There's a lot of overlap in dota 2 that'll help you out in terms of judgement and awareness to a degree. Applying that appropriately in context to deadlock is just a different thing.

Concepts like roaming, lane presence, rotating objectives, all that stuff is still in you. You'll just have to adapt it to deadlock and eventually you'll feel how things fall into place.

I just play, feel things out, play more with that intent regardless of what happens, learn, attempt to apply and repeat.

It's easier to not think as outrageously hard and chunk things down. Setting purposeful goals helps too like trying to stay alive in lane between exchanges deliberately for heal creep waves to show up or just getting used to aiming slightly better are all just tiny things one can do to sharpen a skill and transfer that elsewhere.

Minimap, player item inventory and resistance stats, player affinity stats, better guides in general with solid annotations.

Practice noticing time between detection, concealment during roaming and where people reappear. Unironically one of the first basics. If you've ever used a minimap in any other game and were ready to act from anticipation, just reapply.

Smack that into your roaming habits and you'll start getting better at noticing opportunities to finish someone off because you cut them off.
