The weapon variety is something that'll be expanded upon over time, they seem to have a drop rate thing in play and it'd probably be nice to see it evened out a bit. Goes for the heavy weapon crate, it's the same small pool every time. As for build agency it's a roguelike, it's kinda normal for builds to have randomness to them. RC if anything has too many fucked builds, way too easy to get infinite class ability uses for the whole team as an example.

It comes with time. In playtest I could solo max loot everything and still have time. You can also survive a bit when the timer ends, adding a bit of time.
