I have a different theory. I think that for a long time in internal development, the 4 classes were literally just the 4 vermintide characters. Preacher was just Saltzpyre with a machine gun, psyker was just Sienna, etc. And as they added more FPS mechanics to the game, it made what became the Sharpshooter and Preacher feel good to use, but the psyker retained all of the clunky features that were meant to balance Sienna as a ranged character in a melee focused game.

The point of them is that they are achievable relatively quickly, imo, to give you a taste of choice. Whoever designed them just fucked the difficulty curve for expectations

I will note, while we know that there is going to be a cash shop, we don’t actually know what sort of purchases will be on offer. We do know that the weapon vendor sells cosmetics, and we don’t know how grand those offerings will be. We should wait to call out FS for money grubbing until we actually see what they’re asking real money for

Sometimes it's in range but doesn't do anything. Sometimes it doesn't aim down stairs despite the enemies not being that much closer. Sometimes it blows you up instantly without the animation for some reason.

It also doesn't let you switch to your brainburst hands mid-attack animation, despite it letting you switch to your melee instantly, and none of the other staves have this restriction

I'm playing with lightning staff in heresy and i think the best way i can describe it is "incredibly useful but somehow underpowered at the same time"
Like it makes dealing with bulwarks and other elites much easier. The crowd control it provides feels crucial.
At the same time, i don't think the damage should be as horrible as it is.

Otherwise yeah, deciding to be a walking stun grenade for an entire run would be incredibly boring

Using lightning to stun gunners and going in for melee is pretty nice for scratching my vermintide itch. Melee actually playable when enemies can't shoot

It-s not an issue of warp charges been hard to maintain, they are really easy to maintain if you play heresy and get them right after elevators. The issue is that there is NO reason to maintain the warp charges, it changes hound breakpoints...that-s it, even at 6 the breakpoints remain the same, so u don-t even get a good reward out of using warp charges.

It means you can do 1 more bb before hitting 100%, which is irrelevant with edging at 97% and it means you get 2 more voidstrike half charges, doesn't change surge, trauma or purge... It only comes in handy when combined with the lvl 30 third where ur bb is now 2 seconds and costs 6% peril.
