in this case the potion is your staff
You can quell really quickly once you get the block talent
You can quell the staff. It's pretty much unlimited usage, on both Battle Wizard and Unchained (I never play Pyro) you can really just spam the staff.
Battle wizard has that much easier because of the massive passive quell
at the cost of health
Yea but temp hp mechanic exists in vt2
Just get THP from a horde and you'll regen it in like 2 hits.
And sienna can generate basically infinite
Get the one on cleave, use a dagger, press m1 repeatedly
im aware, but even reading through the talents it seems nowhere near as dependable as toughness regen
Temp hp is such a crutch in later difficulties
on top of the fact that im still like
lvl 12
so i am just quite literally having to brute force hours of miserable gameplay
You basically take no chip damage at all essentially because you are almost always at max hp
The toughness system makes it more punishing for tanking hits
Meanwhile vt2 is balanced around dying to a single blow lmao
idk if anything V2's THP is so much stronger than toughness, it kinda ruins it for me. On Unchained for example iirc you get the stagger THP talent, with the Fire Sword it's almost all of your health regened to full without any effort at all. Same with the Flail.
Now, I'll admit my context here is mostly playing gunpsyker - at least in part so that I do have a weapon I can use that doesn't build peril (and you can actually do a heck of a lot of damage by maxing out Warp Unleashed and then dumping an MG12 into something) - but still, that's a viable loadout in DT.
honestly i still prefer toughness overall
An overhead from a SV or CW just ends any 120hp class
Toughness is better imo, it solves the temp hp issue and also gives you a shield against shooters
Also in vt2 I think attacks go off much quicker, the windup for most melee attacks in darktide are probably twice that of in vt2
Toughness is better, but not stronger. If you had a source of THP it's a free heal, it's so strong that you can reliably have 1 hp on some careers. In DT it's far more balanced, and kinda needed for shooters.
idk if its just me, but i feel like the entire game is slower in vt2
Specials die really fast
Yeah V2 is pretty fast. Ranged weapons can be a bit clunkier but overall your weapons attack faster. I don't know about movespeed ig.
theres no sprinting
My memories from vt2 are mostly legend/cata max level builds with swift slaying on all the time
Early on I guess the game can be quite slow
base walk speed may be slightly faster, but if it is, its not by much
Dodge and block are separate resources as well so melees are much more frantic
Especially once you get swift slaying blessing
Not really about to open both games to compare it. Feels fine. Another thing that's nice about the speed is that stamina isn't tied to dodges at all.
Toughness lets you do shenanigans like hittrading with crushers, which is ridiculous value
I find Verms more arcadey and faster paced, it just feels slower due to movement mechanics in DT
I've observed many one too many verm vets rushing ahead into terrible situations as they are used to playing hard and heavy instead of utilizing terrain and clearing ranged units
Then they find the game too hard by the time they reach heresy and drop it
Don't crushers do bleed through damage?
At least their overheads do I think
Source: totally not me
Crusher overheads do have block bypass, but their sweeps and punches don't: https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkTide/comments/10f40uz/all_enemy_attacks_damage_values_healthtoughness/
Damn what a resource, thanks for the link
Also nice to confirm that chaos spawn doesn't have any block bypass besides grab
since it deals 260 damage, you can tank it with at least 130 toughness if hit while dodging/sliding because of the 50% toughness dr
That's interesting
Yeah, a lot of these mechanics are frustratingly opaque in the game itself.
You do need a slide to miltigate the overhead, as long as you have full toughness and it doesn't get destroyed in a single hit you get 0 bleedthrough
Hittrading is more of a thing with ogryn and I just straight up eat crusher overheads with plenty of toughness to spare
Overhead does 260, how much toughness does your ogryn have
Also the 20% toughness DR makes it more like 208 damage
because of how toughness damage works, their health DR also applies to their toughness so they have 36% toughness DR in actuality
what are the toughness DR modifiers for Ogryn's movement states I wonder
OH YEAH heavyweight
I forgot that was a thing
(does not apply to plogryns)
f
i cannot believe a fatshark feat would lie to me
It's been a locked in feat for so long I forget the 50% resist was a factor
