hmmm, i mean i can still try it out. besides, flamers i can just stagger with a couple purg left clicks and then rush at to kill with my deimos, and ragers are often in melee range of me already before my bb is charged...
i can usually finish a flamer off with a staff bolt so it's not as depressing with them

Sorry for the late reply, so does that mean that first target can be a dump stat, or ideally is it just warp resistance in the dem
oh nah; first target is pretty important since the Deimos is primarily brought out for its single-target damage
the First Target stat only increases damage dealt against the first target hit, but that's still a fairly large amount of damage
and because of how damage falls off after the first target hit by your swing, the fact that it only applies to the First Target is not that big of a deal except for hordeclear purposes and whatnot
for me, i'd dump warp res especially if I'm running quietitude
even on the Illisi, the only reason to dump first target is that it's currently bugged such that First Target doesn't scale the damage of Illisi's special

Man mutants are really not that big a deal till they suddenly are and theres 3 running around in a mixed horde
it's nice to 1/2-shot them until there are that many and then it becomes essential to 1/2-shot them
i got grabbed by a mutant once into a horde and just instantly died

i'm not sure if there's a general limit or how it works exactly in the code
the stack limit might be tied to the application method itself

the logic isn't terrible since it would prevent the heat from accumulating on the laptop I guess
it's mostly to keep my laptop cool since I don't want it to get too hot

since my laptop only pulls 60-70 watts while gaming
but it is the summer and all that, so better safe than sorry
and also because I had these fans sitting around from an old desktop that I wasn't using
so I bought a desktop fan to AC adapter and plugged them in
i mean, my old gaming computer was literally just a laptop that i put in a slanted position by placing an old Overwatch 1 box (i had bought a physical copy of it because i did not know it could be bought digitally) under the back of the laptop.
since my old laptop was prone to overheating when i was gaming because the heat could not escape from underneath it because of the laptop being on a table, so i did that whole "rectangle-shaped box near the back of the laptop's bottom" thing so the heat didn't accumulate on the laptop's components or something
yeah my old gaming set up was similar
games werent as demanding or unoptimized as darktide tho
yeah the airflow of my older laptops was questionable so I did that as well
I mostly played gmod and all that, though some servers really cut into the performance
yeah, mine weren't either, its just that the games i played back then were also kinda demanding on heat accumulation (since those games probably were not designed for laptops)...
my biggest issues came from trying to make games on the Unity game engine, which had a lightmapping thing were all lights needed to be static to make shadows (so moving the light source object would not move the game lighting), and that required each object and lightsource to be "baked" into the game world.
and because i was using a Unity engine version from 2018 back then combined with my limited knowledge of optimization and the laptop's quality, the lightmap baking process literally took forever, as in the estimated time left was at about 2 mins, before it jumped to 3 hours or something... this happened each and every time i wanted to "bake" the light sources btw

if you're using something like warp absorption and using your illisi as your main weapon most of the time, then you could make a case for the left one for its higher warp res

I concluded that if they ever did fix the crafting, it wouldn't be that painful to replace them, it's just a bit of a bummer that it was quite that recently.
imagine if fatshark makes the resources accountwide, only to set them all to zero for all already existing characters in the process, claiming something like "it was impossible to figure out a way to determine what character's resources would be shared, so they had to be reset to zero."

while im up at the top, the teamate down below is about to toss the thingie up to me, but then someone gets knocked down, which causes the person to panic and throw it a little too early resulting in it not being thrown high enough, and he gets overrun when trying to grab it again and locked in place by multiple ragers and large number of poxwalkers and goes down quickly after
at the same time, i had just fucked up and overloaded myself with no ult to save me, so i dropped down and blew up the entire fucking horde, killing literally all of them, saving the run with 3 quick uninterrupted revives

Why on earth you use wildfire with purgatus
Why not?
Cause it has a hard cap of 4, and with Purgatus you get over 4 on anything that is longer than 1 second in your flames
Used to love Wildfire, still appreciate it but I absolutely LOVE 6 stacks of warp charge damage

When it triggers, yes, but the problem is two fold.

It's hard to trigger it due to the spreading battern, the 1 stack vanish bug, the 4 stack hard cap and the 5m miniscule range.

Player is in blue. Enemies tend to move towards the player so the enemies in red are the one that die.
Enemies in orange are the ones that actually get in the range of wildfire, however they have already been flamed with Purgatus so they cannot get any stacks, they move to the red area and the problem repeats itself.
Enemies in magenta/pink are the ones that can benefit from the wildfire since they are not yet hit with the staff. However, without extra help, the orange enemies never die and this never happens.
So very unreliable and you rarely get a benefit.
On top of that the 4 stack in itself is not strong enough to kill anything else than groaners on their own.
Wildifre works nicely in the meat grinder because the enemies are static. With moving enemies you would do a lot better if you just get the battery, which also allows you to reach additional BB break points.
If you don't like the battery, take Psykinetic's Aura with Kinetic Flayer for spamming 4 stack ults. Your ult obeys the global cap of 31 stacks so you can absolutely nuke shit down if you paint them with staff for a couple seconds and then ult -> you get ult and stacks back, repeat.
Also, warp absorption doesn't give you toughness when you really need it, you would be a lot safer with either quietitude or essence harvest with purgatus
I use duelling sword so can't spam peril to get toughness in a pinch with quietitude.
I also don't have the need for 6 warp charges. In fact I do all my meatgrinder test with 0 peril 0 warp charges.

I mean, Block Efficiency will want to be Flak instead, but good mobility, good damage, and a warp resistance that's still good enough to let me charge the sword several times quickly (but also at a point where I can build up peril with a couple of quick charges if needed)
hopefully. i can see it being like 400-ish diamantine per lock removed (if they do that, we have no idea). but then again its fatshark so maybe the monkey's paw curling will be that the item starts completely locked or smth
I would prefer unlimited unlocks, but yeah even once is fine as it'll still be easy to make best weapon providing RNG give you a nice modifiers spread.
It just means for different builds you'll have to have multiple weapons.

even 600 diamantine isn't too insane, considering that's like at most 3 damnation runs
as it stands currently diamantine is like, the opposite of a bottleneck. most weapons get filtered out of your tolerance zone for bad RNG before you ever use any of it

i don't really know how much that changes with whatever they do in the next patch, either. if you still have to buy a shit ton of brunt's weapons before you get your ideal forever illisi or whatever, you're gonna be bottlenecked by ordos like you were before
ideally i would say the number would probably be like 300-ish per lock. cuz it takes 2 damnation matches with a bit of loot goblining to upgrade a weapon fully, and that would add 1... maybe 2 total matches needed to fully 'complete' the weapon

But as someone who doesn't play that intensively (I'm about 300 hours, not 3000 or whatever), it's almost always down to plasteel. It takes something like 2000 to completely consecrate an item and re-roll/re-bless things you don't like (and that'll only go up if you need to reroll several things in future), and in the time it takes me to grind that up (mostly at Heresy), occasionally watching the Armoury browser plug-in means I can pick and choose only good item rolls out of the main armoury, rather than Brunt just throwing crap at me.

so frustrating to have a game end because I made a stupid choice and that I know I could have absolutely done better
there was a dog running around aggroed on me, and there was a burster to my right
and I figured that I could be greedy by killing the burster first and then dealing with the dog
but the dog came for me faster than I thought and I got fucked
and I would've lived if I just dealt with the dog first and then the burster because the burster was a god damn mile away from me anyways
Ulting at the dog to keep it at bay while you push the burster would also work probs
But yeah dogs are like my no.1 priority esp with there inconsistency

If they are running around in a horde and dont do the pounce wind up animation its over
and me and another player managed to survive and clean it up until another special wave spawned
so I basically survived the hardest part and failed at the easiest
at least you didn't get overheaded by an easily avoidable crusher while rescuing someone

or plague ogryns, you can loop their attacks and make them super easy to kill

Clearly I was the superior psyker.
Been using this lately after mainly using a staff with rending shockwave and warp flurry (III and IV respectively), and while it's harder to say how effective the blazing spirit is, I really feel like warp nexus paired with the +5% crit chance is better than anything I've used before. I'm still able to deal with hordes but the high crit chance means I take out elites pretty readily and consistently and I don't need to charge as many right clicks since enemies die faster. Obviously the quell speed is a bit lower than I'd like and actively noticeable, but damn if this high crit chance isn't fun.
i don't feel like i miss warp flurry as much as I thought I would. This is on Damnation ofc

yeah, I'm taking out maulers and the like far faster than I expected. The +carapace armor was better than the other perk so stuck with it.
It's extremely hard to build though. You want all modifiers high pretty much.

like differentiating between bleed, burn, soulblaze etc; like imagine if one of them made enemies take more damage (reduced on bosses), different DoTs that stack exponentially vs linearly with stacks, having soulblaze feats be not dogshit, etc
linear scaling is interesting in the sense that you can allow it to function with 1 feat essentially
like how saltzpyre's flense bleed is effective by itself
exponential scaling allows you to reward something like a flamethrower via flamer/purg; but the gameplay consists of going all in and stacking it as much as possible

Problem is it's not as useful as other blessings. Which FS needs to work out, I wanna play around with all blessings and possible combinations, not grind over 100 weapons for only one or two good blessings out of the pool
yeah that's why the locks are so bad, it really discourages experimentation. if you have a perfect statted staff you're not going to ever lock terrifying barrage over a meta pick
or you'll have to hoard 10000 weapons
and the game has essentially no inventory management system of any sort besides sorting
I don't think it's useless either. I feel a difference with it on most noticeably on voistrike. I can keep the balls going when a horde closes in because everything stops before it gets to me.
I can also feel the difference on purg if enemies get behind me while I set things on fire. That being said, better positioning should take care of that.
But as previously mentioned, there are more efficient options for clearing enemies.
The Hadron iventory sorting and chracter inventory sorting behaving differently sends me up a wall.
Unrelated, the triangle/ 3 point crosshair that staves and some guns have scrambles my brains.
I got the Crosshair Remap mod and it is helping.
yeah I much prefer the cross/shotgun/square-ish crosshairs since they're more accurate and indicative of the spread

I just always end up not aiming with the middle and focus on one of the larger outside point to aim with. π π

I am devoted to my trauma + illisi
the problem with crit vs is that you're giving up the ability to spam since you're dropping transfer peril.
i think it's possible to cancel your surge proc by quelling too quickly, so keep an eye on that
If I remember right, surge on voistrike does decent damage but can have issues with the surge shot hitting nothing because the main ball killed things already.
I can't remember if surge works on voidstrike M2.
Unless you are rich qith milkbucks, I wouldn't necessarily buy that. But... you are fast tracking to a meme weapon, so, if you're flush I would buy it just to fill out the collection.

I used lower level voidstrikes while leveling and quite enjoy it--I'll keep that in mind
I've actually enjoyed all the staves except for trauma, that one I can't get my head around
Trauma feels very bad when levelling, but it's arguably the strongest staff at endgame.
Very weird to give it to players so early, when it requires a lot of game understanding to not make total mess of things.
It also scales terribly at 20% stats
trauma really needs high charge rate and blasst radius, and tbh it really benefits from high warp resistance and quell speed too. i would probably try to get 75+ in every stat but allow damage and quell to be as low as 60
Yeah, trauma and surge definitely feel way more late game oriented since their strength is in dealing with elites and big enemies and there's not a ton of those early
trauma is nice for taking good initial engagements on shooter patrols
buy the staff for the potential of the blessing alone tbh
or if they're dense
also it does a lot better if you charge the M2 to full or close to full. low charge shots are only good for cc
And your team needs to know what to do with a staggered or stunned enemy, ideally.
Voidstrike and trauma specifically have wildly different build and gameplay.
Like flurry trauma vs blaze trauma play differently.
Those opportunities are so great
you could also have just rushed them with melee, but it's nice for when you can't get out of position

It takes a group of enemies that can usually take time to clear/you back into them and screw yourself
Trauma just invalidates that
Assuming you cant just force melee
and just being really nice at staggering groups of shooters to enable your melee

getting fire proc might technically do it if you wait 
trauma is like a paul/crusher except its entire blast radius kills/significantly hurts most things
also assuming shooters Cooperate and take out melee
which, crazily enough, makes it fucking nuts if you're the 1st guy to engage with most groups of enemies
since u just snap and all the ambient spawns disappear

you can be really tanky against ranged attacks with warp absorption as long as there are enemies to kill
and gunner resistance helps against reapers/gunners which are tankier and can lock you

crushers don't really have the issue of locking on to you and swinging their hitbox (that is still a bit too large for the actual model) to block shots/hits

When the game released, I was a psyker on a computer that struggled to maintain a stable 23 fps. I sucked bad at melee. I regularly ended up in games with three vets all with camo expert.
hsword has really funny combos where u can open bulwarks with a fuckin shove with the right build

yeah the grenade ones arent that great unless you go balls to the wall with grenades, which at that point theyre only okay, but the real meat of the kit comes from the unwavering feat, combined with the toughness regen on headshot feat that also gives toughness regen, its just, so fun to literally hold W in a crowd of gunners and just not be phased by the millions of bullets heading your way

btw, back when i was levelling up psyker, i had a moment with surge staff where i accidentally hit a demonhost through the ceiling with a fully charged right click (it was on the upper floor, i think the map was Hab Dreyko) and i have never used surge staff since if i remember correctly...

i play purg and deimos psyker usually, but sometimes i run a Rending Shockwave Trauma with illisi and am currently wanting to grind out blessings for Voidstrike
