Itâs pretty easy, just let your team know that youâre doing it and ask them to allow you solo a monstrosity (I fought against a Plague Ogryn alone)
You also have a WAY easier method which is asking an Ogryn with a slab shield to help you out with the penance, let him aggro the Daemonhost and meanwhile heâs on braced stance on a corner you just BB the Daemonhostâs ass back to the Warp

You can run fs with deflector since itâs pretty nice when you donât use cover. Your other option is using the stronger combo which is kinetic deflection + antax mk v axe because you can spam push block attack for cleave and high damage on hordes meanwhile you use staves for range
its not 2 stam =1 bar, every other item that gives stam in the game is 1stam=1bar except curios

it's not that I can't play without it and position cover to cover, it's just that with it, it opens up more lanes and avenues

When I spam slide I also virtually never get hit by ranged unless there's a true fuckton of them
If I want to play XII I just play my vet, I don't see the point of playing psyker if the optimal way to play it is to ignore the fact he is a psyker and use it like a lesser sharpshooter
Itâs a hybrid combat game rather than a melee focused one so yes itâs very much different, change your gameplans and figure it out as you go

While a psyker can just hug a corner and safely (but painfully slowly) BB then down.
If youâre having difficulty with ranged thatâs probably why since in vt2 you only had ratlings, stormfiends and Ungor Archers as ranged meanwhile in Darktide itâs more main stream

I have been shot through the floor by a gunner so it's not only cover that is bugged
The game is a hybrid for the fact that you need to learn how to take cover against ranged and shoot ranged AND also learn when to use melee and avoid melee
bb on t4 and 5 doesn't feel worth it anymore (not that it felt that worth it on 3)
It takes at least 2 bb to kill most elites, which brings you up to 90+ peril
the time it takes me to kill those 4 gunner, the game will spawn a trapper or a dog on my butt
tbh in this game, mainly falling back when its appropriate or necessary to better chokes, or push forward onto ranged when it's appropriate.
I only use it when I need to regain toughness or if there is a situation that is not safe to deal with other wise (under heavy supression fire)
That being said I use it the most against reapers, gunners and regular ranged mobs.
Yeah I've been shredded by gunner shooting between their own legs at a 90° angle through the floor
BB on 4 or 5 is reserved specifically for:
Gunners
Bombers
Snipers
PoxBursters
Anything else just about always takes 2, 3, sometimes 4 for the ogryn, so it's not much worth it.

Again, Psyker (or atleast the Psykinetic class is) is a support tank, youâre not meant to kill, youâre meant to blatantly weaken the enemy for others to pick off

I will say I definitely feel vulnerable to stuff like ragers and crushers on my other characters in a way I never do with my psyker because I can burst em or shout em or give em the zap from ye olde force sword

vet can tank with 200 toughness lol but he gets camoflage
vet has it because it's kind of his role to deal with range so it makes his life easier

Kinetic Overload is underrated imo.
It's probably the best out of all the Soulblaze perks in terms of flat damage you do, though it's only good in the specific case of you running both Ascendant Blaze for Warp Charges, and Psychic Communion for Warp Charges, every extra charge flows over in huge hordes for several charges a second, putting upwards of 12 SB stacks on the closest elite and making them burn for 153 instantly.
But yeah it's still ass all around for Soulblaze

Once every 15 seconds, for about 900-1000 dmg.
Versus an average of 1 warp charge every 3 seconds, that'd be 20 charges for Overload, which would burn 1 elite for 326 a second.
The overall (POTENTIAL) damage is higher with Overload since it's theoretically not on any CD, stacks infinitely, and is only gated by how many warp charges you can get, and how fast you can.
And 1 warp charge every 3 seconds is generous, lots of times you can get several within 1 second, especially in large hordes.
That being said, I'd still say the entire build for Soulblaze is a bit underwhelming and just kinda lackluster all around.

Yeah but I can instantly get it back to 4 within probably 5 seconds or so if I'm killing stuff with the staff (warp charge though AB) and sticking around my teammates (warp charges through Psychic Communion), especially if I just F'd and burnt a whole crowd, that's a 10% chance on every burn kill for a charge.
It's actually a really cool loop imo.
AB and Communion give you max charges consistently, funnels every extra charge into Overload, Overload kills proc AB Warp Charges, which procs more Overload, which procs more charges, etc...
They just need to adjust the damage numbers on Soulblaze to be more front ended so you don't have to get everything to 12+ stacks to do any damage worth a shit, it'd feel a fuckton better and actually make the Soulblaze a lot stronger by simply making it do a bit more damage up front.

higher average ilvl on your character means the shop sells you weapons with higher ilvl so the earlier you climb numbers the better
As for melee, look for the MK V axe. It's ludicrously good for us, with the peril block feat. 100% safety in hordes.
I think MK V axe is great for surge, where surge struggles in the hordes, but with staffs like purg or voidstrike, you can kinda forgo the horde-killing melee and grab a Force sword instead to compensate for the loss in single target, and use the FS with deflector for taking 0 gunner damage
MK V axe is kinda just good all around regardless though

Force Sword is great for tanking gunners with the Deflector feat. But the Axe is better at cleave, at blocking and about the same at single-target. I switch between these two, depending on which staff I am gonna use:

The MKV Axe doesn't make sense until you use it. It's Push-Block is a 100% safe loop, and it does a heap of damage

You can still keep a horde at bay (kinda) by just light spamming but it's nowhere near as safe and effective as cleaving with the shove attack on MK V
If you're doing 4/5 constant waves, the horde is literally the last issue
The anim cancel on FS is insane for Horde clearing especially with Slaughter

With Dagger, I just LA LA Dodge Back, Repeat. Not sure if it's optimal, but it's fairly safe. Also fun.

If possible, hit ragers twice with the staff left click. That weakens them enough to die from the explosion. Also if you see maulers...brain pop them once and they will also die. I did it on 2 maulers and a rager and got it, also had an ogryn agro them with a shield.

thats for sprint cancel and its easy to fix and thats the 100% no explode exploit
Don't remember the game, but there was a patch where animation canceling was done in such way, where you were "committed" To animation for about 70% of it, minus a chunk of recovery frames
its not that easy to fix the void strike precisely because of this, we are interrupting the recovery frame after the bolt leaves the staff
only way is to hard cap the entire animation to be unable to be cancelled at all, or change the animation completely
both of which results in massive problems and development time, hence its not easy to fix
it really isnt but you go ahead and keep using it if its fun for you
sprint cancel for 100% explode can be easily fixed though
I mean tbf, the projectile for Purge disppears if you do it t oo fast anyway
