yeah MP5 is a good choice, 9x19 is everywhere in large amounts. anything in 5.45 is also great for ammo availability. mosin makes a good sniper even into the midgame.

1: shock mines can hold a choke point for a total of 15 seconds and you get them for free on a timer
2: just don’t get trapped? Dodge? Shoot the trapper?
3: dog takes too long to kill things that can get put down by a single shot from a gun
And you’re less tanky and dog counting towards coherency just rewards rushing ahead which I don’t like
