yeah the saving grace there is now the beam weapons catch things on fire on contact, and fire damage is now proportional to total health

so big stuff burns as fast as small s tuff

there's an illuminate front going on right now so I pulled it on a lark, and the flyers/overseers are dead with maybe a full second, two tops on contact, lil more for the pistol an dless for the lascannon

and you can wave the beam across entire platoons of horde and just the act of catching em on fire will kill em so there's no need to keep the beam on anything in particular

just slap em all and watch em drop

I could very well be wrong on the why of it, but hulks/chargers and above burn much more quickly relative to the smaller stuff

keeping the lascannon on chargers and bile titans will boil off their armored parts and expose the sides/legs too

hunters and below are killed by fire damage outright no matter how little the beam touches em, as long as they catch

standard size up to the armored ones take two

so at a distance it's just about the easiest killing you can do

and up close you don't have to worry about the weapon ever catching you on fire or detonating too close

it's been fantastic, really glad I pickedi t back up

there's also been situations where I can clamber up something tall and perch to give overwatch to folks Doing The Thing

there's no recoil or dispersion and no delay to the projectile so it's great for killing stuff right on top of your squaddie

I use my monitor’s built in crosshair and this game’s crosshair is so much higher than the actual center of my screen
