I see potential in the Idea of Highguard, combining different genres can work well, but you gotta look at what makes those genres work too, like the arena is too big to be empty we need something to do while looking for loot between rounds. The Idea of defending your base if you get pushed back also isnt bad, but the gameplay is so fast paced its not really advantageous to setup a real defense. Well, when people have fun, it's not uncommon for time to kind of just be less of something that's thought about. Especially when one is hanging out with people that they want to be around and are doing cool shit or whatever.

Misery can often be experienced in solitude, dissociated through even. Being in one's head especially just draws out time and all that. The mind gets particularly in a kind of way when the right things happen.

Someone can be totally surrounded by people and their mind is somewhere else: trauma, anxiety, dread, sorrow, etc. Depression can distort time. Trauma can lock someone's mind in the modes where the trauma began/compounded.
