I've tested barrage a bunch with different weapons and I swear it doesn't actually do anything.
I guess the real downside of being near 100% is being literally unable to hear anything else

It triggers transfer peril
so you can bonk for 5% quell
R is still faster but hey, gotta get those style points
use it to repeatedly go under 100% for force sword special
I use bonk vindictively on the corpses of specials who did something non consequential but annoying
still think it should cause peril and do some sort of soft aoe stagger or somthing
would also settle for the ability to tape a flashlight to my staff and have that be the alt fire

My build is about justifying BB as much as possible so I take battery, psy aura, and psy barrage the level 30 talent
quelling to 97 is about the same weather you swap or not but if you want to quell more, swapping to staff is totally faster
however, you should always swap to staff regardless since the movement speed is so much more better, allows you to position yourself better for the next BB
you sort of end up doing with your alt what a vet does with refilling it on kills pretty quick
most folk only run harvest with a purge staff
with a void you usually go with quietude
but if your leveling on malice or under warp on kill is fine

Purgator is great for holding down hordes. It feels fantastic to scorch hundreds and protect the team
as it does like no fucken damage
flamer is just stupid good, its like ...entire team down... 500 dudes on you... no problem
the only difference is that Purg has a shorter range and wider width, but we also have BB
a void with flurry and quell is fucking bonkers horde clear

I don’t know what trait I have that does this, but I think kills reduce my Peril. It keeps dropping down at random, so I can keep flaming
I assume just to try other classes generally? That's why I went Zealot->Psyker->Ogryn->Vet now swap back and forth a bunch

I like to swap to my Force sword to get my dodges back when I run out with the staff
such as when I'm kiting the beast of nurgle
since I can't dodge slide backwards while quelling, so it catches up

the purge staff is one of 2 weapons that can functionally kill infinite things in it's range

you don't but it's just that it takes 5 casts to get into full effect so your 6th cast is the one having the full benefit

I'm also timing every cast and I'm not getting expected cast times

my set up now is void for hordes, non special ranged. Ult with barrage and psy aura to BB pretty well everything else. Force sword alt for when ragers, maulers, and mutants get touchy feely
trauma is tricky as there is no indication, however it has longer base cast time so its more forgiving to frame
I start timing when the charge bar is visible again and empty

beneficial bugs were the only thing keep the class afloat at launch
so effectively it has one less blessing slots
though the force sword has another busted blessing besides slaughterer
bloodthirsty, which gives guaranteed crits on all attacks for 5s after a special kill
and for some reason, this blessing only works this way for the force sword; it's much weaker on the chain weapons

well irl its a bit complicated because most semi autos are just ars on semi where its like
u can really fire that as fast or slow as u want
but stuff like the burst fire hh
the idea of a 2-shot burst is to put x rounds in the same place
the end point of that being the dumb an94 or various designs that nearly let u ignore the recoil
Things light math.huge, float.max etc. are always the largest value that the selected data type can hold
but ye in general what u want is something that kills what u point it at immediately
and in a game like this one way to look at the value of it is to think
if u have a gun that goes from 3s attack time to 1.5
u would always be lined up for that next shot
going from 1.5 to 0.5 still good
but 0.5 to 0.1 is much less of an advantage over multiple targets

That is correct. The whole idea behind a burst firing weapon is that it fires all the bullets in the burst before the recoil lifts your barrel up.

earn t4 and move to the right staff, because the charge rate on the left is terrible

Idk this is my primary trauma staff build right now, with ascendant blaze. Seems to work great for keeping at 6 warp charges, so the Rending Shockwave is a backup build

I have my KB and mouse set up super ergonomically, hands in 90 degree angle and the wrist joint is straight in rest position not bent up. I have a customized wrist support for that.
The side product is that my fingers are practically parallel with the keyboard keys, so pressing ctrl with the pinky while pressing shift is super easy.

What's the general consensus on blazing spirit on force sword? I read somewhere if you pair it with bloodthirsty and chain spam specials it can stack soulblaze fast but other then that its largely useless
better options for blessings

so, I had good luck taking purples that had a blessing I didnt want and upgade to orange
a lot of plasteel to fish but you get high tier blessings doing that

fyi it's better to light than push-attack if you can; since lights do more damage and deal non-zero cleave damage, and push-attacks do less damage and deal 0 damage beyond the 3rd target
